Been strolling from the last few hours through the entire Malhotra mansion turned out to be major mind numbing herculean task for Nandini..After their sweet brunch..she shackled and unshackled the entire kitchen cabinets in every different pattern she could think of .. made a long imperative list of do's and don'ts accordingly set by Manik for her own safety..well that's he said..and then after a huge debate finally Manik agreed to give her a tour de mansion ..though she was now regretting it with every inch of her existence ..
Lights were dimming .. it was nearly evening now..and she was hell tired..drained out from all the walking..walking and some more walking..she never thought that Malhotra mansion would be this huge from inside.." I guess it has secret compartments.."-she thought..
"Stop Manik..I am so tired..can't we do this any other time..." - After a series of deep consoling puffs Nandini mumbled while leaning on the pillar..
"No problem doll ..as you say..but for now...let's go ..there is a surprise waiting for you.."-Manik spoke..
"Surprise..really..surprise..tell me na what is it ..?"- Nandini demanded..
"No..Not like this..you have to come with me..shall we.."- Manik forwarded his hand ..she smiled and gently placed her hand on his..
Embellished in all kinds of florescent light hues of Scarlets , Aqua and peaches ..their entire hallway was decorated with different swirling brazen lamps ..
"Wow..it's so pretty..beautiful.."- Nandini exclaimed as soon as she stepped inside..
"You liked it.."- Manik asked hugging her from behind..
"I loved it Manik..."- Nandini clapped her hands in joy ..and then as she registered every tiny detail..her eyes fell on a discreet round table which was precisely in the middle..and had a huge cascaded mouth watering chocolate ribbon cake along with a billboard saying
" Happy birthday my love..
Thank you so much for coming in my life..."
Tears brimmed in her eyes watching all this and she could only utter -" how do you know..I never told you..."
He came forward took her hand in his .. made her cut a huge slice of cake ..gently fed her and spoke.."why won't I know love ..you are the best thing that happened in my life ...I remember exactly a year ago I saw you for the first time.. and from then life never looked the same..."

"Happy birthday to you...happy birthday to dear Nandu..happy birthday to you.." - a certain group of people were merrily gathered in a cafe singing in chorus while there was a tiny petite girl in mid..
"Thank you guys..thank you so much..it's the best birthday of my life..."- she spoke with glint of happiness in her eyes ..
"Come on birthday girl..Nandu.. don't be a crybaby now..don't forget it's your birthday..and you are so strange Haan..who cries when they are happy.." - a guy in mid twenties spoke..
"Yeah..Cabir..don't tease her..I am telling you..if you don't behave na..I will break your bones and stuff your tiny throat with them.."-a girl glared at him..
"Wow..Mukti..the lady don..I am so scared .."- He enacted as he was shivering ..and as Mukti walked ahead to strangle him ..he ran away ..toppling every damn thing in his way.. Going through every nook and corner of the cafe..he finally found his solace behind a bemused Nandini who was going berserk watching all the drama .and whispered in her ears..-" Nandu..please save me ..please just this one time.."
"And why should I..you did all this..hmm..on my birthday..don't you think you deserve a tiny little punishment.."- Nandini pointed out toward all the mess they created..from the scattered food around the corners to the chairs lying dead on the ground..
"Sorry..Nandu..promise I won't ever mock you..and will do what you will say..but please save me from this bodyguard of yours.."- he raised his finger towards a furious Mukti who was on her way..taking huge leaps to ultimately gobble him down..
"Promise do you..you will do whatever I say.."- Nandini questioned..
"Yeah..yeah..totally..I severe on my brand new bike.." - Cabir gulped a huge lump down his throat..
After finally settling on what she wanted..Nandini smirked ..winked at Mukti..and screamed her lungs out...to put rest on their duel..all this while two keen pair of eyes were observing her each and every reaction ..the range of emotions that kept gushing on Nandini's face were dominantly registered in a slow pace while he was sipping on his hot chocolate ..and which he kept rewinding like a broken record according to his own leisure..
" I need her.." - he mumbled ..took her picture ..got up and went away from there hurriedly..

"Wow..you didn't tell me that ..why..I missed the chance to see you..."- Nandini pouted sadly ..
"I am sorry my love..if I had told you that..then it would have been no longer a surprise and tell me.. how would I get to see this spark in your eyes.."- Manik smiled ..pecked her swiftly .. latched onto her waist in a jerk..and then they merrily dance in shimmering lights of lamps..past till the midnight...

"Hmm.."- Nandini was in deep slumber snuggling in manik's chest when she felt a little thirsty..
"3 am "- The antique clock ticked as she walked past it ..rubbing her eyes .. she marched sloppily towards the kitchen..in her comfy nightwear..and that's when she sensed something moving in the shadows ...curiously she turned ..and found something...Unusually strange..
" Wow..that's new..I didn't saw it before.."- Nandini glided down the new found staircase ..
"I wonder what's in there.."- Nandini tried peeking through some strange dark room which appeared haphazard at first ..
But before she could do that ..she felt a tug on her hand and was sharply dragged upwards the same staircase by some unknown insuperable force ..and as she turned she found a similar known pair of brown eyes raging in fire..
"What were you doing there..answer me goddammit ..what the hell were you doing down there.."- And he dug his nails inside her flesh..
