As for the main point, I stand by what I said about RY and the whole discussion started with how Nandini was murdered and new "step-creator" had nothing much to do . Well here we differ, because unlike in S1 where Nandini was part of a love story, the new creative failed to make S2 her story- of maturity, fight for justice and other things- thats where she missed the bus. Anyway, I am out for real now.

I had the doubt because Aditya Swamy still seem to be having a hangover from MTV, as he keeps tagging it in his tweets. After I read your post I googled the new EVP and found a press release of Viacom 18 confirming that. Thanks once again for enlightening me.
Regarding the Watwanis, they were the story writers till Sep 8 episode if I am not mistaken and yes I know their names were mentioned in a couple of more recent episodes. I think that was deliberate because one of them was the tattoo episode. RY did mention the story behind the tattoo. I guess those scenes were written when the Watwanis were still on board. Parth was supposed to be a part of season 2 initially. So my guess is that the Watwanis wrote the story under the assumption that he would return. With Parth deciding to not return, that would have been shelved and they went ahead with the Yaariyan (which did not seem much yaariyan to me) stuff Subsequently when he returned some of the stuff may have been used for the more recent episodes which is why they gave credit to them. Again this is my assumption.
As to the main point I was making, I did not say the new creative had nothing to do with Nandu's murder. All I said was that the deterioration in her character started much before that. Yes, the new creative failed in a lot of things including strengthening Nandu's character. It was obvious that there was a lack of vision what they wanted to show in the season. Her being the 'step' creator made it worse. Very few creatives take over work from their predecessor and work with as much passion on them. I saw shows deteriorate with every change in creatives. In this show, the original creative also had a tough time showing what she wanted because of the environment. So it was double whammy - an uninterested or obtuse creative and an unhelpful environment.
As you have pointed out, there is a change of guard at the channel level and at the PH level. Hope this new marriage works in favour of the show.
