Nandini's Thoughts~ After hearing about Dhruv and my engagement I got so shy I ran upstairs. I felt awkward as my dad talked about the topic since he's a guy and well I wished mother was here. I texted Mukti bhabi and she said she's coming, but I don't know why appa dislikes her and dislikes me hanging around with her. But for now I just can't believe I am getting married to Dhruv. I admit I had a crush on him when I was a kid. But what if he changed?
-Knock on door-
Nandini: Arai hu
Nandini got up from her bed to open the door and saw Mukti standing there.
Mukti: So???
Nandini: So what?
Mukti: Tumhari shaadi ho rahi hai!!!!
Nandini blushed.
Mukti: Tum blush kyu ker rahi ho? Tumne to usse dekha bhi nahi hei. Oar waise bhi foreign larkay barey kaminey aur dhokaybaaz hotay.
Mukti was saying this from jealousy that a bhenji type of Nandini was going to get married to a guy from USA while Alya just got rejected again.
Nandini: But, Dhruv aisa nahi hoga, I can sense it.
Mukti: Pagal larki, waise mangi kistra karo ge?
Nandini: Appa said that he was going to come to India after the engagement, toh iska matlab...
Mukti interrupted her.
Mukti: Ewww. Skype pe? Well Alya ki mangni toh bare grand hotel me hoi thi.
Nandini: Par woh to toot bhi gayi.
Without realizing what she had said, she quickly apologized. Mukti felt like smacking her face.
Mukti: Well anyways, mujhe to Abhimanyu ne diamond ring di thi engagement pe, so did you get the ring yet?
Nandini forgot about the ring and quickly remembered that Mahesh Uncle had put in on the table downstairs.
Nandini: Bhabi vo to main niche hi bhool aayi.
Mukti: Chalo phir niche chalte hain.
They walked down stairs and found the ring. It was a princess cut ring with a diamond in the middle and two sapphires on the sides.
Nandini: Bhabi it's beautiful.
Mukti also thought it was pretty cute. But she didn't express it.
Mukti: Haan achi hai. Hogi koi $2k (126k indian rupees) ki. Lekin istra ke chotay motay tofay to Manik mujhe har waqt deta rehta hai.
Nandini felt a bit awkward by Mukti's statement. To change the topic she started talking about Abhimanyu.
Nandini: Anyways bhabi, how's Abhi bhai and Pari?
Mukti: They are absolutely fine, Oh sh-t I forgot to tell Abhi I was coming here well Nandu mujhe ghar jana hai. Bye dear take care.
Nandini: Awww bhabi why are you leaving so early, it's always bhai's fault for making you leave early! Bhabi take care and bye.
Mukti drove back to her and Abhimanyu's mansion. Nandini just stayed in the garden when her appa came.
Mukesh: Nandini beta dekho mein tumhare liye kya laya hu.
Nandini's appa gave her a Chanel perfume.
Mukesh: Beta yelo meri taraf se tumhari mangi ka tofa, yaad hai tum kehti hoti thi ye scent tumhe bohot acha lagta hai?
Nandini: Aww appa you are so sweet! Aapko pata hai bhabi ye perfume istemaal kerti hoti thi. Ijust love her choice appa.
Nandini's appa frowned at this, as he disliked Mukti's influences on her innocent Nandu.
Mukesh: Beta tumhe paata hai na ke meine tumhe kitni baar kaha hai ke Mukti se itna attatch na ho. Vo nahi achi.
Nandini: Lekin appa bhabi to itni sweet hai. Vo kabhi bhi mujhe hurt nahi karengi, I know it.
Mukesh: *Sighs*
It was 9 pm and as usual the two besties, Mukesh and Mahesh were about to leave for their daily evening jog after dinner. Nandini who was continuously looking at her ring was worryless. Meanwhile at the jog Mukesh and Mahesh got surrounded two goons with guns and a motorcycle.
Goon 1: Apne sare paise do!
Mukesh and Mahesh panicked and started taking out their wallets. Unfortunately they were two slow as the goons had no patience they shot them both and road off. It was 10 pm Nandini got worried as her appa hasn't arrived yet. She called both of their phones which were not responding. Then suddenly a mysterious voice picked up.
Nandini: Appa aap abhi tak ghar nahi aayi everything is okay na?|
Voice: Madam mein iss raaste se guzar raha tha aur phone baja to meine niche uthaya aur yaha do bande letey huwe hai.
Nandini: K...kya?? Kya kehe rahe ho tum?
Voice: Mujhe lagta hai ke vo guzar gaye. Unke sar mein se khoon nikal raha he.
Nandini shattered and tears made their way down her cheeks. She managed to ask the guy the place exactly where they were and disconnected the call. She called her bhai.
Nandini: B...bhai
Mukti: Nandini main bol rahi hu. Tum ro kyu rahi ho?
Nandini: Mukti bhabi some goons just shot and killed appa and Mahesh uncle.
Mukti had the phone on speaker, and Abhimanyu started having tears in his eyes as well. He took the phone.
Abhimanyu: Bache don't worry we are coming.
Nandini had tears everywhere on her face. Abhimanyu, Mukti, and Pari (Pari's 5 years old if you are wondering) had arrived. She hugged Abhimanyu and they both were crying. He patted her hair and calmed her down. The next morning the funeral was held. Abhimanyu had informed Dhruv about the deaths and he said he would be coming as soon as possible. The two soul-less bodies were burried. After a couple of days Nandini had to move into her bhai's house since she couldn't stay alone. Dhruv came to his dad's house (which was next to Nandini's dad's house as well). Dhruv saw Nandini and went over to her.
Dhruv: Nandini?
Nandini: Dhruv... tum yaha...
They both were shattered inside but managed a small smile since they were meeting for the first time after so long. Nandini invited him for tea and they both talked about their parents.
Meanwhile at Manik Malhotra's Mansion, Alya's fiance called the wedding off on the phone as he found out Manik is her brother. Alya was crying and Manik came.
Manik: Alya stop crying, over someone who's already dead.
Alya: Bh...bhai you killed him? Why???
Manik: He hurt my sister thats why.
Alya: Bhai issiliye lkoi bhi mere se shaadi nahi kartra.
Manik: Don't worry Mukti kki bhi love marriage hui hay na? So don't bother with these arranged engagements. Mujhe pata hai ke meri pari si behen ke saath koi bhi pyar ker sakta hai.
