CHAPTER 9
Cabir was scratching his head deep in thought. Navya noticed this and tip toed into their room and shouted in his ear.
"CABIR!"
He was startled and fell off the couch falling on his butt. Navya doubled up with laughter. He scowled at her while massaging his butt.
"Itna kya has rahi ho? Don't think I'll let you go with this. You should feel remorse for disturbing me, the king of all cupids" he said pointing towards himself and helping himself to a cup of tea.
"oh really?! Waise, my lord apke is khali head pe kya naya idea uga rahae ho?" she asked knocking on his head.
A smug smile spread across his face. " Part 3 of our mission - Manan ki jalan" Cabir said handing her a cup of tea.
Navya was confused and she took a gulp of her tea only to spit it out a second later. Her eyes watering she glared at Cabir.
Cabir smirked at her. " I forgot to mention, it is my special chilly tea. Limited edition hain sirf aur sirf tumhare liye!" he said winking at her.

The next day Cabir and Navya were at Iktara musics getting ready for the next phase of their mission.
" Yeh Ranbir bhi na koi kam wakth pe nahin kartha. The girl he sent should've been here by now!"
He peeped in just to make sure Nandini and Manik were exactly where he wanted them to be. Just then a beautiful girl walked past him right into Manik's Cabin. She wore high heels and red coloured knee length dress. In short she was drop dead gorgeous.
Navya's mouth was hanging open and Cabir obliged by shutting it for her. "poor Nandu" she said with sympathy.
Cabir's phone rang. It was a call from Ranbir. Cabir was about to thank him when he said " sorry yaar Cabir. She got stuck in the traffic and she said she won't be able to make it on time"
"Kya ? toh phir yeh koun hain?" they wondered watching the girl hug Manik.
Uh ho!!!

Nandini was in her office busy with some useless irritating work as always, mumbling her complaints to her Aiyappa. Manik was sitting in his cabin, stealing glances at her through the glass doors. After his short lapse of control a few days back he was now extra careful to maintain his arrogance.
Nandini's head snapped up when she heard clicking of heels. She saw a beautiful girl in her mid-twenties walk straight into Manik's cabin.
Curious she asked the secretary sitting right next to her if she knew about this girl.
" Oh. This Is Miss Jeniffer, Daughter of the CEO of Abc Musics. They are really good friends. There is also a rumor that they are dating." She informed her.
"WHAT?!" Nandini said shocked. She felt something unpleasant crawling up her stomach when she saw her hugging Manik.
...
" Oh my god Jeniffer! What a pleasant surprise" Manik said hugging her.
" Long time . How are you Manik? Any new romantic endeavors after me?" she asked smiling playfuly.
Manik laughed his eyes stopping over Nandini for a second before he answered. " well none yet."
Jeniffer followed his gaze to find a beautiful girl glaring daggers at her through the glass doors. " I see" she said with a twinkle in her eyes.
"Anyway why did you come here?" he asked.
" I'm getting married." She said "finally Dad agreed to it. Thank you so much Manik I couldn't have done it without you."
" Congrats. I'm really happy for you. Anyway I didn't do anything. It was your dad who wanted to set you up with me. You're lucky that I didn't want to marry you."
" yeah I really am." Jeniffer said smiling happily. "And thanks to dad I got a really great friend like you. I just hope you'll find your special one soon too...but it looks like you already have." She said noting Manik stealing glances at someone behind her.
" huh? What? No No. that's nothing" he said embarrassed that she caught him red handed.
She smirked slightly. One thing that that made Jeniffer Styles to befriend the arrogant Manik Malhotra was the fact that they were so simiar in their personalites. Pride was something both of them would never let go.

Ayyo Aiyappa. Dekho kitne has has kar bath kar raha hain. I've never seen him smile so much in my entire life. He never smiled at me like that all these days. Hello bolne keliye hug karna zaroori hain? Can't they just shake hands? What is there so much to talk about anyway? He is not dating her, is he? Thank god! She is leaving. Kya? phir se hug. Can't they keep their hands to themselves!' Nandini thought watching them with narrowed eyes.
"they look gud toghether don't they?" the secretary said .
Nadini felt her patience snap."What?! Seriously?. They don't look good together at all. Never no. Absolutely not" she said fuming.
The secretary was surprised by her sudden outburst. She slowly slid her chair away from Nandini, looking at her as if she had gone mad.

Yeh Megan fox ki behna bhagwan ka diya hua vardan hain' Cabir thought observing everything that was going on.
"Excuse me." An abnormaly high pitched voice said.
Cabir turnrd around to see a girl in an extremely short dress with an overdone make up.
" yeh kya hain?" Navya asked eyeing the girl with digust.
" Where can I meet Mr. Manik Malhothra. I mean my sweetheart Manik. I'm his girlfriend. Actually I just..." Cabir and Navya shared a look while she was busy blabbering about god knows what!
"By any chance did Ranbir send you?" He asked
"Ranbir!!! Of course. We are very great friends you see.."
Cabir face palmed himself and said " Navya. I thought you were worst in the field of overacting now it's look like you have a rival" Navya nodded giving him a half glare.
"come, you need to get out of here" he said dragging the girl out.
"But wwhhhyy??" she asked in her high pitched voice.
"Because you're so awesome that I feel like taking your autograph!" he said.
"Oh really?!" she said fluttering her lashes.
Yup. The world has been finally taken over by apes!

A few minutes after Jeniffer left, Manik called Nandini to his cabin to give her another nonsense task for the day. She was instructed to get some very old music albums from the library. Nandini didn't give a damn about what he said. She was busy glaring at him. When he didn't get any response from her he glanced up at her only to see her blazing eyes.
"what?" he asked confused.
"Why don't you ask your Ms. India to get it for you?" she asked angrily.
" What the...how dare you.." But before he could give her a piece of his mind she stomped out of his cabin leaving the door swinging behind her .
Manik stood shocked for a moment. Then a slow smile spread across his face. Well, well someone is jealous.

Nandini found herself in the middle of a room filled with thousands of CDs. How on earth was she supposed find this particular one that he wants. After 3 hrs of searching the hay stack for the needle, she gave up.
A staff of the library who felt pity on her said "Madam ji. Aap jo CD dhoond rahi woh toh bahut purana hain. Some of the CDs were misplaced while the shifting it to the new library. You should check the store room. Some of the older ones have been kept there."
She thanked him and left for the store room heaving a huge sigh.
The store room was in the basement. She opened to door to see a room filled with all kinds of things- broken guitars, instruments, files, dusty old furnitures and what not. and I thought it couldn't get worse.' She thought. Another hour of search followed and this time she got lucky. She took the CD from a small cardboard box. Curious to know what was so special about this one she played it on the player.
It was song she had never heard before. There was no music in the background, just the voice of couple who sang it. She couldn't identify the voices either. The song was very soothing. Nandini didn't know when she fell asleep on the floor leaning against the wall.
...
It was almost 7'oclock and there was no sign of Nandini. so left without informing me. I'm not going to let you go so easily this time Ms Murthy.' Manik thought angrily and left himself.
Nandini jerked awake to find herself alone in a dark room. She checked her watch to see it was almost 8: 30 pm. Nandini was alarmed and she got to the door stumbling on her way only to find it locked. She desperately called out for someone to open door, but there was not a soul nearby. After almost an hour of shouting and crying she felt herself go dizzy. She felt darkness surrounding her eyes and fell to the floor unconscious...
