I really don't think any words would suffice for what I feel after reading this.
The kid is gay and he feels weird around the others. That is something so understandable but also something which is an uncharted territory for me.
Nandini is sad. Manik is depressed and this kid is committing suicide.
The feelings you wanted to convey, hit me straight on the face with such intensity that I felt that I was somehow responsible for him feeling like this.

Shreya..Great start! what can i say.. this is just beautiful<3 Such an interesting topic, and so heartbreaking too towards the end. I wanna read more about this. You protrays his dillema and his confusion of wantign to play with girls and feelign attracted towards boys. That was just.. <3 Ooh and the mystery seems interesting too. I wonder who killed his parents and why. gives me a very harrypotterish feel ^_^ Overall, This was.. my throat was parched by the time i finished readign the prologue. it was intense, sad, beautiful yet mysterious. Love to read more on this.

Wow.

Just love the way you've portrayed the kid's various emotions... Missing his parents, confusion because he doesn't fit in, misery, his guilt when he thinks he's the reason his parents died, the way he clings to the few people who treat him with love, like he's "normal"... And the way his hopes are dashed when Manik stalls and the other kids make fun of him... The last part where he decides to join his parents was just heartbreaking and you've written it really well.

BTW, the way Manik was stalling the adoption (probably for valid reasons) and the kid misreading it and committing suicide reminds me of a similar scene from Kite Runner (not a criticism, just an observation; being repeatedly rejected by people and then being made fun of for being gay... too much for a young kid to take).

Apart from the tragic aspects, there was also a bit of mystery which I suppose will drive the story forward - the death of his biological parents, Nandini's sudden change in behaviour (no smiles, talking less), Manik not playing the guitar.

I've got a few theories.

Looking forward to the next chapter.
