Chapter 20.
Scene 1 ---*-----*-----(inside the bus... 12.10 am)-----*----*----
Lights were off.. Only a dim light was coming through the driver's chamber.. Bus was moving with a high speed..Nandini was fast asleep.. Manik was awake but his eyes were closed.. Nandini's head was slowly sliding towards manik's shoulder.. Manik was unaware of that..
And with a slight jerk, she had slided more towards manik. and now her head was resting on manik's shoulder.. This made manik open his eyes ..Manik was taken aback.. He moved a little bit..
Nandini also woke up from her sleep.. But after realizing that her head was resting on manik's shoulder she immediately closed her eyes out of nervousness..
She pretended to be asleep before he could see her face.. She gulped her saliva.. Her head was still resting on his shoulder..
Manik was confused not knowing what to do.. He thought of sliding away from her but after seeing her innocent face, he couldn't.. He was lost..
Manik saw a strand of hair fallen on her face.. He slowly moved his left hand and tugged that strand behind her ears.. Nandini gulped her saliva.. Her mind was saying " get up nandu...why are you pretending" but she herself was wondering why she is not able to move.. There was something that was not letting her get away from him..
And there came one more jerk.. Nandini jerked and had held his left arm tightly.. Manik had immediately held her right hand just to save her from falling...
Her hands were soft like a baby's hands. Sometimes Manik was looking at her one hand which he was holding in his hand. Sometimes he was looking at her another hand with which she had held his arm..
Manik was melting with her touch.. His heart was racing fast.. He kept on looking at her..
With a turn on a highway, Nandini's head get shifted to his chest.. His heart was beating really fast.. So was Nandini's..
Nandini wasn't sure if it was the turn on the highway or she herself that was pushing her more towards him..
Manik sighed and closed his eyes.. Nandini said to herself " no.. Nandini.. Its not right.. Get AWAY from him"
But before she could move her hand with which she was holding his arm, Manik himself freed his hand from from her grip without disturbing her.. he slowly moved his hand , placed it on her forehead while wrapping her shoulders in his arm..
Nandini was confused.. Manik slowly dragged her head from his chest to his shoulder.. Nandini not knowing what to do , was just co-operating with him in her pretended beauty sleep..
After making her head rest on his shoulder , he removed his hand from her forehead and wrapped it around her shoulder..
Nandini felt his touch and closes her eyes more tightly.. Though their was a frown on her forehead but it wasn't visible to him.. Nandini's heartbeats were clearly audible to her..
Nandini opened her eyes a little and looked at their left hands which were now entangled .. She then moved her eyes to see his right hand that was on her shoulder..
Cold wind had started blowing... And that wind through the window made her hair blow and fall on his face.. Manik closed his eyes and smelt the scent of her beautiful locks.. Manik thought " why she is so irresistible?"
He opened his eyes and saw some strands of her hair fallen on her face. He slowly moved his right hand that was on her shoulder to remove those strands.. While removing those strands he rubbed his hand against her cheek..
She shivered due to his touch.. Manik felt that shiver of hers . He thought it was because of the wind.. .. He leaned to close the window still wrapping her shoulder in his arm.. but stopped realising that he they had come really closer.. Their faces were too close..
Though Nandini's eyes were close but she was feeling his warm breath on her face.. Manik stayed in that position for a while looking at her face.. Bus honked, Manik came out of his trance and back off ..
Nandini was still shivering .. Realising this manik had started rubbing his hand slowly against her shoulders and thought " she is so soft.. Like a rose petal". He was lost in her irresistible charm.. He rubbed her shoulder for a while and then slowly moved his hand to her elbow.. He dragged her closer and shift himself more closer to her so that she could sleep more comfortably.. Nandini was in a sub conscious state.. She was not able to think..
Both were lost in each other.. Both had closed their eyes and were asleep in few minutes..
Scene 2---**----(1.30 am)-----
Nandini was sleeping with her head resting on manik's shoulder.. While manik's head was resting on her head.. Their left hands were entangled . Manik had tightly clenched her elbow wrapping her from back whereas Nandini was holding his arm tightly.
After sometime Nandini woke up and came into her senses and worriedly thought " what m I upto.. He has a ... He has a gf.. " and she slowly moved her head from his shoulder still pretending to be asleep..
Her movement made Manik woke up from his sleep.. He corrected his head and slowly freed her from his tight grip while looking at her.. Her eyes were closed..
Nandini slowly moved towards window pretending to be in deep sleep freeing their entangled hands.
Manik looked at their hands while she was freeing it from his grip.. He felt as if he had woke up from a sweet dream. He did'nt want to let that dream go off his eyes.. But unwillingly he composed himself.. He sighed and thought" she is someone's gf.."
He shifted himself away from her..and closed his eyes resting his head on seat head..
Nandini with a frown on her forehead" why.. Why i was pretending?"
Scene 3--*---*--early morning (4.20 am ---*---
It was drizzling... A few drops of water fell on their face.. Nandini moved a little bit whereas manik woke up.. And what he saw was again like a dream.. He was holding her just like the last night with his left hand on her left elbow while wrapping this hand around her from back and their right hands were entangled..
He closed his eyes for a moment , rubbed them and he again looked at themselves not believing what he was seeing.. But it was real.. He was continuously blinking his eyes..
He saw a few drops of water on her face and shoulder.. He moved his hand from her elbow to her shoulder cleaning those water droplets.. He then moved his hand to her cheek and rubbed her cheek with his thumb..
This made her open her eyes.. She slowly opened her eyes and saw their position and jerked away.. Manik immediately composed himself and look away..
Nandini thought " main fir se kaise aise.. raat ko to main manik se door ho gai thi.. .. How I didn't realise..aaiappa.. How will I face him..? What am I upto.. Kya soch rha hoga wo? "
Manik thought" dude.. What I am upto.. Now how will I face her..kya soch rhi hogi Wo? Kbhi toh I show that I hate her and sometimes I show that I..."
He took a pause and thought " why I am so concerned for her?"
Scene 4---*-----(4.30am)--------*-)-------*-------
Bus had reached the venue.. Driver turned the lights on.. A teacher from other department made an announcement" wake up everyone.." but to his surprise Nandini and manik were already up.. He smiled and said " good.. You two seem very excited for the competition.. Already up..good .."
Manik gazed at her but she was looking outside the window.. He immediately stood up from his seat, took his luggage and got down from the bus.. Nandini saw him going..
Scene 5----*-----*-----*------(outside the bus)--*------*-------
Raghav to manik nandini " u guys go and take rest.. They have arranged rooms for students in their hostels... I will see you at 8 after breakfast.. Tab hum rehearsal krege..okay."
Manik-Nandini nodded..
Scene 6-*-------*--------*----(a garden)---*----(5.30 am)
It was a cloudy morning.. Sun has risen but was least visible.. Cool breeze was blowing.. Nandini was sitting on a bench in a garden that was behind girls hostel while looking up in the sky.. She was wearing a white kurti with light blue jeans..
Her hair was blowing due to the strong breeze and was falling on her face.. She was removing those strands from her face ..

Nandini to herself " I think it will rain today.." and as she looked down her eyes fell on a colorful butterfly that was sitting on a flower.. A big smile appeared on her face..

Nandini immediately stood up from the bench and took out her phone.. She went near to the butterfly.. But before she could click a picture of that butterfly, it flew away ..

Nandini stomped her foot and making a cute face said " ahhh.. She was so cute.. So colorful.. Aisi Maine pehle kbhi nhi dekhi. Ek picture lene dete aaiappa.. Huh.." ..

She looked for the butterfly but it wasn't there.. Nandini made a bechara sa face while pouting her lips and turned ... And ..

Manik had clicked a picture of Nandu in that cute frowny pouty face.. Nandini was shocked.. She said " how dare u.? Tum meri pic kaise le skte ho.. Without my permission.."
Manik showing fake anger " hello.. I am least interested in clicking your pic...okay.."
Nandini didn't utter a word..
Manik" I was just trying to capture a beautiful-cute ... " he had stopped and was intensely gazing her face.. Nandini blushed and looked here and there..
Manik " a beautiful-cute butterfly" leaving her mouth open..
Manik widening his eyes and mocking her " u thought .. Main .. Main tumhari pic.. God... U r so self obsessed.. han... U think u r so beautiful, cute., charming, irresistible k main tumhari pic lene k lie.."
Nandini was embarrassed.. She was stealing her looks.. She recalled something and turned .. Manik " hello.. M taking to u.. Why u r not looking at me?"
Nandini without answering him took some big steps towards girls hostel ..
Manik " listen.. Wait" and he caught her hand and with his entire strength pulled her ..now her back was touching his chest.. She looked at him and they had an eyelock.. Her cheeks turned red thinking about last night incidence and Manik had a smile thinking about last night..
Nandini saw him smiling and said to herself " not again.." . She jerked away herself from him and look away..
Manik got annoyed.. Manik angrily " i don't understand why are u hiding ur face..?"
Nandini gritted her teeth, looked at him and almost shouted " because u only told me not to show my face .. Yaad aaya.?"
Manik recalled his words and was speechless.. Nandini in anger " i m just following ur instructions Mr. Manik Malhotra.."
Manik fumingly " oh really.. I thought u only listen to ur boyfriend.."
Nandini " ya .. I only listen to..." and she suddenly stopped being surprised.. She uttered " boyfriend?"
Manik " oh really..? Ab don't act as if tumhe kuch samaj nhi aa rha.."
Nandini was still giving confused looks to him..
Manik raisnig his eyebrows " Your mad boyfriend maddie..". Nandini was shocked.. Manik " ab khadi Kyu ho..ja rhi thi na..go.. Go to your bf or do one thing na ..just call him.. Your one call and he will be here.." ( super jealous)
Nandini annoyingly "tum kyu ho yaha.. u go to ur gf.. Aaliya" ( seems jealous too)
Manik shouted " Aaliya is not my gf". Nandini clenching her teeth " Han to Maddie b mera bf nai h"..
And after realizing what they just heard Manik - nandini in unison " what..? Come again.." with their eyes wide opened..
Manik stealing his looks " we..we broke up" Nandini was shocked . Manik" kafi time ho gya.." still stealing his looks..
Nandini" but aise kaise.. Harshad didn't say anything about.."
Manik fumed listening Harshad's name and said "because nobody knows about it.. Except FAB5 and .. And you.." he took a pause and said " and don't u dare telling this to ur bf "
Nandini " he is not my bf.." she took a pause and said " he is my best friend.. My childhood friend.. Wo to bas mazak me.. Yuhi gf bolta h..." looking down..
Manik couldn't believe his ears.. He asked " so.. You mean.. Wo.. He is just a friend.." Nandini made an innocent face and nodded.. Manik was so happy inside but couldn't show it.. Nandini too was feeling something good but was clueless what it was..
There was a silence.. Both were stealing their looks , and were confused not knowing what to say next.. Suddenly they heard Kamini's voice.
Kamini -" aap dono yaha kya kr rhe hain..aur Nandini hum aapko kab se chatraavas me dhoond rhe hain"
Manik " Wo.. We were rehearsing" while smiling.. Nandini's jaw dropped but she nodded in a yes..
Kamini smiled and said " yeh toh acha h..chaliye Hume 8 bje mil k sunte hain apna gana"
Manik-Nandini smiled and nodded. Kamini had gone.
Manik was about to say something but Nandini interrupted" M tired.. See you at 8.." .. She wanted no more embarrassment.
Manik " Don't go.." Nandini's eyes widened..
Manik " i mean..wo.. Song..."
Nandini" tujhe chahu betahasha"
Manik's jaw dropped listening that..
Nandini continued " zahenaseeb.. Ye song kaha h sir ne prepare krne ko.. Kr Lena practice" Manik composed himself and nodded.
Nandini turned and took a few steps towards girls hostel.. She had a big smile on her face.. Manik was also smiling endlessly.. Nandini put a finger in her mouth, bit her lower lip and then slightly stroke her forehead smiling and blushing..
Manik ran his fingers through his hair and nodded his head while smiling...
Scene7 -*----*----*---girls hostel--*-----*--- (6.15 am)----
Nandini was walking through the corridor of hostel while smiling like a fool.. Everyone was looking at her.. Nandini to herself "stop smiling like an idiot.. But why i am smiling..?"
She called aryamann but stopped thinking " Wo raat ko party se late aaya hoga.. Let him sleep." then she called Navya..
Navya " hellloo" in a sleepy voice. Nandu excitedly " hello.. Goooddd morning.."
Navya rubbing her eyes " are..are.. Itni subeh.. good morning.. Bahut khush lag rhi ho.."
Nandini was caught.. She gave herself a mental slap.. Nandini " nahi..wo wo. Weather itna acha h..na..islie..party kaisi thi?"
Navya" dekho.. Humara dhyan mat divert kro.. Kya hua?" Nandini " pta nhi..par.. KUCH TO HUA HAI .." and she hung up smilingly..
Navya " hello.. Hello. Are kaat dia call..kya hua ise"
Nandini entered her room. A random girl from the dance group of space to nandini " hey ..we were waiting for you.. Kuch ga k sunao na..plss"
Nandini was smiling like an idiot thinking about manik..
Scene8--*--( boys hostel)---------*---
Manik was smiling like an idiot while walking through the corridor. Suddenly he jumped excitedly and said " yes.. I knew it.. I had a feeling.. Aisa ho hi nhi skta...us phoolan ko kaun jhel skta h." .
He called Dhruv but he didn't receive his call. Then he called cabir .
Cabir in a sleepy voice " hmm.. Bol.."
Manik " Abe.sale.. Get up.. see it's a beautiful morning.."
Cabir still in a sleepy voice" i know Teri morning beautiful h.. Time waste mt Kr.. Gana gaa."
Manik -" what?"
And cabir disconnected the call..
Manik -"hello.. Hello." he looked at his phone and said " gaana?"
Scene9-*----*)-----*-----*girls/boys hostel---*-------*---
Nandini had started humming
Nandni " kuch to hua h..kuch ho gya h."...( While smiling and twirling slowly with her arms opened..)
Manik -" kuch to hua h..kuch ho gya h.".". ( smilingly entered his room..)
Manik -"Kuch To Hua Hai, Kuch Ho Gaya Hai...(2) ( boys was surprised at this.. The Manik Malhotra was dancing with joy)
Do Chaar Din Se Lagta Hai Jaise.. ( a random boy asked "jaise"?)
Nandini -" Sab Kuch Alag Hai, Sab Kuch Naya Hai..Kuch To Hua Hai, Kuch Ho Gaya Hai" ( she was twirling with much happiness on her face and was continuously smiling)
Nandini -" Cheezein Mein Rakh Ke Bhool Jaati Hoon, ( making a confused face, searching something in her bag)
Bekhayaali Mein Gungunati Hoon ..Ab Akele Mein Muskuraati Hoon ( while smiling and giving her head a slight pat,she walked out of room, girls followed her)
Badli Hui Si Meri Ada Hai.. ( she smiled, nodded her head while twirling and dancing)
Nandini" Kuch To Hua Hai, Kuch Ho Gaya Hai" ( she made an exit from the hostel gate while dancing and twirling, girls following her)
Manik -" Pighla Pighla Hai Dil Mera Jab Se.. Achcha Rehta Hain Mood Bhi Tab Se ( while making an exit from his room without looking back and bumped into raghav)
Haske Milta Hoon Aaj Kal Sab Se..( he smiled and hold his ears to apologize, raghav was wondering if he was the manik Malhotra)
Khush Ho Gaya Hai Jo Bhi Mila Hai .. ( still dancing and jumping in joy ). Kuch To Hua Hai, Kuch Ho Gaya Hai ( and he walked through the corridor while dancing).
Nandini while dancing in the same garden " Rang Chamkilay Saare Lagte Hai.. Raah Mein Bhikre Taare Lagte Hai.." ( while twirling a random girl along with her)
Phool Ab Zyaada Pyaare Lagte Hai.. ( smelling a flower )
Mehki Hui Si Jaisi Hawa Hai ( feeling the wind with her arms wide opened)
Kuch To Hua Hai, Kuch Ho Gaya Hai ( while twirling)
Manik while caressing his shirt's collar.. " Dhyaan Ab Apna Zyaada Rakhta Hoon.. Sochta Hoon Main Kaisa Lagta Hoon.. " ( pretending to think by holding his chin)
Aaina Ho To Dekh Leta Hoon.. ( looking in the mirror hanged on the wall of corridor , and caressing his hair)
Kaise Yeh Chehra Aisa Khila Hai ( he smiled and walked towards the hostel gate, boys followed him)
Kuch To Hua Hai, Kuch Ho Gaya Hai ( manik entered in the garden .. )
Nandini who was twirling while feeling the cold air on her face had stopped listening his voice.. Both were surprised seeing each other.. Nandini was blushing with a little smile on her face. Manik was smiling.. Both were lost in each other..
It started drizzling..
A boy waved his hand in front of manik and asked him to continue..
Manik " Yeh Nasha Jisme Dono Rehte Hai"
Nandini " Yeh Laher Jisme Dono Behte Hai"
Manik "Ho Na Ho Isko PYAAR Kehte Hai"..
Nandini was taken aback.. She couldn't utter anything.. Her heart was beating fast..
A girl shook Nandini and asked her to sing.. She came out of her trance. And sing "PYAAR Mila To, Dil Kho Gaya Hai"
Everyone in unison "Kuch To Hua Hai, Kuch Ho Gaya Hai"
Everyone was revolving around them singing "Kuch Ho Gaya Hai, Kya Ho Gaya Hai"
Manik and nandini were lost in each other... Both had a little smile on their faces.. Everyone in chorus "Kuch Ho Gaya Hai, Kya Ho Gaya Hai ..Kuch Ho Gaya Hai, Kya Ho Gaya Hai"..
Everything seemed to be beautiful to them.. The breeze, flowers, the birds, people around them even the whole world seemed revolving around to them singing the LOVE SONG for them..
Suddenly it started raining heavily.. Everyone ran from there into their respective hostels.. Manik and Nandini were still standing there looking at each other..
Manik to himself " now I know why m so concerned for u .. I am in love with you.. Nandini.." still lost in her..
Nandini to herself " now I know why I was pretending last night.. I am in love with you.. Manik." still lost in him..
It was raining too heavily.. they were drenched from head to toe.. But least aware of it.. Suddenly they heard a thunder storm.. Nandini got scared, she jerked and hugged him tightly.. Manik was taken aback.. And he slowly hugged her back..
Nandini was the one to break the hug.. Manik didn't want her to leave her but unwillingly he had to.. She moved back, looked at him , felt shy and turned.. Manik kept looking at her.. Nandini's back was facing him.. She was smiling.. she saw a tree and ran to it so as to take shelter..
Manik kept looking at her.. She was under the tree looking at him.. Manik slowly moved towards the tree.. With his increasing steps , nandini's heart was beating much faster.. Manik reached to her, and she was too nervous.. She held her breath as he get more closer to her..
Before she could move , manik held her arms and asked her not to move while nodding his head.. And with his expressions he asked her to look at her shoulder..
Nandini being confused looked at her shoulder and a big smile came on her face.. It was the same colorful butterfly sitting on her shoulder ..
Nandini slowly moved her head to look at manik stiil smiling.. Manik took his phone and bring his face near her face.. Both smiled.. And he took a selfie..
