I quite accidentally came across this show a week back. Yes, I heard about the famous kiss back in April/may. Hard to miss hearing about it, it was all over the media. But somehow I never got around to checking out the show coz of my preconceived notion that it might be too young for me. ( I am def out of my teens..in mid 20's). Anyways..cutting the long story short, I was feeling a lil burnt out at work and wanted a light entertainment. And I remembered this show. I started out with the intention of watching it when I wanted a distraction and ended up having a marathon watch. Completed 265 episodes in 4 days!!
Ugh.. Too many sleepless nights!!
To say that I loved the show and most of the characters is quite an understatement. The story about friendships, love and life was wonderfully portrayed. I didn't fall in love with the lead pair immediately, it was quite gradual. But the chemistry was fantastic, they just draw you in with it. The script and romantic scenes were so well written and so well enacted by PANI that it leaves you with goosebumps. The only disappointment apart from the season finale for me was the consummation scene. I feel since they gave us so many intense scenes with genuine kisses before, that this sort of fell short of expectation and that was a lil disappointing.
At this point, I had no idea of the drama going on behind the scenes. About the show ending...or season2 or Parth quitting etc. I decided to look up PANI's behind the scene segments for their banter offscreen. To my shock, they have no such relationship offscreen and can barely be cordial in their segments. Which was saddening...and I looked at most of the offscreen videos to read between the lines for something on the lines of friendship between them. Sadly there was none. They seem to bond well with others on the show but not with each other ...I wonder if there was something that triggered this?! Initially they seemed to have started off well...
Anyways, then came the next jhatka, Season 2 starting and Parth decided to quit! This was like IPKKND all over again...and I went no no...not again!! In case you guys aren't aware, IPKKND was a huge hit show on starplus and the lead pair were extremely popular. There..like here the male actor decided to leave the show for bigger and brighter opportunities on the big screen. There was a lot of hue and cry...trending to shut the show coz they couldn't see anyone else in actors shoes opp the female lead. Again, it was sad..fans were left bitterly dissapointed but took consolation that they had a closure for their onscreen couple. And I decided to never get attached to any show to that extent.
Coming to Ky2, it was hard not to love the show, but Parth quitting has put the show in jeopardy. Needless to say the endless dissapointments for the fans. I wish, he had stuck around till Manan had their closure. Plz be aware that I am not basher of any kind, I just like the pair (PANI/manan) and would have liked to see it end well. But now we are being treated to if he is/he isn't dead. Either ways the other characters don't seem be impacted with the 'missing' cabir or Manik. That's weird!!
Parth...Parth..i really hope you know what you are doing. Coz shows like this, that's more your age don't come a dime a dozen. You don't want to be sucked into a saas-bahu show, even if there are on the bigger channels. That totally will ruin your image. Also, the Bollywood dreams, unless u are backed by a major production house will be pointless. I say this coz I see many tv actors jinxing their fantastic present for a next could be better offer. Example being Barun, I am still waiting to see him hit big on the big screen. It's been 2 plus years since he left the show in a jinx and there has been nothing going on. Parth when u left, you take along with you the negative baggage/tag of being the quitter. If you do take up another fictional show, it's going to be tough for some or quite a lot of us to trust you to stay committed to that show. I for one wouldn't be watching that next one. But if you do get into movies..I wish you luck and hope it was big enough for you leave this behind. Another advise, regardless of your equation with ur co actor always, give her a mention in your interviews don't wait to be prompted. It shows your humility and doesn't come off seeming arrogant.
The rest of cast are doing excellent job. Miss cabir's character, loved his sense of humor and pjs. I hope makers have a brilliant script ahead to explain the mystery of the missing Cabir and Manik And why their close buddies are going about their lives as if nothing has changed.
I am going through a rerun of the series but I will stop at their consummation scene and keep that as a happy ending. But those of you in India.. Continue watching the serial, to support the others who stayed on with the show to entertain you guys. Don't let their hard work and commitment to the show go in vain.
Also, note to the makers, be sensible when portraying Nandini now, don't show a romantic link up for her. It's too soon.. And it will be disrespectful to the love she had for Manik.
That's it guys! If you have actually read the whole post.. Thank you for taking the time to do so! Lemme know what you think of it
