CHAPTER- 3

As soon as the drunk guy raised his hand to hit Nandini, someone held his hand and pushed him. Nandini opened her eyes and felt relieved to see that person.

That person was Mukti. She was passing by that road with her group of friends in a Jeep when she noticed Nandini with the goons. She stopped the Jeep and came to help Nandini.

She along with her friends attacked the goons (Chak de India girl gang style). The goons ran away saving their lives.

Mukti came to Nandini and asked-

Choti u r fine right. Did they do anything?

(Mukti and Nandini knew each other since school days.

She treated Nandini as a small sister. Now they were studying in the same college.)

Nandini- Yes Mukti I'm fine. Thanks a lot. If u hadn't come and helped me , God knows what would have happened.

Mukti- Now stop thinking all that choti. All's well that ends well.

Come let's go.

Nandini- Thanks Mukti. Can you please drop me home.

Mukti- Of course I will drop you but first come with me .

Nandini- where?

Mukti- yaar kitne sawal puchti ho tum. We are going to Manik's party. It's his birthday today. Why don't you join us. Saying this she dragged Nandini with her to the Jeep not giving her any chance to protest.

Nandini hadn't been to any of such parties. She had attended quite a few party's but not the party's of Mukti's style.

She had heard a lot about the parties of Mukti from her college friends but not attended in person.

It's not that she was against such parties but never got a chance to attend them.

Mukti stopped the Jeep in front of the farm house where the supposed party was going on.

She took Nandini along with her inside the farmhouse. Nandini was very much surprised with the ambience.

Mukti asked Nandini to feel free and enjoy the party and went with her friends.

Nandini settled herself on a chair in the far left corner of the hall.

The party was going on in full swing . Everyone was drinking and dancing to the loud music.

It was 10 PM now. Nandini was getting worried as she had to get back to her hostel as she wouldn't get entry otherwise at this late hour.

She asked Mukti but she said her to spend the night here and she would drop her to hostel next morning.

Mukti said that Manik will be here any moment so she can't leave the party.

Nandini understood her dilemma and kept quiet.

Mukti and Manik were good friends and she cannot leave his birthday party in the middle.

At exactly twelve the lights switched off and everyone stopped dancing and stool silent .

The main door opened and there came the birthday boy with few others.

As soon as he came inside, the lights came and everyone shouted in unison-

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MANIK.

Done with another update . hope you will like it.

Next update will most probably be in Manik's point of view.

CHAPTER-4

Manik's point of view-

I was lost in my dream world of my princess.

She was standing nearby a lake enjoying the beautiful serene atmosphere. I came from behind and hugged her with my eyes closed. She turned around and I kissed her forehead then eyes ,then both the cheeks and proceeded towards the lips. My eyes were closed all this while. Suddenly my dream got disturbed with the loud knock at my door.

I shouted in irritation- Who the hell is this?

The person shouted back- Abey saale khol darwaaza mai hoon tera baap.

I recognised it was Cabir and shouted- Get lost u idiot subah subah mood kharab kardiya and went back to sleep.

Again I heard him knock the door.

Cabir- Darwaaza khol warna door Tod dunga.

I got up ,opened the door and came back to the bed.

Cabir- phirse apne dreamland me khoya hua hai tu. Roz roz ek hi sapna dekhke than nai jaata tu.

I used to see the same dream always but before seeing my princess face my sleep got disturbed one way or the other.

I used to wonder who that girl was.

But then I convinced myself that it was Soha .

Yes Soha my girlfriend hot ,sexy and modern.

We were in a relation for 2years now.

I agree that she was a bit chipkoo type but then not every person is same.

She had accepted me with all my flaws so I had to do the same.

Oh god thinking about Soha I completely forgot about this idiot who was now lying next to me.

I turned to his side and saw him busy in his phone.

This was strange. He was so lost in his phone that he didn't observe me staring him.

I asked him-

Abey oye itna kya busy hai apne phone me. Koi nai girlfriend bana li hai kya. Aur mujhe bataya bhi nai. Chal ab bata kaun hai wo.

Cabir immediately kept his phone in his pocket and said- koi girlfriend nai hai. Mai to bas angry birds khel raha tha phone pe. Aur kya tu time pass kar raha hai. Go get ready and come to the breakfast table in 15 min. I'm waiting.

Saying this he pushed me inside the bathroom and went down.

I felt that his behaviour to be different today but ignored all that and took a hot shower and wore my clothes and then checked my mobile but surprisingly there was neither a message nor a call from Soha. It was strange. Normally she would have messaged a thousand times by now but today not a single message. So i called her but her phone was switched off. So i thought that anyway i will be meeting her at college and went down .

I had my breakfast with cabir and we left to college. I got a call from our pune branch office that there was some emergency and my signatures were needed to resolve the issue. At first i asked them to solve it themselves but on a lot of insistence from them that its very important i agreed. I told cabir everything and he said that he too will join me.

So we both went to Pune.

It was almost evening till the matter got settled. I was getting irritated by now . First of all I didn't get any call from Soha and secondly had to bunk the college and on top of that the dispute which arose here.

As soon as the work finished both me and cabir got in the car and headed back to Mumbai. And in the middle the car broke down.

What the hell! I thought. It took another one hour to get the car repaired.

I was damn tired of the journey. So cabir said that he will drive the car. I agreed and sat on the passenger seat.

I leaned my head on the seat and don't know when sleep overtook me .

Cabir woke me up and I rubbed my eyes and look at the surroundings . I realized that we were outside my farmhouse.

I gave a confused look to cabir and he said that there is a surprise waiting for me inside.

I asked him what surprise and he asked me to find it myself. I got down from the car and saw Soha standing there with my other friends. She came and hugged me and I hugged her back.

Then cabir seperated both of us and asked me to come inside. I opened the door and there was darkness all around . I saw here and there and suddenly lights came back and everyone shouted - HAPPY BIRTHDAY MANIK.

I have tried point of view (P.O.V) for the first time. Hope you guys like it.

CHAPTER-5

Continuation of Manik's P.O.V

I was really surprised with what I saw.

What an idiot I am? I don't even remember that it's my birthday.

Then you can't blame me for that. Cause my mind was already preoccupied with so much stuff since morning. First cabir's weird behaviour then Soha and then the Pune trip.

However I felt really happy that my friends took so much of efforts to plan my surprise birthday party.

I looked at cabir and he smiled sheepishly.

I am sure it was all his plan. I asked him and he wiped the false sweat on his forehead with his thumb and said-

Doston ke liye kya kuch nai karna padtha aur jab dost Manik jaisa ho to double mehnat karna padtha hai.

I punched his stomach lightly and he faked an Ouch!!!.

Such a drama company he is.

Just then Soha came and took me with her to cut the cake.

Everyone gathered around and started singing the birthday song.

I blew the candles and cut the cake and gave the first bite to Soha then Cabir then Mukti and then my remaining friends.

I looked around and saw all familiar faces but my eyes got stuck on one face.

I had seen that person somewhere but couldn't figure out where.

Just then Soha came and dragged me with her for a dance.

I agree that she is my so called girlfriend but still I didn't want to disclose this to the world. May be because I was scared of commitment. Only my close friends knew that Soha was my g.f. Nobody else knew about it. Soha had many times asked me to make our relation public. But I refused.

For the world I was still single and available. Almost every girl in college used to flirt with me and even I flirted back.

That's the reason Soha always sticks to me so that I don't notice other girls.

But then who doesn't enjoy attention.

Of course I do .

Now coming back to present , I was dancing with Soha when I observed the same girl ,whose name I don't remember , sitting all alone and not enjoying

I wondered why she was silent while everyone was enjoying. Didn't she liked my party.

I thought to myself-What the hell Manik , it's your damn party. It is the most happening party in town. If a random girl doesn't enjoy doesn't mean ur party is boring.

Soha brought me back from my thoughts by snapping her fingers.

For the first time I observed Soha's face since coming to this party.

I was so worried since morning as to why she didn't contact me and now when she is with me I m just ignoring her for a random girl.

I observed Soha to be upset about something. So I asked her and she told me that there was some girl in her class who always tries to act smart with her and because of that girl she gets insulted every time.

Soha said that she wants to take revenge from that girl by insulting her in front of whole college.

Seeing Soha's sad face,I assured her that everything will be OK and I will look into that matter.

Hearing this Soha smiled lightly and I hugged her.

Then after a lot of fun and dance everyone started to leave one by one.

Now only a few people were left.

I saw the same girl talking to Mukti.

She looked a bit sad. I thought to ask Mukti what's the matter. As I went to Mukti, Soha came towards us and gave a mean look towards that girl and said-

Soha- Nandini tum aur yaha.

How come you came to our party. Who invited you?

Mukti came to that girls rescue and said that she had invited her.

Soha gave a whatever look to her and walked away.

Mukti introduced me to that girl.

What was her name ?

Ya Nandini.

I forwarded my hand and said hello.

She looked nervous but took my hand and said hello and wished me happy birthday.

I must say she looked cute .

Wait! What did I just say 'cute' .

Stop it Manik I thought to myself.

I thanked her and then Soha called me .

I bid Mukti good bye and drove off in my car with Cabir and Soha.

End of p.o.V

Mukti took Nandini to her house. They slept there and then next morning she dropped Nandini to her hostel.

Done with another update...

Hope you guys liked Manan encounter. I know the meet was chotu sa.

But there are a lot more twists coming up in further updates where you will get to see more of Manan.

Your prologue is damn interesting and it has kept me hooked

Waiting for the story to progress and things to unfold

And of course the prologue to come into picture and then what happens next
