Chapter23
Scene1---*---*---*--- (harshad-aaliya's place , 7.15 pm)----*---
Aryamann entered in Harshad's house shouting his name.. Servants tried to stop him but he was fuming like anything.. Aryamann "harshad... Harshad."
Aaliya came there followed by fab3.. Aaliya almost shouted " aryamann stop it.. He is not at home.."
Aryamann fumed " Then where the hell is he.?. He wasn't there at college.. Don't trick me"
Aaliya irked. Aaliya " m not tricking u.. He hasn't come home after college.."
Aryamann clenched his teeth and shouted "bloody hell... damn it.." he took a pause , and pointing his finger at Aaliya said "u know what.. Ur brother is a coward.. But I won't let him run so easily" and with that he turned and walked towards door. Cabir didn't like it and moved to stop aryamann but Aaliya gestured him not to say anything.. Mukti and cabir looked at her surprisingly. aryamann left.
Scene2---*----*---- (competition venue --- back door of college, 7.30) ----*----
Manik was talking to a guy and Nandini was observing him from far distance.. Nothing was audible to her.. Manik took his phone from the guy and said "thanx man.. You covered whole performance naa?".. The guy nodded saying " yaa bro". Manik smiled and pat on his shoulder saying " ok thnx bye" and he hurriedly rushed to Nandini.
Manik was still a few steps away from nandini when she started her questioning session. Nandini " manik.. Who is he..? Why ur phone was with him? Is he from our college?
Manik " shhh.. Kitne questions krti ho tum.. Chalo back door se" Nandini "why back door.. U took Raghav Sir's permission na?"
Manik " yaaa.. I asked him.. And he happily said YES.. he can't say NO as WE performed so well.." winking at her. Nandini's blushed and trying hard to stop her smile, she asked "then why back door?"
Manik gave an excuse widening his eyes " have u seen the Crowd.. Front gate se impossible h.."
Nandini " But.. Manik.. Back door.." Manik shushhed her, grabbed her hand and dragged her towards the back door.. Nandini was surprised at manik's behavior.
Finally they reached the back door and found a board hanging on the door saying "gate will remain close till Saturday for security purposes".. Nandini smirked and said "Told u. Front gate se chalo.. Ab kya ye wall jump kroge?"
Manik thought for a while and smirked saying "Not a bad idea.." Nandini's eyes widened and her smile had vanished. She gave him a horrified look.. Nandini " manik..dekho.. I .. I.. I can't jump this wall. This is CRAZY.." taking few steps in backward direction but before she could get out of his reach, he immediately held her waist and pulled her closer . Nandini banged in his chest.. Manik smiled and Nandini's cheek became red.. She felt awkward and looked away.. But more to her surprise Manik pulled her up in his arms from her thighs.. She was dumbstruck at his behavior and was staring at him.. A little smile was about to creep on her lips just then manik said "what are u looking at..?"
Nandini realised that she should protest.. (LOL). Nandini " Manik.. Drop me down.. U are behaving CRAZY.." while protesting and clenching her teeth..
Manik smirked and said in his husky voice " This isn't the first time I picked u up.. It's just that... the way is different" and he winked at her and his smile grew wider..
Nandini was losing herself to his naughty smile. She kept looking at him. Her trance was broken by his voice. Manik teased her saying " u've no option. I know all ur SECRETS. Jaldi kro". He smiled again. Nandini smiled at his naughtiness and finally gave up. She held the wall with her cute little hands. Manik pushed her up and within no time she was sitting on the wall.. She forwarded her hand towards him.. Manik started laughing at her.. Manik " u really think u can pull me up.. like seriously" still laughing at her.. Nandini eyed him showing annoyance and said " oh yes. I can..huhhh " .
Manik laughed again and said " leave it.. I don't need ur help". He jumped at his place, tightly clenched the wall and in no time he was also siting on the wall leaving Nandini's mouth open.. her eyes got widened.
Manik narrowing his eyes on her " IMPRESSED hannn..?"
Nandini immediately closed her mouth.. Manik smirked. He turned and jumped to the other side of the wall.. After caressing his clothes and hair reaching other side, he asked for her hand..
Nandini showing fake annoyance " like u don't need my help , i also don't need ur help"
Manik teasing her " like seriously.. Okay.. The ground is all yours.. jump naaa".. He took few steps backward making place for her. Nandini gathered all her courage, looked up in the sky and jumped.. Manik was shocked.. Nandini fell with a thud sound on the ground and cried " ouchhh.. Ahhh.. aaiappa.." holding her leg.
Manik rushed to her saying "Nandiniii... shit.". He knelt and touched her leg and worriedly asked "U hurt ..han..". Nandini cried more loud " ahhh.. Manik.. Don't touch ..ahh.its hurting.."
Manik angrily " Shit. Dia tha na haath.. kyu nhi pakda.." Nandini was surprised at his concern. Manik continued " Jungle me b u've hurt this leg only"
Nandini in a soft voice " u still remember ". Manik ignoring her sentence "jump krna zarrori tha. are u out of your mm"
Suddenly Nandini burst into laughter leaving Manik's mouth open.. In took no time to him to understand that she was just playing around.. He changed his expressions from worried to annoyed and said annoyingly " So u were fooling me?". Nandini kept on laughing.. Manik got more irked and stood up saying " u know what.. I won't go with u.. I will go alone.." . He turned his back towards her and started walking in an unknown direction. Nandini stood up still trying to control her laughter saying " manik.. Ruko na.. Listen na..".
Scene3 ---*----*--- ( aryamann's place , 7.50 pm)--*---*----*----*----
Soha was sitting on her bed with her head resting on the bed head in her room with all the lights off.. Suddenly aryamann walked in the room and turned on the lights.
Soha narrowing her eyes on him " m sleepy bhai.. let me sleep" Aryamann walked to her saying " ho gya..?"
Soha "matlab?" while stealing her looks.. Aryamann " u r waiting for Nandu to pour ur heart out.. Right?" Soha was shocked. She uttered "what r u sayinnn". Aryamann dragged her and pulled into a hug.. Soha hugged him back and a few drops of tears rushed out of her eyes.. Aryamann "I remember.. Today is mum-dad's anniversary.. U were trying not to turn off ur mood and that jerk.. But don't worry I won't leave him"
Soha broke down listening his words and hugged him tight. Soha "I miss mom bhai.. Why she chose to leave us ?.. " Aryamann was caressing her head .
Soha "Why they got divorced? Why every relation has so many issues.. complexities?. Can't life be simple?" and she sobbed.
Aryamann broke the hug and kissed her forehead. While wiping off her tears he said " don't let ur past affect ur present bebo.. Live in today.. Love urself.. And u r not alone. Ur brother is here... Dadi.. Dad.. Nandu h.. And sbse bdi baat u r my strong bebo.. Hain naa..?"
Soha nodded. Aryamann "naah.. Not like this.. SMILE kr ke bol" . Soha "hmmm" while smiling a little.
Aryamann "And I promise I won't leave u till my last breath.." while cupping her face..
Soha smiled with teary eyes and said "kha Nandu ki kasam" and both broke into laughter.. He hugged her and she hugged him back. Aryamann recalled the moment his mother left their home and a tear dwell into his eye but he didn't let it fall..
Scene4---**--------*------ ( roadside, 8.00 pm )-*---*----
Nandini was almost running after Manik while breathing heavily.. Manik was taking big steps with his hands in his pocket ... Nandini annoyingly "manik.. Listen na.. We came for a walk, not for a race.. Manikkk.. Ahhh.. Aaiappa"
Manik didn't listen and kept walking.. Nandini stopped and shouted "Manik..I can't walk more.. M hurt.. My leg is paining.. I won't annoy u more.. Pakka.."
Manik had stopped for a while. Nandini smiled seeing him stopped. But Manik thought "phoolan is not that innocent as she looks.. Must be fooling me again" and he started walking again.. Nandini's jaw dropped at that.. Nandini to herself "kadva karela..huh" while clenching her teeth. Manik couldn't hear her footsteps. He wanted to look back but he had no excuse. Nandini was taking small steps being tired and was murmuring to herself " my leg is hurt.. Kaise chalu main.. I hope stitches khul na gye ho". Manik saw her reflection in the mirror of a car and smirked seeing her annoyed face.. He kept walking with a smile on his face.. Suddenly he heard a voice " hey beauty.. kaha jana h.. Lift de dein.."
Manik's smile vanished.. He immediately turned to look back. He was facing Nandini's back.. Two guys on a bike were checking out Nandini and were giving evil smiles.. Manik fumed and rushed towards her.. Nandini was a bit afraid, she murmured " manik" while taking a few steps backward.. A guy out of two said "are itni raat ko akele.. Aao lift de dein.."
Manik was fuming like hell.. The guys noticed manik rushing towards them. Nandini had held her breath. She almost shouted " Maaann.." when she turned and bumped into Manik.. She looked into his eyes and sighed with relief.. Manik was fuming holding her arms.. He cupped her face and said " I AM RIGHT HERE.. Don't worry".
And he eyed those guys angrily.. They were giving tough looks to him.. One of those guys sitting at the back got down from the bike.. Manik moved Nandini aside while fuming in anger and took a step towards those guys. But before he could take another, Nandini had held his hand and had come forward.. Manik was surprised.. Nandini stood in front of Manik holding his hand facing those guys. Before Manik could react Nandini shouted " jate ho.. ya police ko call kru.. Ye campus area h.. Already kafi security h aas pas.." while gritting her teeth..
The guy sitting at the driver seat gestured the other guy and they left immediately.. Manik couldn't believe what just happened..
Nandini turned to him and asked " IMPRESSED .. Hannn?" . Manik immediately closed his mouth. Nandini teased him saying " waise tum wapas kyu aae?" manik irked and tried freeing his hand from her grip. But to his surprise Nandini didnt let him do so.. Nandini " first say SORRY.."
Manik looked at her in disbelief and asked "sorry!! Me? U did mistake and sorry main ?"
Nandini making a sad and angry face "how could u leave me like this.. aise akele.." Manik's heart melted at that.. He felt guilty and uttered "Nandini I . I am really SORRY.."
Nandini's eyes got widened and she burst into laughter leaving his hand.. Manik kept looking at her being surprised..
Nandini still in her teasing mode " awww.. Poor manik Malhotra..." While trying to control her laughter she said " He is seeking an apology... Wo b.. Wo b.. jo galti.. usne ki nahi.." And she again burst into laughter.. Manik's jaw dropped at that.. He pointed his finger towards her while clenching his teeth .. But Nandini was laughing like anything and he stopped right there.. Her laughter was melting his anger.. He was mesmerized with the beautiful smile she had then on her face. He was happy with the happiness she was getting by irritating him.. He could control and smiled.. He had never seen her like that.. Her smile, her mischievousness, her laughter, and her star like twinkling eyes were making him weak on his knees.. His loved filled eyes were just staring her. He moved his finger that was pointing towards her and touched her nose.. Nandini had stopped laughing seeing manik like that and became conscious.. Manik also came out of his trance..
She gulped her saliva and uttered " BHUTTA" . Manik " BHUTTA" while following her gaze that ended on a vendor who was selling bhuttas. Meanwhile Nandini had rushed towards the vendor.
Manik following her " are.. Wait.. Listen.." But she didn't look back . Manik to himself "dude.. This girl will make u crazy" . He smiled while ruffling his hair..
Scene 5----*--* (aaliya's place , 8.15pm )--*----*----*----
Mukti was angrily walking to and fro in the garden and fab3 watching her sitting on the sofa.
Mukti "wow aaliya. His sister gives u attitude despite of the fact that u apolozied her on ur brothers behalf.. Girlfriend manik ko freshers pe punch deti h.. and he himself is shouting at u.. and u..u didn't say a word.."
Aaliya sighed and said " bcz SOMEONE has told me not to get angry." Mukti smiled sarcastically and said "I know who is that someone." Aaliya looked at her surprisingly. Mukti "wahi..tera KJ. Right.. Tu ajkal us so called REAL author k VIRTUAL world me hi to rehti h."
Aaliya giving fake smile said "yaaa.. whatever" and then thought " why m I thinking about aryamann"..
Dhruv "mukti. Relax"
Mukti "tu.. Tu to aj hero bn gya.. But let me tell u dhruv.. U r too innocent to judge that girl.. She is not a poor soul.." And mukti left from there.. Aaliya followed her saying " mukti.. Listen to me.."
Dhruv was lost in his thoughts.. He recalled soha's teary eyes, her frustration and their first encounter.. Suddenly Cabir jerked saying "shit.. Manik ka performance"
Dhruv also jerked saying " oh God.. Buddy ko ek b call nhi Kia" dialling Manik's number.
Scene 6----(road , 8.30 pm )-----*----*----*--
Manik on phone in an excited voice "hey buddy what's up.?" Dhruv (phone) " bahut khush lag rha h.. U won the competition. right?"
Manik (phone) " woh.. No. I mean. result is not out yet.. Main toh..woh..." giving himself a mental pat for being over excited.. Suddenly he heard cabir shouting " kya faltu baat Kr rha h.. Give me the phone"
Cabir (phone) " saale. Weather kaisa h?"
Manik being annoyed "Cabirrr.. Weather.. like seriously? U asking this.. U guys didn't call me once. Nandini k friends subeh se 20 call Kr chuke"
Cabir teasing Manik (on phone) "Friend yaaa bf?" Manik annoyingly "Cabir. he is not her boyfriend.. He is her best friend" watching Nandini taking two BHUTTAS from the vendor..
Cabir (phone) " really.." and laughed like anything.. Cabir (phone) " who he..? I didn't take any name" Manik was caught.. He gave himself a mental slap again. Manik " chal. result annouce hoga to I'll call u..bye"
Cabir "are.. ruk na. Waise where r u right now?" Nandini walked back to manik with a broad smile on her face holding two Bhuttas.. He gestured her to stay quiet.
Manik " woh. I came for a walk.." gesturing her to continue their walk. Cabir "akele?"
Manik stammered "yaa.. Ofcourse.. Yaha.. Aur..aur kaun hoga" while walking.
Cabir " u have ur jacket na.." Manik " jacket!! Ya..why?"
Cabir " damn.. rainy season.. Night... Cold air currents.. Jacket aise SCENE me bahut important h"
Manik didn't get what cabir said. He said " M getting late.. bye" and hung up. Nandini gave a questioning look to manik . Manik " what..?" Nandini" why did u tell me to stay quiet.?" while giving him BHUTTA.
Manik " aise hiii" taking the bhutta from her hand and inspecting it carefully..
Nandini "u don't want ur friends to know what's going between us." while looking at his face and chewing the bhutta grains..
Manik smirked and asked "what's going between us?" Nandini choked listening that and realised what she said.. She coughed badly and had stopped walking.. Manik also stopped immediately and started rubbing her back.. Nandini was still coughing badly.. Manik looked around and saw a Dhabba nearby.. He rushed to Dhabba and in no time he was right in front of her with a water bottle in his hands..
Nandini was still coughing.. Manik " u okay.. Lo PaNi.." and he made her drink water from his hands.. Nandini who was still nervous drank water like a two year old baby spilling it all over on ground.. Finally after drinking more than half bottle she sighed with relief. Manik's heart was going out of control looking at her.. He wanted to clean her the water droplets from her lips, her chin but he knew that that would make her more nervous.
Manik " relax.. U okay na.." She nodded.. Manik "U always talk while chewing food." Nandini recalled the night at camp when manik had made her eat food forcefully with his hands.. She smiled a little. Manik gestured her to walk.. And they started walking .
Manik" I know our friends don't know certain things about us.. But I can't tell them bcz harshad and FAB5 can never be friends".
Nandini "Why u guys hate him sooo ..." Manik "Harshad is the most wicked, cheap and dangerous man i'v seen in my whole life.. Trust me".
Nandini narrowing her eyes " Manik .. But he has been always so nice to us.. Me.. Navya.. U might have judged him wrong.." Manik " Nandini.. let's not talk about him.. plz" .
Nandini nodded and he continued" FAB5 can't be friends with him but that doesn't mean that we... We two can't be friends" while looking straight. Nandini looked at him being surprised. Manik continued "I mean.. We can try to be friends.. U know"
Nandini smiled and said " okay.. So u mean.. We r trying to be friends"
Manik smiled and shrugged his shoulders still not looking at her.. Nandini also smiled and they kept on walking for a long time without saying a word and with big smiles on their faces..
Scene 7 ---***---------- (aryamann's place, 8.55 pm)------**--------
Navya to soha "tum theek ho na.. hume aise bulaya.". Soha gestured her to see aryamann . Navya saw him and started her acting by faking her smile "tume kya hoga.. tum bilkul theek ho"
Soha looked at her raising her eyebrows and said " Bhai knows everything." Navya's smile had gone and she asked "acha.. kaise?" soha "leave it.. u tell me how r u?"
Navya again faking her smile "hum. Hum to ekdum MAST. Hume kyaaa..". Aryamann " yaa.. both of u are MAST.. and alike.. give fake smiles to hide ur pain." And he escaped from the scene dialling nandu's number. Navya was dumbstruck.
Soha "navya.. One must be blind, if he can't see what you feel for that..." Navya took a sigh and said "to tumne hume yaha apne lie nhi. humare lie bulaya" . soha smiled.
Navya sadly "hum pehle bahut roe. Fir socha acha hi hua jo hume jaldi sb pta chal gya.. aur ab tumahra concern dekh k to hume bura b nhi lag rha.. nandu ne kaha b tha k ye Infatuation ho skti h.. wo sahi thi. Pyaar hota to dard hota bahut." Soha hugged her and navya hugged her back.. Soha asked "Do u still believe in love". Navya "hmm.. Par hum smaj gye k pyaar k lie do logo ka ek dusre ko janana zarrori h. Kuch time saath chalna zarrori h"
Scene 8-----***----(roadside , 9.10 pm)---*----*----
Nandini and Manik were walking silently with broad smiles on their faces.. Suddenly Nandini got aryamann call and her smile grew wider.. manik looked at her with curiosity.
Nandu annoyingly (on phone) " maddie.. don't talk to me" . manik was observing her from the corner of his eyes. Suddenly Nandini became worried.. Nandu "Busy.. don't tell a lie.. Ur voice is saying kuch hua h. Now tell me."
Manik was feeling jealous but he thought "its normal. M also concerned for my friends."
Nandu "aaiappa.. aj to.. uncle aunty ki anni.." she took a pause and said "m sorry. Competition k chakkar me..." (pause) " soha theek h na. give ur phone to her" (pause) "kya navya..ohhh. Good.." (pause) "result announce nhi hua.." (pause) yaaa.. M fine.. (fumbling) acha u take care of her.. I got to go.".(pause) "hmm. don't forget to drink milk...bye"
She hung up, looked at manik and said "aryamann. He hates milk. But I love bournvita milk so wo roz raat ko bournvita milk peeke hi sota h.." manik gave a fake smile.. Nandini continued " he thinks that I don't know that he drinks milk just to please me.. but I know his every breath." Manik couldn't smile this time and asked "he is.. ur.. ur best friend".. Nandini "no.. he is my ONLY best friend". Manik was feeling even worse.. He uttered "nandini"
Nandini "hmmm" while rubbing her shoulders.. Manik saw her and understood that she was feeling cold.. Nandini "say na.." manik "yaa.. wo.. what do u.. what do u think about me?"
Nandini's eyes got widened listening that and blush started flushing through her cheeks to ears.. she shivered due to cold air currents.. Manik saw her rubbing her shoulders again and took out his jacket while walking.. Nandini looked at him confusingly. Manik stopped. Nandini also stopped seeing him.. Manik stood closer to her and wrapped his jacket around her shoulders.. Nandini's heart was racing fast.. She was loving this naughty, sweet, caring Manik.. Manik uttered "bolo na"
Nandini uttered "all of a sudden.. ye kaise.." while stealing her looks..
Manik "aise hii.." . Nandini looked into his eyes and said softy "manik.. U said u know all my secrets.. But I also know one of ur biggest secret"
Manik was speechless.. He thought " does she know I.. I.. Love.."
Suddenly Nandini said " I know that.. That... That.. u are not a kadva karela" and she burst into laughter again.. Manik annoyingly " not again.. Today u r annoying me so much." And he started walking again.. Nandini composed herself and ran after him.. Nandini " manik.. Listen na...".. She rushed and stood in front of him making an innocent puppy face. while gazing at his face she said in a baby's voice.. " acha.. Maine itna chotu sa mazak Kia aur tum naraz ho gye.. Tum jo meri diary leke muje pareshan Kr rhe the..uska kya..?"
Manik looked away and mentally smiled at her innocence.. Soon after composing himself he pretended to be annoyed, giving her a damn angry look he said in a loud voice "if I bully u , then I make up for that.. I made u SMILE" and again looked away.
Nandini became serious and immediately uttered " m.. M sorry manik.. I was just trying to behave normal with u.. Because Whenever u r around na.. i feel so nervous.."
This made Manik turn his head to look at her.. Nandini's eyes got widened after realising what she had just said. She immediately turned her back towards him.. Manik confused "nervous!! But why..?
Nandini not knowing what to say made an excuse " bcz u always tease me.. that makes me nervous...han.."
Manik smiled a liitle at her cuteness.. And playfully said " okay..to I'll not tease u ab se.. But Jo tumne itna sb kia na.. u have to make up for that .."
Nandini after a few seconds of thought process turned and said " okay.." while biting her lips.. She said wondering " what I have to do.."
Manik "ummm.. I ask u later..abhi mood nhi h..but don't back out .. Han"
Nandini innocently blinking her eyes and nodding her head " Nandini promise.."
Manik was loosing himself to her innocence.. He sighed and composed himself.. He said " chalo..ab wapas" while dragging her holding her hand..

Almost a special manan update.. No??. Well important thing is that a full drama in on the way after this light cute walk..
