PART - 45 HIS ARMS...!!
Hey... here is the next update...!! Extremely sorry for being late...!! But I am really stuck...!! With work...

MORNING 8AM-
The sunlight beamed... spreading light all around... cutting the darkness of the night ...!!
Two souls still unaware of the sunrise in the outer world...!! Were sleeping peacefully... after what seems like ages...!! They were in their own world...!!
One feeling... the hope that was still left in their relation... hope that they will be together really soon...!! And other feeling... secured... safe after a long time...!! And why not...?? She was actually in her heaven... the safest place for her...!! HIS ARMS...!!
Manik was still in the same position... that is his half lying position... with his head resting on the headboard...!! And his arm around nandini...!!
And nandini was sleeping... curled up to manik...!! Clinging on him... with her head on his chest... She had her hand wrapped around his waist tight... as if he would just vanish if she leaves him...!!
A different calmness was seen on both their faces...!! And The feeling of having their love close to them... was the reason behind that calm and content faces...!!
The room which once witnessed the broken... drunk... hurt... nandini...!! Is now having a calm... peaceful... and better nandini...!! There was a different aura in the room...!! The aura of pure and blissful love... the aura of positivity... the aura of peaceful hearts...!!
There was one more thing which this room witnessed... and that was the extra extra glow of those little... symbols of love ... who were celebrating this pure and true love...!! Just as once nandini had said...!! THE FIREFLIES...!! They were glowing... there on the table... seeing their favourite lovers ... sleeping together forgetting everything... !!
Though none of them has actually forgotten the past...!! Neither manik has forgotten his deeds and guilt... nor has nandini forgotten her pain...!! But still as it is said... A PEACEFUL SLEEP IS THE ONLY THING... WHICH MAKES U FORGET ALL THE BAD THAT HAS ONCE HAPPENED...!! AND MAKES RELIVE THE BEST PARTS... OF UR LIFE...!! And indeed they were having a peaceful sleep being close to each other... so... even negativity... couldn't gather all its guts to even think of coming near them...!! But every sleep is meant to be broken... whether it's the most peaceful... or most unpeaceful...!!
So finally... the sleep of nandini broke first...!! She flickered her eyes... to open them properly...!! She looked around and found herself in her room...!! She felt something under her head... and then she finally had a look on it...!!
As she looked... she found herself wrapped up in manik's arms...!! She saw her position... how she was actually clinging on him... with her head on his chest... hand tightly wrapping his waist...!! And legs curled up... like a ball...!! Then she noticed how manik was sleeping... straight... with his one hand wrapped around her shoulder... and the other... under his head...!! She found he was sleeping... with his head on the headboard... basically in trying to comfort himself... he put his hand behind his head...!!
She then realised... how she last night slept while hugging him on the terrace... and then she had a blur memory of her saying him to not to leave her...!! Then she easily guessed... that he stayed back because of her wish...!!
While being her thoughts she didn't realised she was still lying there with her head on his chest... her hold still the same... on him...!! Neither did she feel the need to change her position...!! She was feeling an unknown peace... her trance broke when she felt movement under her...!!

When she was busy in her own world ... even manik's sleep broke ...!! He then looked at his surroundings... and remembered why was he here...!! He then looked down only to find nandini clinging on him...!! He admired her sleeping figure... how she was sleeping with her head on his chest...!! He smiled seeing this...!! But soon his smile vanished as realisation dawned on him...!! He thought what might nandini say...!! though he didnt felt anything wrong... and somewhere knew even nandini won't feel this to be wrong this time ... but still he had a fear...!! As he remembered how vulnerable she was last night...!! He felt himself taking the advantage of her vulnerability...!!
So he thought of getting up from the bed...!! He moved in order to settle nandini properly on the bed...!! And that's when nandini realised he was awake...!! So she instantly closed her eyes... to avoid any awkwardness...!! As she knew she was the one who insisted him to stay...!! And manik thought she is still sleeping...!! So he removed his hand first... and then removed nandini's hand from around his waist...!! Then made her lie down on the bed properly...!! He then got up... and stretched his body... to release... the pain that he was feeling on his neck...!!
He then stood up... and adjusted the duvet over nandini properly...!! Had a look at her face... and that's when he got to know that she was awake... as he was manik... nandini's manik... how can he not know... anything about her...!! He got to know that she is faking sleeping...!! And he somewhere understood she was faking to avoid the awkwardness... and felt happy... that she didn't panicked... nor did she push him away...like everytime...!! She has started accepting him... so he thought to ease her... more by his words...!!
He then bent near her face... and kissed her cheek... followed by a forehead kiss... and then said softly...
Manik: (smiling) Thank you letting me close to u...!! Though unintentionally... but u have given me a hope...!! And I know my hope will win... because... if u are the key to my peace... then same goes with u... I know even I am the key to ur closed heart...!! And sooner or later... my love will open it...!! Because I LOVE U... BEYOND THE WORD LOVE...!! AND CAN WAIT TO HEAR THE SAME FROM U... TILL ETERNITY...!!
As he was saying all this nandini felt a rush of emotions all of a sudden... in her... feeling his pure love...!! Her breathing went uneven feeling his words...!! The truthfulness in his words... made her heart thud at a faster rate...!! She was still occupied with his words... but then was shocked... to what he said next...!!
With this he got up... only after kissing her forehead once again...!! And turned around to leave... but stopped and said..
Manik: NANDINI...!! I KNOW U ARE AWAKE...!! AND U DON'T NEED TO FEEL AWKWARD... FOR ANYTHING...!! BECAUSE.. U HAVE FULL RIGHTS ON ME...!! AND I WILL ALWAYS BE THERE WHEN U WILL NEED ME...!! AND THANK YOU FOR THIS PEACEFUL NIGHT...!!
Saying this he left...!! And nandini was still laying... with her eyes closed... and trying to register whatever he said... blushed... a little... unknowingly...!! All this while she thought she was a great actor... and was successful in fooling manik...!! But she forgot... she can fool herself for once... but not him...!!
As she heard the door closing she openned her eyes... and sat up on the bed...!! And touched her cheek and forehead... where he kissed her...!! And smiled a little...!! She took her fireflies jar... and saw them glowing... really bright...!! And since her room was still black... the glow could be seen clearly...!! Her smile brightened seeing them glowing...!! And then she just hugged her jar...!!
IN THE LIVING ROOM... 9 am
Manik came down... and moved to the washroom to freshen up...!! Then after freshening up... he went to the kitchen...!! As today navya was not there till now so he thought of preparing... lemon and honey drink for nandini...!!
Though he went to the kitchen with the aim to make the drink... but... he was The Manik Malhotra...!! Who didn't even have far off relation with the kitchen...!! Let alone cooking... but then he thought of trying atleast...!!
So he took out a lemon from fridge... and tried cutting it... but couldn't do.. as he even didn't knew how to cut a lime...!! He was trying and trying... but sometimes to lemon would slip or sometimes the knife...!! He made a cute pout on not being able to cut it...!!
He was trying... and was unaware of the two pair of eyes... which were watching him from far...!! And that was none other than nandini... who came down... after freshening up...!! She saw him struggling to cut a lime...!! She then remembered... something from the past... ( and I don't think there is a need to tell u all what she might have remembered... but still... if u don't know... then she remembered the drunk night... in college... when he tried cutting the lime...)
She was remembering the past... and her feet started moving on their own... to him...!! She reached near where manik was standing...!! And took the knife from his hand... that's when manik looked up... and was shocked to see her...!!
She took the knife... held it properly... and cut the lime...!! Manik was smiling seeing her... but then he moved to bring honey...!! He bought it... mixed in warm water...!! And then squeezed the lime... in it... and handed the glass to nandini...!!
And nandini didn't opposed... she took the glass from him... and drank it...!! As she finished... manik took the glass back from her...!! And wiped her mouth with his thumb...!!
(Manik was surprised... as today there was something different in nandini...!! Since morning she has been behaving calmly with him...!! Not for once did she taunt him... nor denied any of his words...!!
Nandini herself was feeling this change in her...!! She was also confused... with her behaviour...!! She isn't realising but she is getting healed by his love... care... and affection...!! She was changing... changing for good...!! And last night's encounter with him... made her realise that... he is the one who can pacify her... who can help her in maintaining her sanity...!! He is the one who can actual calm her...!! And his arms are the place... where she can find her lost peace...!!
It is said...
'' The best place I'd in the arms of someone... who will not only hold u at ur best...!! But also pick u up... and hug u tight at ur worst...!!''
And for nandini manik's arms... were the same...!! He held her when she was at her worst... feeling guilty... feeling lonely...!! )
Nandini was leaving kitchen... after having her drink... then manik said...
Manik: umm... practice in 15 mins on terrace...??
Nandini without turning back: can we practice in the living room...?? Wo I wanted to practice there...!!
Manik frowned first thinking why she wanted to practice inside... ad she herself liked practicing on the terrace...!! But then he realised the reason...
Manik: haan ok...!!
She was now leaving but again manik said something which not only stopped her but also forced her to turn...
Manik: Ur dad... will be very happy seeing u... trying to be happy... for him...!! Singing in front of him...!!
As he said this nandini looked at him... thinking how did he know she was thinking this...!!( Yes she wanted to practice in the living room... as yash's photo was there now...!! She wanted to show him that she is happy now... so that he comes back early...!! )
Manik smiled at her and left to arrange her Veena in the living room...!! And nandini was melting more thinking... he understands her feelings... without even her expressing them...!! She also left for her room... to have bath...
At 9.30 am
Manik was ready with her Veena in tha living room...!! He msged in the group asking where all of them are...?? But he got a reply... that they all are busy... with work...!! (But in real they wanted to give some alone time to them...) They asked manik about nandini... and got a positive response... all of them were happy...!!
As he kept his phone down after chatting with them... he realised... how will he manage food...!! Just then the bell rang and the care taker came...!! And informed manik that navya has called her...!! Manik understood... and instructed her to make breakfast for them...!!
As caretaker left to the kitchen... nandini came and first looked at the photo wall closed her eyes unknowingly praying that everything gets well soon... and then settled herself on the floor...!! She played for sometime... and then manik made her practice vocals... on lower notes...!! She kept practicing... she had a different determination... manik noticed her determination... to be well has actually increased after knowing about yash uncle...!! Manik was surprised feeling the bond between them... and was himself eager to meet him...!!
Nandini kept singing...!! For half and hour or more... but then her throat gave up... and she coughed...!! Manik got tensed and patted her back... to ease her... he then called for water... and caretaker came back with water...!! He made her drink with his hands...!! And finally she calmed a bit...!!
Manik: better...??
Nandini just nodded in response...
Manik: rest we will practice tomorrow..!!
Nandini was still finding it difficult to speak... and was breathing heavily... but she nodded in agreement as she realised even she can't sing more for now...!! Manik made her sit on the couch...!! Still rubbing her back... to comfort her...!!
At 11 am
They had their breakfast in silence...!! With nandini stealing glances at manik... and manik was in his thoughts...!!
Post breakfast... manik asked nandini for a walk...!! Nandini agreed... as she was liking him being around her all the time...!! They went for a walk... they talked nothing...!! But were just stealing glances at each other...!! They were walking on the footpath... nandini was looking at him...!! Manik was looking at her... just then he saw a cycle was to touch nandini... he just held her hand and pulled her closer...!! And nandini gasped...
Manik: (worry and concern all over his face) are u ok...?? Did u get hurt anywhere...??
Nandini was just looking at his face... she could clearly see the fear... care love on his face... manik shook her to bring her out of her trance...!!
Nandini then assured him that she is fine...!! They started walking again... but this time... manik kept holding ret hand ... he didn't leave her hand even for a second... and nandini was looking at their entwined hands...!! Seeing how protectively manik was holding her hand...!!
The day passed like that...
Evening 5 pm
Everyone reached nandini's place and found... manik on the couch with his laptop...!! And asked him about nandini...
Manik: she on terrace... exercising...!!
(Nandini went for exercising... at around 4 manik stayed there for sometime... but then he felt nandini feeling conscious in front of him... so he left... from there...!! To let her exercise by herself...!! )
Girls left for terrace...!! And boys settled in the living room itself...!! Cabir could sense something going in manik's mind...!! But before could ask manik himself said...
Manik: mat daura apne dimag ke ghode...!! Bata raha hu mai...!!
Cabir smirked: intelligent ho gaya hai mere saath reh ke...!!
Manik: IT'S NANDINI'S BIRTHDAY... AFTER 15 DAYS...!! AND I HAVE MADE A PLAN...!!

Phewww... finished... finally...!! Gave an update full of manan... to compensate for being late...!! Will try to give next part soon...!!
Till then keep thinking what is manik's plan...?? How will nandini react to his plan...?? Will girls be able to make nandini realise manik's importance...?? Will nandini's birthday help in bringing them closer...??
