Manik's pov
"Manik, come on tell me bro" "Manik yar where are you lost", Cabir has been trying to talk to me from the past thirty minutes but I am so much occupied with Nandini's thoughts that I don't know what to even answer. Forget about to answer, I am not even courteous enough to give him a look. I have closed my eyes and relaxing my brain which I really think has stopped working these days.
"Manik bro" Seriously, he wouldn't budge. I just hate him for this.
"Yes Cabir I am here only" I snapped getting too much irritated.
"I can see that very well, my lost soul!" He folded his arms and mocked. I just don't get it what's with him? For once can't he stop asking questions.
"What hmmm? What you want to know?" Finally I turned to face him and whisper-yelled at him.
"Why don't you start from the first and tell me why the hell are we in a bus and going to Ooty that to 8 in the morning". He equally yelled at me showing his exasperation. His expression showed that he had enough of me for today.
I heaved a sigh and started explaining him all the incidents from morning.
Flashback
At the command of my so called princess, I was here standing outside her house like a true genie. From past fifteen minutes, I am leaning at my car and waiting for her, that too at 6 in the morning. And on top of that this girl is not picking up my call as well. What a day to start I must say!!
After waiting for few more minutes, Finally I see her rushing out from her house towards me. I must say she is the only girl I have seen till now who can look sexy even without wearing short dresses and in any simple wear.
"You are late miss crazy" I gave her a stern look
"Can't you wait even for a while Manik" she sounded annoyed. I am a little taken aback on her tone. Here I am standing here on her command and waiting for her and on top of that this girl has the guts to get annoyed on me.
" You woke me up this early so I stand here and wait for you...Couldn't you have waited for a while" I replied sarcastically and open the door of car for her.
"Shut up Manik! I don't have time for this stupid banter. Let's go we are getting late for my first wish" she replied hurriedly and got inside the car. I closed the door with a bang. This girl has the power to make my blood boil in literal terms.
I sat on the driver seat and asked her calmly, suppressing my exasperation - "But where do you want to go at least I should know this"
"College Manik, of course! Where the hell you thought that we are going" she gave me a look as if it was the most obvious thing and I am the biggest fool who don't understand thing.
I raised my brows and asked her inquisitively -"Ok but College at this hour"
She looked outside the window and whispered slowly -"Ya because what I need you to do that can be done in college only". Now I really don't know what the hell she is planning. I started driving the car but curiosity was killing me. What she'll make me do I can't even imagine, just let this bet finish miss crazy, I'll not leave you. We reached the college after fifteen minutes. I parked the Car and as soon as we got out, I called her " Nandini..."
"Hmmm" she turned around and gave me a questioning look.
"Nandini can you stop beating around the bush and please tell me what is going in your bad ass mind" I pleaded her finally. I don't want to start a fight with her that too at this hour.
"Manik don't worry my first wish is very simple ...ok just hear me out..." She took a pause and heaved a sigh. "...I want you to arrange a workshop at Ooty that's it" Ok this is weird.. am I hearing correct, she wants just a workshop whereas she couldn't have asked me for anything. I released a breath finally.
"Ok just this much ..this seems to be easy don't worry I will talk to mom about this today only" I gave her a smile and spoke in a mellow tone.
She passed me a stern look as soon as I completed my sentence. Now what?
"I want it right now"
"What.?" I asked and she nodded. She is behaving like a child only.
"Ok I will talk with her now only as soon as College starts." I replied.
"Manik you dumb head! Will you allow me to speak for once..now without interrupting listen to me first.." She raised her voice throwing her hands up in the air. I kept quiet and gave her cue to continue.
" I want that we should leave for the workshop just now ...just now means right at the moment ..at least around 7 or 8 a.m" she spoke after taking a look at her watch.
"Nandini I must say... that your... sense of humour is getting worse... day by day" I spoke in between my laughs. This girl is really crazy!!
"Don't tell me you are serious?" I said as she continued passing me glares, tapping her foot.
"What does it look like?" She replied with annoyance and sarcasm in her voice.
My smile died at instant. I was befuddled after hearing her. - "You are! No doubt !"
"Manik so make arrangements for the trip and inform everyone thereafter. And then even drop me back so that I can pick up my luggage as well" she ordered me as if I am her PA. Oh wait! I am even worst right now. She is my master... how can I forget.
"It's nice to hear that you have already planned everything but just tell me crazy girl if I had to drop you back then why the hell you came with me?" I tried to keep my tone as calm as possible but at the end it came intoned as if I am ready to kill her at the moment. God help me right now!
" Manik it's because of you only. You don't understand anything. What if you would make some mistake then my whole plan will be ruined..like just now it took so much of time to just explain you that I want it right now at the moment." She passed me a duh look. Only ...seriously only my master...only this girl can do these things with me. Just wait Nandini...I'll not leave you easily after this bet.
Flashback ends.
"So now you got it cabir what we are doing here in a bus and why we are going to ooty." I passed him an annoyed look asking whether he is satisfied now. Till now except Cabir there was no one who could make me do things against my wish but Nandini she is creating a storm.
"Ya ya I got it but how you convinced aunty that still doesn't explains". He'll not let me be in peace seriously!!
"After talking with Nandini I called up mom and told her that there is some famous singer who has come in ooty and conducting a musical workshop. I told her that cabir wanted to go desperately so I was thinking that she could arrange a bus so that all of the students can go, it will be beneficial for us. And after thinking for a minute she agreed. So no problem there for me." I informed him in a monotonous tone.
I know he is giving me a look that he'll not leave me but I am busy looking outside the window. I can't handle one more case for today, I am already tired.
After a few seconds of silence I heard him saying dryly - " I can see I was willing to attend a workshop of which I have no idea also that it even exists.
Without reaction I continued - "After that I talked with the colleges caretakers and arranged a bus and asked them to call all the students to assemble as son as possible. I went ahead and dropped Nandini home. Then, I called you all and informed about this. And here we are." I was still looking outside the window, my tone being jaded.
"But I ..." I cut him in between giving a deathly glare - "Now enough cabir just stop your interrogation because beyond this even I don't have any answers."
I turned back and found my friends lying and sleeping on each other. Mukti's head on Alya's lap and Alya's head on Dhruv's shoulder. At least, some people are having peace.
I turned ahead and looked at her seat. I can see Naina is blabbering something but Nandini is least interested in answering. She is looking outside the window, with a smile on her face. I know what I need to do. I looked at Cabir, he has closed his eyes. I got up from my seat but receded as he spoke - " where do you think you are going now?"
Without turning, I spoke with a determination - " Even a genie deserves some answers from his master."
