Chapter 2. Inner Turmoils.
"As time goes on, you will understand. Time solves most things. And what time can't solve, you'll learn to solve yourself."
The fight has taken off and now Nandani and Navya were completely settled. Though they were traveling in a private plane and many seats were available, still they sat together. No one can separate them, remember? They glanced at one of the back seats and saw Ms. Gulati reading a boring novel boring an even boring look.
'As always!', they thought.
"Nandu me toh so rhi hun.. Am feeling very sleepy..", Navya said while yawning and sitting comfortably on her seat ready to take a nap.
"Kitna soyegi Navya? Raat ko bhi kharate Mar markar so rhi thi.. Mujhe sone bhi nhi Diya.. Aur Abhi bhi sona hai tujhe..", Nandani whined.
"Toh tu bhi soja na.. Kon mana kar rha hai..", Navya said and finally closed her eyes to sleep.
"Kumbhkaran kahinki..", Nandani muttered. No doubt she couldn't sleep all night, partially because of her best friend's snores and partially because of her anxiety. It was really hard for her to believe that she would finally be going back to Raigarh, to her Raigarh. She was happy yet doubtful. She was excited yet nervous. She has waited for this day since past six years of her life yet she is afraid at this moment sitting in the airplane just few hours away from her homeland.
She connected her phone to airplane's Wi-Fi to distract her mind. She instantly got some messages. She opened them one by one.
Choti Maa: "I couldn't sleep the whole night in the excitement to see you.. Jaldi aaja mera bacha!!"
"On my Choti Maa! ;)", Nandani replied.
Lacey: "We gonna miss you Nands! Do come and visit us whenever you get free from your princess business.."
"Sure Lacey! Gonna miss you all and Australia! :("
Sandy: "Nands! You really went? What am gonna go without you? I would really miss you! Because its not every year you get a Royal friend to hang around with! :p "
"Just shut up Sandy! Done with your drama?"
There was some more good bye messages from her friends from Australia which lifted her mood but eventually the last message snatched that smile from her face.
Madhyam: "Ignored my four calls since yesterday? Not fair princess! Is this how normal girls behave with their fiances? Anyway, no worries! Am not at all mad at you because now that you are coming back.. We will get some more time to spend with each other.. Right? ;) And I hope you know I will be the first one to see you after these six years as am gonna come and pick you up from the airport!"
What the hell? He doesn't leave any chance to irritate Nandani. Obviously, Anger rose inside Nandani. Why Madhyam? Do seriously no one else had time to pick her up from the airport?
'RaniMaa is behind all this. Don't blame others!', Nandani's mind said. She sighed and realised that there was no point in getting irritated just because of this. She is always like this, isn't she? That Hitler RaniMaa of hers has done even worse to her. She Is going back to her family after long six years of exile and that should be not important to her more than anything else.
'It's better if you too take a nap Nandani!', she thought and rested her head back on the seat and closed her eyes in order to relax herself.
It was so peaceful! Sitting all cuddling to him is the best thing in the world. A smile was constantly playing on Nandani's lips involuntarily and why not? She was in the embrace of the love of her life, Manik Malhotra.
"Nandani..", Manik hummed her name.
'Oh! How beautiful my name sounds from his mouth..', she thought.
"Hmm.. Bolo..", she replied softly refusing to lift her head from his comfy chest.
"I love you!", he confessed stroking her silky hairs. Nandani giggled, "I know Manik.. Kuch naya btao.."
"I love you more than anything else in this world. Whenever am around you, you make me forget about my existence, my purpose all I just think about us.. Just me and you. I never believed in true love until you came into my life.. Thank you so much Nandani! Thank you so much for being mine!", Manik poured out his heart to her which made Nandani looking at him in awe. How can someone love you so much? She thought.
"I love you too Manik!", she said and immediately hugged him as if her life was depending on that.
Soon the green and beautiful surroundings around her started changing into dark and mysterious offcource not giving her good vibes. She let go of Manik and found him as clueless as her.
"NANDANIII...!!", Someone shouted her name and it just took some moments for her to realise that it's her dad calling. She immediately get up away from Manik's embrace and found her Dad screaming her name surrounded by a circle of fire. Everything was so beautiful till now, greenery all around but now it was dark and she could also hear the thunder roaring.
"PAPAAA!!", she finally found her voice in her throat seeing her father almost near to death. She ran towards him but the fire made impossible for her to help her Dad. She felt so helpless! Soon the fire reached her Dad's clothes and soon consumed him while he just kept screaming.
"Manik HELP!!", She shouted looking back at her love but instead of helping her, she found him smirking at her and nodding in a 'NO' suggesting that he isn't going to help her. She looked back at her dad but he was nowhere. He was gone.. Forever!
"I HATE YOU MANIK!! I JUST HATE YOU ...", She screamed with all the power left in her lungs while Manik Malhotra just kept smirking at her.
"Nandani! Nandani!! Wake up.. Utho pls!", she heard a loud familiar voice calling her as she opened her eyes. She was all drained! She could feel it. The same feeling with she has woken up many a times in these years. Sweat was all over her face and her breathing was also uneven.
"Phirse?", Navya asked dejectedly to her best friend.
"Don't worry Navya.. That was just a bad dream..", Nandani tried to soothe her.
"Dreams? You call them dreams? They are nightmares Nandani!! Tum neend me phirse... I hate you Manik.. I hate you Manik bol rhi thi.. C'mon! Move on from him!", Navya chided seeing her friend in that state. She was hesitant to take his name in front of her but she didn't had any option today. Her friend is going back to her family after such a long time and her happiness is ruined by him. Nandani is still not able to get him out mind because her sub conscious self never spare her not to think of him, his betrayal to be more precise.
"My Love has moved on from him long back but my Hate can't..", Nandani said with all the hatred inside her. Navya kept her hand on Nandani's shoulder comforting her. Yes, she knew everything! Every bit of her best friend's past! Though they became great friends still Nandani was reluctant in sharing her past with Navya but Nandani's nightmares and mood swings made Navya ask her about it. After all, it was all in the newspapers, in every news channel and she wanted to know the story behind it, the truth and Nandani's feelings and one day Nandani gave into Navya's efforts and poured her heart out. Navya never sympathised with her instead gave her strength and support and from that point their friendship became even more stronger.
"Nandani please make yourself presentable.. We are about to land and there will be media all around and I hope you know that Mr. Singhania is coming..", Ms. Gulati told her by coming in front and sitting on a seat beside them. Nandani just rolled her eyes at her. Here she have just witnessed a deadly nightmare and all she is worried about her looks. Nevertheless, Nandani took out her hand mirror and observed her reflection. There were some traces of sweat on her face apart from that she looked fine. Her eyeliner was prefect! The only thing she is good at. Her straight hairs (She really worked hard this morning to straight her naturally curly hairs. It's not that she don't like them that way, her natural curls are the best but who don't like to have a different look?) were perfectly falling on her shoulder. Her grey tank top tucked in her favourite rugged blue jeans with white shoes and a brown side bag, made her looked stunning! So, she just wiped all the sweat and got ready.
Nandani's Outfit:
She couldn't believe that in few minutes she would be at Raigarh. Her heart was racing fast due to that unusual feeling. Navya kept her hand on Nandani's understanding what was going inside her friend's mind. Nandani gave a small smile to her.
And then that moment came! Their plane landed at Raigarh. They were asked to got down. Ms. Gulati went first to have a look on their luggage. Nandani was trembling. Yes, the sassy tomboy was trembling with nervousness going back to her homeland which she's eventually going to rule.
"Nandani you can do it.. Your family is waiting for you and there are many unfinished things yet to be completed that you left at Raigarh six years back..", Navya said squeezing Nandani's shoulder comforting her. Nandani nodded with a determined look, took a deep breath and came outside the plane.
As soon as she stepped out, an emotional air caught her. She was finally at Raigarh after those godamn six years! Naturally, a smile came onto her lips as she looked at her surroundings. Four bodyguards immediately came covering Nandani and Navya. By this time, Ms. Gulati has also joined them. The media people were going crazy outside the airport. The police officials were having a hard time controlling them. Nandani wore her glasses and started walking with attitude. As soon as they reached at the gate, media people bombarded Nandani with their questions.
"Ms. Chaudhary how are feeling coming back?"
"Why didn't you even came once to see your family in these six years?"
"What are your plans now? What about your marriage with Mr. Singhania?"
"As you know he must be coming any moment.. Are you excited to see your fiance?"
Nandani was not at all interested in answering their questions. She rolled her eyes (Thankfully, reporters couldn't see it because of her glasses otherwise tomorrow's headline would have been, "The Princess has insulted a reporter. Looks like she has forgotten her Royal teachings in these six years of exile.") and stuffed her hands inside her jeans pocket. These reporters are always like this! Clingy and suffocating!
'Aur paida ho Royal khandaan me..', Nandani mocked at herself. No doubt, if she wouldn't have been a Royal her life would have been much more simpler and happier.
Soon all the voices of buzzing of reporters and the flash of cameras stopped. Nandani looked around and found the reason behind it. A handsome man in blue tee, beige pants and red shoes with perfectly jelled hairs and eyes hidden behind the dark shades with a smirk on his face was coming surrounded by four bouncers. Immediately, everyone made space from him. All the reporters were swept away by his bodyguards. Soon everyone's attention shifted towards him, Madhyam Singhania.
"How are you feeling seeing your fiance after these long six years sir?"
"Is there any memory of you guys in SPACE ACADEMY that you remember?"
"Was it difficult to maintain your long distance relationship?"
Media people got a new target and they started bombarding Madhyam with their questions. His bodyguards were handling the masses of reporters while he ignored them all and just walked to her destination, Nandani Chaudhary.
He walked up to her and removed his shades while his smirk grew even wider. Nandani was just giving him a boring look. He checked her out from top to bottom and his lips twitched into a smirkish grin. How much she hates him! She was ignoring him till now but now being physically around him is gonna be difficult and she knew it but she still maintained her attitude. If media people wouldn't be here then she would have surely kicked him on his ass to show him his rightful place.
He took her hands in his and kissed them.
"Welcome back Princess!", Madhyam said huskily. Everyone around hooted for the couple while the media was busy taking their pictures.
The moment Madhyam took her hands in his and kissed them, all could Nandani feel was disgust. God knows how had she controlled herself!
Madhyam signalled something to his bodyguards and they surrounded all of them keeping the media away. He came close to Nandani and slid his arms at her waist. She immediately gave him a warning look at which he just grinned. She wished she could break all those teeth of his. They walked and reached a white BMW X6. The driver opened the door for them. Ms. Gulati sat at the front seat with the driver while Madhyam, Nandani and Navya at the back with Nandani inbetween.
"So, how was the journey? I hope it wasn't tiring..", Madhyam tried to initiate a convo looking at us. I acted as if I didn't even listen to him. Seeing that I wasn't replying, Ms. Gulati took the charge, "No, not at all Mr. Singhania. In fact, the journey was very smooth.", she replied with a sugar coated voice.
'Humse toh kabhi itne pyaar se baat nhi Ki ..', Navya whispered in my ears.
'You are going to stay in a Royal Family now.. Get ready for more surprises!', I replied back.
Nandani heard a very light and soft chuckle beside her. It was from Madhyam. She looked at him amused. He just smirked, "What do you think Princess? You will keep ignoring me aur me kuch nhi krunga.. You know what.. Australia me bethke mere calls aur messages ignore krna asaan h but ab mujhe face to face kese ignore karogi? Am one of the harsh realities of your life and you think you can ignore your reality that too after coming back to Raigarh.. No babe.. No chance!!", he whispered to her which only she could hear.
'Yes, now I won't ignore you.. I will just find a permanent solution to get you out of my life..', Nandani thought but deep down she knew it's going to be difficult. Coming back to Raigarh is gonna be difficult.

"So as you just saw.. Nandani Chaudhary has landed at Raigarh. The only heir of the throne of Raigarh had grown up even more beautiful and not to forget Mr. Madhyam Singhania has also drooled over her at first sight itself. He kissed her hand and welcomed her to India as you can see in the footage..", the reporter said while showing the footage of the airport. The Malhotra Family was having their breakfast. There was nothing much to talk for them at the dining table so it was their ritual to watch the television while eating.
Dhruv looked at his elder brother who was busy eating the toast with one hand and reading newspaper with the other showing no emotions at all. He was acting as if he didn't even listened the news and it doesn't affect him but he knew that if someone affects Manik the most then it's Nandani. He just sighed at his brother's condition. How much he wants to talk to him, to ask him to share his pain but he knew it wasn't just difficult but almost impossible because his elder brother was always like this. He never shares his inner turmoil with anyone. Right from his childhood, he has taken care of him like his son, shielding him from all the bad in the world. Then when Band of Boys formed, he, Harshad and Madhyam became his second family. He has always valued their friendship, their bond and offcource music the most. He always kept their band before himself. Though they were best of buddies, still at times ego clashes occurred between Madhyam, Harshad and Manik because of Harshad only but Manik always bent down in front of his friends for the sake of their friendship but at the end Band of Boys fell apart. When Fab-5 came into their lives, Manik again became their godfather, always protecting and caring for them like a father. He used to solve each and everyone's problem but never bothered to share his. His brother was always like that. An angel for his loved ones and a nightmare for those who hurt them. Only one person on this planet called Earth is born with whom Manik shared his pain, whom Manik let know his fears, his suffering, whom Manik didn't protected instead SHE protected him and SHE was none other than Nandani.
Dhruv looked at his parents. His father was having a keen expression while looking at the television as if something deep is going inside his head while his mother was having an amused expression seeing no effect of Nandani's arrival news on Manik. She was looking at Manik the same way Dhruv was. He didn't even looked up once to look at her on the television after these six years. How could he resist so much? He has seen their love. They were one hell of the lovers.
'Agar pyaar itni shiddat se kiya tha.. Toh nafrat bhi toh utni hi shiddat se krenge yeh dono..', Dhruv thought and chuckled.
