@Genie: Haha.. you only value it cuz I indulge you so rarely😛
But LOL such a nitpicking, naysayer you've turned into.. what happened to selling the 'hope'?😉😆
Anyway, who says Nandu's monologues are annoying or the audience don't have patience for them? Remember 100th episode (hospital track).. the highlight of that one was Nandu and her one-sided convo with an unconscious Manik.. she literally carried that episode solo.. and no one thought she leaving him was a good idea or that all of it was her fault even then.. but still the empathy with her character was there only because people could SEE her inner turmoil.. but then what did they do after that? They made her cry bas.. Not think, ponder, worry, second guess nothing.. just one dimensional cry.. comparatively even delusional Manik had more meaningful dialogues.. THAT is what brought about the disconnect.. and by the time the final walking away happened, people had no patience left to see/try to guess her side of things.. Now personally I have many many problems with the execution of that track (as you're well aware from my previous rants- gaze et al😳) but this is a major one definitely.
They repeated the same mistake with the M'lore track too.. Her reasoning for the leaving was justified yes, BUT there was no translation of that thought process onscreen. She made her decision to leave achanak after witnessing that group hug and uske baad what, again all they gave her to do was cry. Now if Niti was not a nuanced performer, or couldn't pull off subtle thinking, I could understand them doing that.. But when you have such an expressive Nandu at hand, why would you squander that by making her a pitiful one dimensional object instead? Such a waste!
We can empathize with Nandu because we choose to reason like her, we make that effort to consider her perspective but for those who don't, the connect is instantly lost, haina..
They should've cut down on the disgusting Soha delusions and given screen space to Nandu's dilemma instead.. if we can write entire essays discussing the pros and cons of it, then they could've made her actual character spout a few lines from that, if nothing else then for clarity's sake alone. Then atleast the audience wouldn't have jumped on her like they did.😛
The Pandit track- This started off really well, especially the ambiguity of Pandit's intentions.. The biggest drawback here was Nandu's character sketch only. Because her MO is to repress and avoid thinking of unpleasant things, it looked like Pandit's bullying was having no effect on her.. Therefore, even though it played onscreen, the audience had no discernible relatable moments.. But still, so much credit to them for playing with perceptions regarding the touch thing.. another scene that deserves mention is the one of Nandu outside the classroom, when she's telling herself to be brave and just generally reassuring herself.. Such a powerful moment, this is where the connect was again restored and the audience empathy was on her side once more.. As long people can see her thoughts, the objective, unbiased viewers atleast will not turn away from her.. so just maintaining that much also most of the time will automatically bring gravity to her character.
Nandu is not one dimensional at all, they just don't utilize her arc as well they could bas. Anyway, it's a live and learn process isn't it?
Let's "hope" for better in the future😉😆
Dude I'm a nerd through and through, when will you learn🤓
But I REFUSE to discuss the early episodes. You know why😈
P.S: Who said I love you?🤔
@Geet: 🤗 Please do. Would love to hear your perspective.
@CooChi: What can I say? I live to make my fellow GOLDIE/pee partner proud😳
@Apu: Thankoos.. But please don't say such cheesy dialogues around Genie.. it will only encourage her😉😆
@RI: Bring it on😛
