Manik turned the page to read the next diary entry. He saw it was the entry of the day after thei marriage.
"Hey diary,
You know all this marriage thing is nothing but a doom. I have lost my faith in love and I won't be able to love anyone except Manik now but he loves someone else. Usne ye marriage sirf Ravi uncle ke kehne se ki. Maine uske saamne smule kardiya but pata hai it hurts me so much. You know what vo bas ek baar aake bol deta to bhi main wedding ke liye mana kardeti but anyways you know that I LOVE HIM ENOUGH TO LET HIM GO
Bye diary".
Manik read it and remembered what happened at their first night after marriage.
Flashback
Nandini was sitting on the bed with her face covered with a veil. Manik came to his room and went to change his clothes. After coming back he told Nandini that he loved Jenny and married her for Ravi uncle's sake. Nandini smiled faintly and went inside to change. She went to the bathroom and cried.
Flashback end
Manik was feeling guilty now. He wondered how he could not see her love.
Next entry was after a month because Nandini did not wrote it regularly now.
"Hey diary,
Aaj ek month hogaya hai hamari wedding ko and Ravi uncle bhi chale gaye. I know Manik ab mujhse divorce lelega. Pata hai I stand beside yhe table everyday whenever he eats his dinner ye hope karke ki kabhi toh he would ask me ki maine khaya ki nahi but he never asked and so maine raat ko ek mahine se kuch nahi khaya. Sometimes I wonder how it would be to be loved by him. I wished I could be the lucky girl but anyways I LOVE HIM ENOUGH TO LET HIM GO. I know his happiness lies with Jenny.
Bye diary"
Manik noticed that the ink was spread a little which means she was crying while writting it something pricked his heart. He was in his thoughts when the servant called him to have his dinner. He went down and sat on the dinning table. The servants served him food and left. He started eating but stopped after two bites and got up and mumbled "I Miss you Nandini". He remembered how she used to wait for him when he had his dinner.
He went to his room and being very tired laid on the bed.
Manik pov
I am missing her so much. But why jab vo mere liye kuch matter nahi karti to phir but... main to uske liye matter karta hoon bohot zyada.
End of his pov.
After realising this Manik's heart swelled up with happiness. He just wanted to go and hug her but he was still to know her worth and so he controlled himself. He was unable to sleep without Nandini at his side. He wondered how in 3 months he was habitual to her. He got up from his bed and opened Nandini's cupboard and removed some of her clothes and laid them on the bed beside him. He could smell her fragrance now and after sonetime he fell asleep.
