Hi guys, so here goes my Chapter 3. I'm not boring you with my introduction note, so straight to the story. Enjoy😊...

Chapter 3

Manik was brought back to the present on hearing the pilot's announcement to fasten the seat belts n that the flight is going to land. A driver was waiting outside the airport with a sign board written manik Malhotra. Manik decided to drive alone and hence took the keys from him and sent him back. There was hardly 20 minutes drive from airport to Gurukul. It was slightly drizzling outside. Once he got out of the airport, His mind rushed back to those memories...

After breaking the hug, Manik was the first one to speak. Guys, Nandini kaha hai?'

'Nandini ki yaad wapas aagaya toh hame bhool gayi kya?' Mukti asked in a teasing tone.

'Muktiii' Manik said in an irritated tone.'

'Just kidding yarr. Achha sorry' She said holding her ears. Manik gave her a Forget it' look and rushed towards the door.

'Are kaha jaa rahi hai?' Mukti yelled from behind.

'Obviously in search of Nandini' And he turned to the door again.

'Aree ruko na' Mukti shrieked again.

'Ab kya?' Manik asked in a defeated tone.

'Manik, How can you tell her so plainly that you remember her? You should tell her in a special way. After whatever she has done for you can't just tell her in a plain manner. Iss 21^st centuary mein aise ladki kaha milta hai?'

'Exactly my point . She has done so much for me and now I don't want her to do anything more for me. Now it's my time to do things for her. I know nothing could make up to what she has gone through but still...' Manik was hunting for words. His tears were at its brim. He was hurt. Hurt very badly because of the very thought of her being hurt. Her being hurt because of him. He has failed to keep his promise. He has failed to guard her smile. He has failed to make her happy. And what hurt him the most was that he has become the reason of her tears, her sadness. He kept blabbering all this to himself while Aliya and Mukti watched him helplessly. Not able to hold herself back anymore Mukti spoke. Manik, Have you lost it? Tu yeh kya keh rahi hu? You are not at fault Manik' Mukti tried to calm him down. No 'Mukti, I'm at fault. Sab mere waje se hua hai. She is hurt because of me. I've failed her. I've failed her' He kept blabbering. After what it felt it like a lifetime, Aliya and Mukti somehow managed to calm him down and the trio went to the doc's cabin. At the same time, Nandini somehow managed to get herself back into a single piece and after getting freshened up, she came to the room and found it empty. She began to panic and rushed out in search of Fab3. Mukti discussed her plan with doc and the other two. Manik rejected it in one go but Mukti and Aliya gave him no choice and the doc, he was also reluctant at first but after Mukti's and Aliya's constant pleading he too agreed. Though Manik has regained his memory, Doc asked him to continue his medications for a little while more and told him that he could be discharged the very next day and assured them that he would tell nothing about this to Nandini and the trio got out of the doc's room and saw nandini approaching them.

'Aree where were you guys? Do you know you got me so worried... mein tume har jaga doond rahi dhi... mein kitni paressaan ho gayi dhi when I didn't find you in my room' She went on and on with her complaints and Manik badly wanted to hug her but Mukti took hold of his hand and rolled her eyes.

'Aree Nandini, choti si baat heyna why arew you getting so hyper? Waise Manik had a slight pain in his head isliye hame unhe doc ke paas lena pada so chill' aliya was the one who spoke this time.

'What! Manik, Tum theek hona?' She asked in a tensed and concerned tenor. Manik simply nodded and looked away suddenly which nandini thought is ignorance. But actually he was burning inside of guilt, of pain, of wrongdoing. To divert Nandini's attention, Aliya spoke again. Waise Nandini, Doc has told us that he needs to meet you.' On hearing this, she rushed to the doctor's room.

'Doctor, What happened to Manik? Everything is ok, right?' She was so panicked.

'Listen Nandini, Calm down. Everything is fine. Why are you so stressed?'

'But doctor, Aliya told me that you wanted to meet me.'

'Oh that! Actually Nandini I wanted to tell you something. Manik's sessions has actually got over.' Nandini felt an insatiable fire burn all the oxygen in her body leaving her totally empty. She held her head in her hands.

'Hey don't get me wrong Nandini' Doc spoke guessing Nandini's state.' I meant, rest of his treatment could be done in India as well. He will be discharged tomorrow and chill girl, he's gonna be fine soon' her face gained some color after hearing this. And she went to the room and told them everything. Mukti pretended to check the availability of flights the next day( bcoz it was already booked but still they had to do it to convince Nandini). The next day, they left the hospital. Before leaving, Manik went to see doc.

Manik: Doc, I know thanks would be nothing before what you have done for me. But still thank you doc... Thanks for everything. You didn't just give back my memories, doc. You gave me back my life.'

Doc: Oh come on Manik, It's my duty. And don't keep your drama long. She is a keeper, Manik and don't dare to lose her.' As soon as they reached Mumbai airport, though they were damn tired after the long flight, they went to put the plan in motion. They went straight to SPACE, Nandini was constantly asking why have they come over here to which none gave an answer.

Nandini: Guys, you can't ignore me like this. Tell me something'

Mukti: Nandini, Things worth having are worth waiting for. And trust me Nandini what's waiting ahead is worth waiting for. So have some patience.' This time Nandini didn't argue further bcoz she knew it was pointless. On the way, first Mukti excused herself and then Aliya. Nandini found something fishy so gaining all her guts she asked.

Nandini: Manik, kaha ja rahi hai hum?'

Manik: To the staircase behind the music block' He said that without the slightest glint of confusion in his voice. Nandini was taken aback by this reply. The staircase. It had so much memories of them. She didn't realize that she had stopped walking until Manik spoke.

Manik: 'kya hua? Ruk kyu gayi?' Asking this he literally dragged her along with her. On reaching the stairs, he stopped facing towards her. 'Manik' She was going to tell something but Manik stopped her by placing a finger on her lips and with the other hand he caught her waist and pulled her closer. Nandini was stunned, She didn't knew how to react so she just kept looking deep into his eyes. He did the same and ran his fingers from her fingertips till her shoulders(Guys imagine Ishq bulava bgm in background). He then tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear and placed a kiss on the crook of her neck. Nandini stood there as if she is dead. Nandiniii' Manik took her name softly to bring her out of the trance. Nandini wasn't sure if it was a dream or reality. Manik moved closer to her lips but she stepped back suddenly.

'Kya hua? Is the note too high?' Manik asked with a wink. She couldn't hold back her tears anymore and tears rushed down her cheeks. This was the only thing in the world that Manik couldn't bear. Her tears. On seeing tears rolling down her cheeks, Manik pulled her into a bear hug. She was too numb to react. She couldn't believe this was happening. She was feeling weak on her knees.

Hame socha ki ham tumko surprise denge. But you are surprising me now. Nandini, Since when have you gone so desperate?' Manik straightened up hearing Mukti's voice but nandini stood there numb with tears rolling down her cheeks. Mukti then noticed Nandini who was standing there expressionless so she came near her along with Aliya and Aliya spoke this time. Nandini, Are you alright?' She asked placing a hand over her shoulder. To the trio's surprise, Nandini shook off her hand and ran away from there. Manik gave the girls a stern look and went behind her.
