Chapter-3 The excavating feelings
"Manik the vacations are about to end. Let's go for some shopping na please please please!" Nandini started begging Manik as it was only 3 days to July 1 and only 3 days for their classes to start.
"Why shopping when we can have some here... haan?" Manik said while slightly pulling Nandini towards himself.
"Shut up Manik! I need new clothes. The old ones are already SPOILT!" She said while freeing herself from him and stressing on the word Spoilt.
He knew what she was talking about, I cute grin spread on his face when he reminisced about that day.

It was around 7 in the evening and Nandini wasn't showing up to their date at 5. He thought of checking at her whether she is fine or not as she never took this much time to dress up.
He went inside her apartment with a spare key and found Navya sitting on the sofa with a face palm.
"What happened?" Manik asked showing concern as she was his would be saali
"Go see yourself." She replied while directing her hand to Nandini's room.
He went inside and saw her sitting cutely with a pout on her bed and he could clearly see what was disturbing her. There were more than 25 types of clothes spread on the entire bed.
As soon as she saw manik, she hopped towards him quickly and said, "Dekho na Manik, I am so confused. Main kaunsi dress pehnu? They are all so good!" She spoke cutely while shaking his shoulders.
"Oh this is the problem? It's so simple! I will solve it." And without waiting for her reply, he leaped towards the bed and picked up one dress without even seeing at it and placed it at one corner and then he took all of the remaining dresses in one hand and threw them out of the window, straight into the beautiful lake surrounding her apartment.
"MANIK! WHAT DID YOU JUST DO?!?!?! ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND LIKE SERIOU..." Nandini was all red in anger and was spitting everything except sugar at him but Manik's slight kiss stopped her and calmed her down.
He lightly hugged her and said, "I've chosen that dress for you. Aur rahi baat unn dresses ki, they were confusing my pretty doll that's why I threw them. We will go for shopping before the college starts again, okay?" He smiled and nuzzled her more close.
"You act so cute Manik. I loved all those dresses you need to buy me better than them." She exclaimed while kissing his cheeks.
"I will for sure. Now get ready, we are already too late." He said and pushed himself out of the hug.
"But Manik you didn't even have a look at the dress." She stated and pouted waiting for his response.
"Because I know that my angel would like beautiful in whatever she wears." He said and leaned down for a kiss.
"Stop buttering okay? Go wait outside!" She pushed him aside and went into the bathroom smilingly.
That was a pretty wonderful date for both of them as Manik asked her father for her hand via Skype. Nandini had already told her father about Manik and he was eagerly waiting to have a talk with the guy. He was happy with Nandini's choice but still wanted to meet him once and consult his wife before taking any decision to which Manik happily agreed understanding the circumstances.

"That was one of the best days of my life!" Manik spoke and smiled. "Chalo get ready we are going for shopping."
"Okayyy!" She exclaimed and gave a tight hug to Manik before returning back to her room.
He, in turn, just smiled and received a call from Cabir.
"Ya bro kya hua?" He spoke casually.
"Yaar we really need to talk! It's very important. Come now!" Cabir spoke on the other end, huffing.
"I can't Yaar I need to take Nandini for shopping." He immediately declined as he wanted to spend time with his lady love.
"It's about Nandini only. Leave everything and come right away." Cabir said and Manik got his concentration into the talk.
"But.. Cabir listen, I can't!" He replied after thinking for a while.
"You have to bro! It's serious." Manik could clearly listen Dhruv's voice behind him but ignored it and agreed unwillingly.
As soon as he kept his phone inside his pocket with a heavy sigh he heard Nandini's voice, "Go Manik, it must be something important. We'll shop tomorrow."
"Are you sure?" Manik asked trying to read Nandini's face.
"Yes, I am. Now bye, go!" She ordered him smilingly and started pushing him out of the door.
"Okay I am going, take care and call me if anything happens." He stated while concerning.
"Okay papa!" She flickered her doe eyes animatedly and shut the door bidding him adieu.

"What was so important that you made my love sad?" Manik spoke as soon as he entered inside Cabir's room. There was Dhruv, sitting with his cap and a face palm, with a weird expression plastered on his face. Cabir was staring Dhruv awkwardly and no one spoke a word.
This was all noticed by Manik and he spoke, "Did you guys just made out?" He tried to tease but it didn't work. He only received a glare from Cabir and a sigh from Dhruv.
"Acha okay sorry, now tell me what happened?" Manik asked getting a little serious.
"Dhruv likes Nandini." Cabir stated and smiled sarcastically.
"So what? Don't you like her?" Manik asked frowning his face.
"Abe Gadhe! Dhruv use wo wala like nai krta jo main karta hun. Dhruv use wo wala like krta hai jot u krta hai!" Cabir said with an annoyed expression.
"What? Main Nandini ko like nahi krta, I love her!" Manik exclaimed and made a face. He wasn't able to get a single word which was said by Cabir.
"ABE DUFFER DHRUV KO NANDINI PASAND HAI! HE IS ATTRACTED TOWARDS HER! PYAAR JAISA HI SAMJHLE KUCH!" Cabir shouted and again smiled sarcastically leaving a shocked Manik behind.
