CHAPTER-7
"Sir may I come in?" I asked my boss. Today I had to clear my doubts.
"Yes manik come, sit here. M just going to call you.
"Yes you have meeting tomorrow with our most important client, I hope you remember that n Is your presentation complete?"
I was silent after that questions.
"Manik why are you silent? What is your progress in this? I hope your presentation is complete. Hai na Manik? Answer me"
What to answer sir? I have nothing to say n that damn presentation I just completely forget about that. Now I have to spend my whole day on that.
"Don't worry sir. My presentation is almost done. I will do my best always."
I said confidently without any confidence.
"Complete that then soon ok. N I hope for the best from you always too. You were here to talk something haan?"
That was true Manik Malhotra always gave his best.
"WO... Doubts.. "
"What doubts manik?"
"Nothing sir. Sir I wanted to ask from you that.."
"That... Say something more manik pls."
"What's your daughter's name?"
"Nandini. Her name is nandini, ...my daughter nandini. But why you are asking this? You have got some clue for her na manik tell me please."
"Sir you haven't told me everything about her n your past so how will I know her?"
He became so happy by just thinking that at least I had some clue for her. He loved her so much then how? I mean how she hates him so much.
"What are you thinking manik? "
"Sir, first I want to know about your life, your family n I promise that I will find her. Because now I can't see you like this always, always feeling guilty."
He got up from his place n came to me n than caressed my hair n blessed me.
"Thank you so much manik. Now m feeling why I haven't told you about her already maybe she'll be with us today. But sorry today I have so many meetings but I promise to you too that I will discuss my life with u maybe I will feel better by sharing n we'll find nandini too."
"We will surely find her sir.OK then I'll take a leave from here n have to complete that presentation too."
"OK n listen there is party tonight at my house to celebrate our new deal so don't forget to come OK."
"How will I forget that? Will surely come sir"
"Nandini!! Nandini!!"
"What happened manik? Why are you shouting so much? I have ears too OK."
"U know what nandini you are the most talkative girl whom I have ever talked seriously. I mean for just your 1 word, you replied with almost 15 words."
"Leave all that. You tell me with how many girls you have talked" she winked.
"I haven't talked with anyone because girls talked with me everytime"
"Oh really??"
"Why are you staring at me like this? You don't believe me na it's OK today you'll see it yourself."
"And how I will see all this?" She asked crossing her arms.
"At the party where we are going tonight. So pls be ready at time OK. I will come to pick up you."
"Party? What party???"
"Party at my boss's house. And I know what you are gonna ask now Manik, what will I do there?"
"Nothing you have to just accompany me there ok"
She was just going to open her mouth to ask one more question but I already knew that what's gonna it be so I answered it.
"M taking you there because even I get bored in these types of party so I need a company to entertain me. N yes I know that instead of entertaining me you will just irritate me but what to do I don't have any other option"
"Manik I think I need a knife"
"Knife???? But why?" I asked confusingly.
"Because I want to murder someone with that knife."
"N who is that unlucky someone"
I asked her still confused
"God... What to do with this boy...this idiot?"she murmured n I understand that if I will irritate her more than definitely she will go to jail n I will...just forget it.
"Nandini pls be ready on time OK n now I have to leave as I have to complete my presentation so bye will see you later."
After completing presentation. I myself get ready because it was already late but at least now my presentation was complete. I knew that now she'll scold me as usual for being late. I went to her house to take her to the party.
"Knock! Knock! Anyone there? Nandini please open the door. What are you doing inside?" I was knocking on her door since last 20 minutes.
"Manik please wait there for some more minutes please."
"Ok"
I knew that something was wrong with her but she doesn't want me to know.
After some minutes she came outside wearing a beautiful blue saree n she was looking damn beautiful ummm... Looking like an angel wearing that. I was awestruck looking at her.
"Manik close your mouth please. And ab chale?"
"Are you OK?"
"Obviously manik. Why?"
"Because you are looking much more weak and pale"
"Nahi it's nothing manik. We are getting late so let's go."
"Nandini...look at me and tell me have you eaten your food?"
"No"
"No means what Nandini? You should be careful about this n we are not going any where now so come with me."
"Kahaan? Kitchen mein. You are again going to cook. Oh thank you so much. I like my cook very much by the way. So what you are going to cook?"she said cheerfully just to divert the topic.
"Nandini just don't try to change the topic okay. Now go to your room n have some rest."
"OK OK I will but at least tell me what you are going to cook?"
"Today even your cook want holiday so m ordering your food. Tell me what you want to eat?"
"Anything"
"So today you are going to enjoy my favourite food."
"Thanks"
"For what?"
"Bas aisehi."
"What???"
"Is it OK for you to not go there?"
"Yes it is but I need to inform sir that m not coming."
"OK then inform him. M going upstairs."
I informed him. First he was upset by this but he understands that it must be something important for which I was not coming. There was one more reason for not going was that according to me Nandini needs sometime to prepare herself to meet him.
SO NO MEETING FOR TODAY MAYBE DESTINY HAS SOME OTHER PLANS FOR THIS MUCH AWAITED MEETING OF A FATHER AND A DAUGHTER. LET'S SEE HOW N WHEN THIS MEETING WILL BE?
