EK DUJE KE LIYE
PART1
Manik Malhotra , son of Harshvardhan Malhotra and Nyonika Malhotra, is a successful singer. He is the Lead singer of the FAB5 band. The other members of the band are ,Cabir, Mukti, Aliya and Dhruv. They are all best buddies since their school days. Since their passout from college, FAB5 is very busy doing concerts abroad and in India, and making songs for their album. they hardly spend time with their family. Harshvardhan and Nyonika miss their son very much though they video chat with him daily. They both want Manik to get married and start a family of his own.
Nandini Murthy , daughter of Venkatesh murthy and Shailaja Murthy, is Doctor by profession. Nandini is a quiet and obedient girl , always helping others. she is family doctor of Malhotras, and she is now their neighbour as her family shifts there three months ago. But being their family doctor and their neighbour she hasn't met manik and viceversa. Harshvardhan has a history of diabetes and blood pressure, and as Manik is not with them for past six months due to tour to America and Canda for his rock concerts, nandini is always by their side to take care of them. Both Harshvardhan and Nyonika are very fond of her and always wished that some day she will be their daughter-in -law. nandini's parents want to marry their daughter , so they keep updating nandini with photographs of boys for marriage, but nandini is not interested in any of those photographs becoz she feels there is some Mr. Right, who come for her.
It is early in the morning, Malhotra's door bell rings,
Nyonika : "Yeh nandini bhi, sunday ko bhi sone nahi degi, jogging par jaane ke liye uthane aa gayi". she opens the door and is surprised!!!!!!
"M A N I K !!!!!! tum , Bataya nahi Ki tum aa rahe ho? airport aate tumhe receive karne. Che mahine baad mile rahe ho" . tears roll down her eyes seeing her son manik after six months.
Manik : "surprise dena tha mom" , hugs her and kisses her on cheeks. "Paa kidhar hai?".
Nyonika : "So rahe hai",
manik goes to their bedroom and tightly hugs Harshvardhan lying on bed. Harshvardhan wakes up to be stunned to see manik . his joy has no boundaries, he can't believe whether he is dreaming or is it real. realising that he is actually seeing manik . the cries his heart out revealing how much he missed him. nyonika joins the hug. all three are content.
harshvardhan inquires about nandini with nyonika as to why she has not come today to take him for jogging ,
Nyonika : "even i m thinking that?"
manik : "nandini? who is she?"
Harshvardhan : "She is an angel. who helps us through everything , cares of us, keeps us busy , so that we do not miss you much and feel lonely, and always be happy".
nyonika : "seriously if it wouldn't be for her we would have broken down we were missing you so much, but she took away our lonliness. she is a doctor and takes very good care of us.everyday morning she will take us for jogging whether we like it or no. keep calling us in the day to check on us. evening we go out for a stroll either to garden or shopping and on holidays even for movies. she has given us the most valuable thing her time."
Manik is little sad on hearing his mom's words and feels guilty that he has no time for them.
manik : "so only mom i have come on a long vacation this time. so i will freshen up. and i am hungry too. make something to eat". saying this he goes to his bedroom. coming to his bedroom he feels at home and feels relaxed from his six months hectic schedule. he drops his luggage and doses off.
bell rings again
nyonika " ah at last nandini you are late darling".
nandini ; Good morning uncle and aunty ready to to jog. today you both woke up early"
nyonika : "Guess what? Manik is back, he surprised us this morning he is his bedroom. so no jogging today". she hugs nandini. nandini is very happy for them .
Nandini : : "Wow , so I guess i should leave see ya tommorrow i think you both should spend time with him ", nyonika stops her and request her to wait for breakfast as harshvardhan is very used to nandini.
nyonika; "Manik asked me make breakfast what should i make. you know na my culinary skills. what should i make"
nandini ; Chill aunty don't worry , i will make it for you you and uncle go and freshen up.
nyonika smiles at her and leaves. nandini remembers nyonika telling her manik about likes in food. so she bakes pizza and makes pasta for him . for harshvardhan and nyonika she steams oats idlis as they have cholestrol problems, tea and coffee. nyonika enters kitchen and is happy to see pizza and pasta , and thinks how considerate nandini is. nandini lays the breakfast on the table, nyonikas goes to call manik. accidentally while pouring tea nandini spills some on her hand. manik comes to the dining and just before he comes nandini leaves to clean her hand and dress in guest washroom. so manik and nandini still dont meet.
manik : takes bite of pizza and says "mom you have improved. tasty ha..."
nyonika : nandini made alll this and not me?
manik : stands and moves to other side of the table to pour coffee in mug while saying "Nandini again , who is this nandini? where is she ?". just then nandini opens the washroom door and walks out and manik and nandini come face to face. their eyes are locked on each other manik is astonished to see her cute face, those chubby cheeks, pouty rosy lips , dove eyes and long silky hair he was recording every detail of her beautiful face. and on the other side nandini was drowned in his brown eyes his masculine face.
nyonika : "so she is nandini our angel ,manik and nandini he is manik my rockstar , handsome son."
they both shake their hands to greet each other but their still have the eyelock. nyonika coughs to break their strance. blushing both manik and nandini occupy their seats on the dining table opposite each other. stealing glances at each other and having breakfast. manik was spellbound looking at nandini. both could not utter a single word. nyonika and harshvardhan were chatting while eating but both manik and nandini were lost in their world and paid no attention to their talks.
after breakfast nandini clears the table and goes to harshvardhan's bedroom and gets his medicine , checks his pressure and gives him medicines. manik was just watching her all this while but could not utter a word. he was dumbstruck seeing her. even nandini did not know how to start a conversation with him, the situation was wierd for nandini as she never felt so in her life for anyone. no man had had casted such spell on her as manik did. to save herself from this she bid goodbye and left with a promise to call back.
Manik : "mom does she come her daily"
.
nyonika : ":ya she is our neighbour"
manik was overjoyed to listen to this and went to his room . and began to sing for himself
