Chapter 5
He was brought back to the present by the Panditji's voice. Manik knew that this would break him when it started. He knew that this moment would come but he didn't expect it so soon. This pain in him was out of some invisible scars. They're deep but they couldn't be traced even by the gentlest touch. But what to do? When the only one who could heal it is the reason for this pain, what shall he do?
Panditji: Pooja khadam ho gayi hai. Ab sab log nandini ki aatma ki santhi keliye prarthana karo.'
This was much more than unbearable to Manik. He felt like thousand daggers pierced his heart at the same time. His heart was pounding. His eyes were pouring. His eyes had gone deep red. With anger, with pain, with anguish, with helplessness. Not able to hold himself back anymore, He screamed. SHUT UP. JUST SHUT UP' Every head in the room turned in his direction. Mukti put her hand on his and caressed it soothingly. He shook his head and mumbled. No Mukti. I can't do this. I just can't.' Saying this he rushed out of the room like a storm. He went outside to the place where they had celebrated her 18th b'day. Some wounds never truly heal, they bleed again to the slightest word, he thought. He placed both his hands on his waist, closed his eyes and looked up.(Please play Zaroorat hai song from Ek villain background.) Then his mind again rushed back to the memories of that dreadful day.

Manik went after and saw her getting out of the college gateway. Nandiniii...' He called after her but she didn't stop. Nandiniii rukona. Meri baat toh sun' He called out again and this time she stopped turning towards him. There was hardly 20 footsteps distance between them. He was moving towards her and then he saw it coming. He called out her name as loud as he could but before she could make out what made him scream a truck came and hit her. Manik could only watch the scene like a helpless spectator when she flew a few meters and then hit the ground with a deafening thud. He froze at his place. His pupil dilated. It took him a minute to digest what just happened. As soon as he regained back his senses, he ran to her, pushed aside the crowd who had gathered around her and what he saw in front of him gave him a cold shiver through his body. Nandini was lying there motionless in a pool of red. CALL THE AMBULANCE' He yelled. Then he bent down and took Nandini in his arms.'Nandini, Tume kuch nahi hoga. Just look at me. Open your eyes damn it. Nandini, please don't do this to me. You know na, I can't live without you. So please aisa mat karna. I'll do anything to make it up. But please, please open your eyes' He whispered in between his tears. Ma...Manik' He heard her whisper. He looked at her in disbelief. SOMEONE JUST THE BLOODY AMBULANCE' He screamed again at the crowd. Manik' She mumbled again. Nandini, I'm here' He said in a panicked tone. Manik, mujhe...mujhe pata tha that ... you couldn't for...forget me. I...I knew it' She whispered. Nandiniii' His words weren't audible as he was literally crying. Manik, I... I love you and... I'll never leave you. Mein Humesha tumhari saath rahonga. ' She said with a weak smile. She weakly reached out for his hand and entwined hers with his. And I... I'll shine for you Manik. Humesha.' Saying this, her head tilted sideways. Though literally it was Nandini's breath which stopped, Manik's too did. Nandini' He called out softly but she didn't move and that was enough for Manik to lose control over himself. NANDINIII...'

He screamed it out again. Nandinii...' He then felt a hand on his shoulder. He turned around to find Chachi looking at him with all the motherly love that she had for him. Unable to fight back his tears anymore, he hugged Chachi and cried. 'Role beta. Kitna rona hai role' Chachi whispered patting Manik's back. He too found a motherly solace in her. Finally getting a little bit hold of him, Manik spoke.
How could she do this to me chachi. Usse pata tha... Usse pata tha ki I can't stay without her.' He said wiping his tears. Phir bhi who chala gaya. Woh bhi mujhe akele chod ke. Tume pata hai chachi usss... uss last minute pe bhi usne mujhe bola tha ki She'lll stay with me Humesha. Aur woh chala gaya. And she says that she doesn't lie. Usne mujse itna bada jhoot bola aur phir bhi she says that Nandini Murthy doesn't lie.'
Manik knew he was making no sense at all. But he needed to pour out his heart to someone. Chachi weakly smiled at him. Manik beta, nandu kabhi jhoot nahi bolthi. Aur abhi bhi usne jhoot nahi bola. Woh tumhari paas hi hai. Yaha(pointing to his heart).Woh yaha jiyogi. Tumhara pyaar usse zinda rakogi. Aur waise bhi ek baar Nandu ne mujhe kaha tha ki tum usse apna star samajti hu. Aur usse mujhe ye bhi kaha tha ki she wants to become a star after she pass away just to shine for you. Aur beta dekho (She said pointing towards the sky), Kitni stars hai. Aur hame kya pata if Nandu is one among them.' After saying this she left from there. Then he saw Mukti and Aliya coming towards him and he gave both the girls a fake smile. The girls also gave him a weak smile.
Aliya: Manik, Are you okay?' Manik just nodded. The two girls pulled him into a group hug. Manik then felt some peace. This was a fab5 moment. He was with his family. His true family. After breaking the hug, Manik looked at both of them. Both were having tears in their eyes.
Manik: Guys, hold on. Hold on. Please not again.' They wiped off their tears. That's like good girls'
Mukti: Manik, everyone will be waiting inside. Shall we go?'
Manik: Ok.' Then Manik saw something in Mukti's hands. Mukti, vo kya hai?' He asked pointing the packet in her hands.
Mukti: Oh shit. I just forgot. Yeh Rishab ne tumko dene keliye diya tha.' She said giving the packet to Manik.
Manik: But why did he give it to you?'
Mukti: Voh... He got a bit scared by your performance' Manik rolled his eyes.
Mukti holding ears: Sorry. Ab chale?'
Manik: Guys, you push ahead. I'll be there in two.' The girls agreed and as soon as they left, Manik opened the packet. It was a diary... Her diary. He started reading it. While all this was happening, A pair of eyes was watching him from a corner of Gurukul, Ams. She wanted to go to him, console him but she lacked words. She wiped out her tears and saw him smiling going through Nandini's diary. Rishab had told her about gifting Nandini's diary to him. Actually, everyone was a bit scared about Manik's presence during the pooja. Everyone knew that he was the most affected person. Everyone knew that he have not moved on and maybe... He never will. Then somebody called out Ams's name from inside, so she left.
Outside Gurukul
Manik was going through her diary and she reached the Musicana opening night and her diary said
I cannot just believe what just happened now. And ayaippa, meine Manik ko wada kiya hai ki mein Humesha uske saath rahoge. Please aiyappa, mujhe uske saath rehne dena. Manik heyna, voh dil se bohot accha hai par pata nai kyu he behaves like a monster. Ayaippa, I want to always see his best side. Usme koi monster nai hai. And I want to shine for him Humesha and please help me do that. So Ayaippa, please fulfill this wish of mine to become a star after my death. Not anytime near huh? After a long... long time. Kyunki mujhe uske saath jeena hai. For a hundred years... And even after I die na I want to shine for him. If I leave his side na vo phirse andhero se lot jayega. Mein voh nai chahtha ayaippa. So isiliye mujhe ek star banana chahti hu. So that I can shine for him. Pleaseee...
Manik's eyes could barely read it. They were filled with tears. Then Manik thought about Nandini's Last line. I'll shine for you Manik. Humesha.' He gazed up at the sky Nandini, Tum pehle bhi mere star thi aur abhi bhi. You'll always be my shining star and I'll love you forever Humesha.' Telling this, he turned the next page. He knew that in that page there would be nothing he could be happy about. It was Musicana... But as always nandini surprised him here as well. It said...
Even now I love you, Manik till Humesha
Yup guys, I know it was a sad ending. I personally love tragedies but I never wanted this one to have a sad ending. Trust me guys, I didn't do this on purpose.
