Part 9

Nandini is in her clinic busy with her patients , she receives a message from manik

Manik : when will you be back

Nandini : 2 more patients more so I should be there in an hour.

Manik : come soon, I am at your place,

Nandini arrives home from clinic to find Shailaja and Venkatesh are sleeping in the room, so she goes to her room to find manik also sleeping on her bed holding her dupatta. She freshens up and then comes near manik to kiss his forehead. She did not want to disturb him , seeing him so adorably sleeping with her dupatta she could not resists the urge to kiss him. Manik wakes up with the peck on his lips

Manik : finally you are back.

Nandini : why are you waiting here for me .

Manik : since you went to your clinic I was missing you so I came here in your room to feel your presence .

Nandini : did you have your lunch ?

Manik : I am waiting for you.

Nandini : wait I will get it here only.

Nandini goes to kitchen and gets food in a plate , they both sit on bed and eat food from same plate only. Feeding each other turn by turn.

Manik : you did not tell me whether you liked the saree or no

Nandini : of course I like it.

Manik : then you will not wear and show me,

Nandini : nope , you can see me on the wedding day itself

Manik : I have asked ricky to choreograph a dance for us both as we can surprise sujata

Nandini : really that is good I get to dance with you

Nandini clears the plates after they finish eating. Manik asks her to show her childhood pics and they are in her room seeing her past photographs, and talking about their childhood, their College life, and about their friends. Ricky calls manik for practice they leave for their practice then sujata joins them for practice. once done with their dancing session they relax on garden bench.

Nandini : I think it going to rain.

Sujata : I think so.

Manik : I will drop you sujata before it starts raining.

Sujata : no manik harshad will be here any moment

Manik : finally i get to meet harshad.

Harshad comes there . side hugs Nandini and shakes hands with manik. And then holds sujata's hand.

Harshad : guys I have come here to invite you both for my bachelor's party it is tomorrow . please do come.

Manik : (looks at Nandini who gestures him yes with her eyes ) thanks harshad , we will be there.

Harshad : I have given invite to aliya and your other friends also , but Nandini is a special friend our cupid so I came to invite you both personally . (Turns to Nandini ) congratulations nandu - chupi rustam , I hope you will get married before we migrate to USA. Don't want to miss your marriage angel. You have one month's time

Manik : so love bird are migrating, you will practicing there sujata

Sujata : yes manik . Harshad is gynecologist, he practices in Ohio, I will practice with him in the same hospital

Harshad : ok guys need to move now see you all tomorrow , chale sujata.

Harshad and sujata leave from there , manik and Nandini are seated on the bench in the garden holding hands, finger entwined and Nandini resting her head on manik's shoulder.

Manik : as you said harshad and sujata have been in 10 years of relationship , so they must be spending quiet a lot of time together then how would you manage alone as you never told me about any other friend of yours.

Nandini - I would either spend time in library , attend lectures, sometimes with them if they are there otherwise come back home.

Manik : you never had crush on anyone,

Nandini : I toh never felt for anyone like I feel for you , but someone was there in my college who had a crush on me and never missed chance to express it

Manik : what, you did not tell me about him, you never felt for him or said yes to him . What is his name ?

Nandini : His name is satish and BTW do you think I made a mistake by not rejecting or not responding to him. Even now he is waiting for me to yes to him, should I ?

Manik : as you wish , actually even I have so many options i have a huge female fan following who are dying to get hooked on to me. Should I

Nandini : (angrily) as ...you...wish and gets up from the bench to walk , Manik runs behind her

Manik : arey nandu you only started I just improvised it. just joking baby

Nandini : i always feel insecure about your fans - female fans

Manik hold her in his arms.

Manik : dare you say yes to satish , I will kill you, you have commitment towards me, and I can't share you with anyone.

Nandini : even I am joking , why are you so serious, I have never considered satish , so why would I consider him now. i cant cheat with you. you are my most precious possession

It is dark and it begins to rain . manik and Nandini are enjoying getting wet in rain .

Manik : it is our first rains , I have to celebrate to make it special for us.

Manik pulls her behind a nearby tree , as it was dark no one could see them. manik caught her by her waist "Nandini," he groaned. He pulled her in his chest Nandini was feeling shy and looks down He knew she would be blushing so he just lifted her chin with his finger ,cupped her cheeks, very gently he placed a kiss on her forehead . He slowly moved towards her lips and kissed her. she responded back. He sucked her upper lip and she sucked his lower lip. He pushed his tongue inside her mouth and they shared a very deep passionate kiss. Her hands were on his heart she felt his heart beating fast, they were exploring each other's mouth. They were short of oxygen but did not want to break the kiss. Manik noticed Nandini was short of breath and broke the kiss and pecked her lips few times. Her whole body was on fire with the sensation of his touch, with his lips. He embraced her in his arms tightly, squeezing her. They stood embracing each other silently enjoying the serene atmosphere of the night. Nandini is shivering with cold, they move towards their home.

Malhotra's residence

Nyonika : you never give up the habit of getting wet in rain . now change immediately otherwise you will fall sick. You know na manik how bad is your fever.

Manik : now I am not small mom , I will manage.

Nyonika : manik I have news for you

Manik : news for me mom.

Nyonika : Shailaja has spoken to a pandit for your marriage, your both kundali have being matched and pandit has given two dates for your marriage , one is just 20 days away and the other is in 6 months later . I have Okayed for 6 months later one.

Manik : mom that's not fair -6 months

Nyonika : so you want even later than that, then there is one after 2 years

Harshvardhan : why are you troubling my son

Manik : even 20 days are more mom, think sujata is getting married next week , even that has to be auspicious day, why not that day we also get married

Nyonika : itni jaldi hai tujhe , you and Nandini are our only children so let us celebrate and enjoy your marriage

Manik : so final I get married on the 20^th day from today. Does Nandini know about it

Nyonika : may be

Manik : call her here na mom please. For me.

Bell rings manik is happy that it Nandini who came there

Nyonika : wow (looking at manik) tumne pukara aur woh chale aaye. What happened Nandini.

Nandini : we got wet in rain , so I have come with medicines for manik , otherwise he may fall sick

Nyonika : oh caring and all ha,, full on patni mode

Harshvardhan : that's why I told you na , she is best for manik

Nandini : uncle and aunty even your checkup is pending past two days no checkup is being done

Harshvardhan : no more uncle and aunty only mom and dad, waise bhi 20 days baad yahi bolna hai

Nandini : 20 days baad... matlab

Nyonika :Shailaja did not tell you. , your marriage date has been fixed, after next 20 days you will be Mrs. Nandini Manik Malhotra.

Nandini is blushing . to hide her blush she hands over tablet and syrup bottle to manik and asks him to take it and gets busy in checking Harshvardhan and nyonika's diabetes and blood pressure. Manik is just admiring her, caring for his parents.

Nandini : everything under control.

Nyonika : I have made soup nandu have dinner with us here , and don't worry I have informed Shailaja.

Nandini : Soup wow and what is there for dinner tonight

Nyonika : yakhni Pulao , you like it right

Nandini : perfect mom.

Nyonika and Nandini are busy in kitchen clearing the dishes when Nandini asks Nyonika to get rest as she will finish. Nandini after clearing the kitchen comes to living room to find manik sitting on the sofa watching movie and manik has still not taken the medicines . so she goes to kitchen gets glass of water and a spoon and forces him to have the medicines he signals her to come and sit with him. Nyonika and Harshvardhan have retired to their room. Nandini joins manik on sofa when her phone rings. Manik see the caller id , it was Shailaja , manik pleads Nandini to wait here

Shailaja : nandu , will it be late.

Nandini : maa I am watching a movie as soon as it gets over I will come back I have keys , so you don't worry you can sleep.

Shailaja hangs up the phone. Manik gets a quilt his bedroom and covers himself and Nandini as it is cold now due to rains . both are watching movie

Manik : just 20 more days of wait Nandini . then I won't let you go anywhere far from me Today is 15^th May , so we are getting married on 4^th June. so would be Mrs. Malhotra what do you plan

Nandini : I am nervous and numb at present , I can't think of anything, everything is happening at lightning speed

ManiK : we need not bother about marriage that mom will take care of . I am thinking of our honeymoon. Where do you think or rather where do you wish to travel ?

Nandini : what about your concert will it clash with the date.

manik : I have a concert in mid june I have no idea about the date, but it is in dubai , dates will finalized very soon probably next week. What about your clinic?

Nandini : my clinic has three doctors so if anyone wants leave then we adjust accordingly . manik don't you think we should have a low profile marriage , as the news of your marriage may hurt sentiments of your female fans.

Manik : don't worry... I can manage my wife... and also my female fans

Nandini : manik ... so okay then you go on tour for months with your female fans and I...

Manik : okay guns down no more teasing each other .

Nandini : better

Manik is but disturbed by what Nandini's insecurity towards his female fans and also his months long concerts . he indeed had to think about this months long tours, could he manage these now. He could not leave Nandini and stay away for months. but he does let Nandini see his worry as he thought he would discuss with cabir and try and sort this out. manik pulls Nandini closer to his chest. Kisses her

Nandini : love you

Nandini sleeps on his shoulder . he did not want to wake her up as she was so peacefully sleeping in his arms , but he had to as she had to go back to her house. Maniks wakes Nandini and leaves her till her home. Returns back and dozes off to sound sleep in his bedroom
