Chapter 35
Scene 1 ---( Music room, 9 am, monday)---
Cabir walked in the music room and was surprised to see Manik already there sitting on a chair and was smiling while peeping into his phone.. Cabir thought to himself " Manik Malhotra. time pe.. Kya baat h. And why he is smiling?"
Cabir walked on his toes without making noise.. And found the reason of Manik's smile. Manik was seeing some pictures.. Cabir put his hand on his mouth while trying to control his laughter.. Cabir composed himself and called Manik's name loudly " Manik.!!"
Manik panicked and immediately hide his phone..
Cabir acted as if he had not seen those pics.. Cabir " These days u have become so punctual and regular.. Sunday bhi miss nhi krta.."
Manik while hiding his smile " ha ha. Poor one"
Manik composed himself and said " Ahh. Cabir... I... I want that pic of US.. Wohh.. That
bus wali pic.."Cabir acted ignorant " US? BUS?. When did WE got clicked in a bus
Manik gritted his teeth and said " Cabir..!
Us means.. Me and Nandini.. tune pic click Kia tha na. I want that pic.."
Cabir " Why?"
Manik surprisingly " what why.. I want that pic."
Cabir " aise toh I want sunny leone . Give me sunny leone I will give u that pic"
Manik annoyingly freaked "Give? Sunny Leone? I am not her owner. I can't give her to u"
Cabir " but I'm the owner of that pic.. and I don't want to give that to u".
Manik freaked " Cabirrr. ! Stop ur nautanki..! I want that pic.." and he tried snatching cabir's mobile.
Cabir " Nooo.." while jerking Manik away.
Manik " I want that pic !" while snatching the mobile with both hands..
Suddenly Nandini entered and was shocked to see the scene..
Manik couldn't say anything and Cabir got perfect opportunity for his rescue.. He pushed Manik away and took a deep breath..
Cabir " thank God. U came.. U know what.. He.. he wants an exclusive picture of ...". Manik eyed him gesturing him not to tell Nandini.
Nandini" EXCLUSIVE pic? Whose exclusive pic.."
Cabir playfully " EXCLUSIVE picture of.. Of sunny Leone.." leaving Manik's and Nandini's eyes wide open in shock.
Nandini uttered "
Ex.. Exclusive?" while looking at manik in disbelief.
Manik " No. No. No..." while shaking his head in no..
Cabir hide his smile and whispered near Manik's ear "all the best.. Told u.!
Jealous girls are dangerous.." And he walked to the door..
Manik " Cabir.! U moron! U liar!". But cabir didn't listen and left the room.
Nandini's face was red in jealousy and she made her sit on a bench.. Manik walked to her saying " Nandini. I don't want any exclusive picture of any girl..". Nandini didn't reply and was fuming..
Manik " aree.. Don't u know Cabir? He was..."
Nandini fumingly "
all boys are the same!!.. i'm not talking to u.." .
She stood up and walked to keyboard.. And started experimenting with that.. Manik walked to her and put his hand on her shoulder saying " are baba.."
Nandini jerked his hand and was about to move her hands from the keyboard but Manik immediately held her shoulders from behind... Nandini tried jerking him.. But he didn't let her do so rather he made his grip tighter on her. She gritted her teeth and again tried to jerk him away.. But she couldn't.. Manik smirked seeing jealous Nandini struggling like that..
Manik smiled playfully and asked "
u sure u won't talk to me?". Nandini didn't reply.. He snuggled into the nape of her neck and that made her held her breath. She was surprised. Manik rubbed his hands against her arms and that was enough for her to get goosebumps.. She uttered "
Manikkk"
Manik shushed her " shhh..
U r not talking to me.."
Manik held her hands while wrapping her from behind.. And he made her play a tune on the keyboard.. While he was busy playing that tune she was busy looking at their hands.. She wondered how her hands fit in his so perfectly.. She mentally smiled seeing that.. Manik rubbed his cheeks against her and she closed her eyes feeling the warmth of his face.
Manik repeated his question "
u sure u won't talk to me?."
Nandini opened her eyes and turned her face to look into his eyes.. And she was lost in his magical eyes.. He leaned closer to her lips. Nandini closed her eyes.. He smirked seeing that and rubbed his nose against her. This made her open her eyes and he laughed loud saying " haww..
Tortoise.. U wanna go fast? Why did u close ur eyes?.
U one track mind"
Nandini's face flushed with that and she couldn't help but smile. Manik laughed..
She uttered " leave me..! I hate u!" while trying to get away from him.. But Manik had wrapped her tightly. Manik huskily "
but I don't hate u.. (pause)..
I toh lovvvee.. "
And Nandini's eyes got widened with that and blush rose to her cheeks.. She smiled stupidly. But Manik was serious..He gulped his saliva and said "
Nandini! I .. I love..."
Nandini "
No Manik! Don't say it.." And this left his mouth open.. Nandini "
not now..pls.. abhi nhi" and manik left her being annoyed
Manik annoyingly " ahhha..! Nandini..! This is the
SECOND TIME u stopped me..! Fine..! Now I m not gonna say it until u say it.."
Nandini freaked " I ? "
Manik " yes! Youuu..! It's decided."
Nandini freaked " Nooo.. I can't..
It's not that easy Manik.."
Manik " Exactly! I tried
TWO times.. And it's not that easy.. So u r gonna say it first .. I can bet on that..." Nandini was speechless.. Before she could say something Fab3 entered.
Manik and Nandini changed their expressions.. Fab3 looked tensed.
Cabir " Harshad.. left home"
Manik and Nandini in unison " What?"
Mukti " ya.. Aaliya didn't tell much. She wasn't in a good mood..."
Dhruv " Don't ask her anything.." Manik nodded..
Scene 2----*----(music room))-----
Manik Nandini Dhruv Aaliya were practicing the song "bairiya". Raghav was observing them.. Aaliya was again and again looking at Nandini.
Raghav " stop guys..stop.." . Everyone stopped..
Raghav made a complaint " Aaliyaaa.. U forgot the lyrics.. ..
Aaliya looked down.
Nandini" Sir..! This one is a tough song.. Not only Aaliya. But we all need more practice.".
Raghav " guys we don't have much time.. Six days r left.. Fine!! Practice more" and he left..
Aaliya smiled at Nandini and she smiled back.. Manik felt good seeing that.. Aaliya thought " that's the reason why Manik loves u.. Why aryamann loves u."...
Scene 3 --- ( music room)--
Fab4 were standing at a corner talking about Aaliya and Harshad.. And Aaliya was sitting on a chair trying to learn the lyrics. Navya was talking to Nandini.
Navya " Aryamann ne HUME subeh call kia aur kaha h k HUM tumhara aur Soha ka dhyan rakhein.. HUM kitne responsible lgte hain use. Waise HUM to sbka dhyan rakhte hain. HUMPE to sbhi trust krte hain" , she said proudly.. Nandini smiled at her boasting..
Suddenly Nandini's eyes fell on aaliya who was lost in her thoughts.. Nandini cleared her throat and that made fab4 look at her.. She gestured fab5 boys to make Aaliya smile.. Mukti noticed that and liked Nandini's behavior.. Fab4 walked to Aaliya..
Cabir " Aaliya.. How does ur favourite writer look like?"
Aaliya with a blank face " I haven't seen him. Told u..."
Manik " oh God.. ! really? What if he is an old man.. With grey hair.. And ..?"
Dhruv " and.. with only few teeth in his mouth.." Everyone giggled.. Aaliya became annoyed..
Mukti " heyy!.. Don't say anything to her KJ.."
And this left Nandini's mouth open. Nandini " KJ..?"
Aaliya curiously " U know him"
Nandini " of course!.. ... Not..! nobody knows him. But he is my favourite writer too.."
And they heard Aryamann's voice " but i don't like him.." . Aaliya saw him and she forgot everything about KJ.. The words of that manuscript started flashing through her mind..
Aryamann " hi guys. Well m not friends with Fab5 but still we are w connected" And he smiled at Nandini. And she smiled back.. Aaliya was observing him and Nandini..
Dhruv " Who told u that.. U r a friend..".. Manik " yes!". Nandini smiled listening that.. Aryamann was surprised. Aryamann smiled at Manik and they shook hands.
Nandini " Guys.. He has come to say goodbye.. He is leaving college and going back to manglore"
Fab4 were surprised.. But Aaliya was shocked.. Manik to aryamann " but.. Why?"
Aryamann" long story.. Anyways. I came to say goodbye.. I will keep visiting.. And Manik! take care of my girlfriend .."
And the word girlfriend left manik speechless. Aryamann laughed and said " Okay ex- girlfriend.. "
Nandini" Maddie.. ! Stop it!".
Aryamann " I was kidding dude..".Manik was embarrassed. And everyone laughed at that except Aaliya. She was wondering how Aryamann can laugh like that seeing his love with someone else..
Aryamann bade bye to everyone.. His eyes met with Aaliya.. He smiled a little but didn't say anything.. Aaliya couldn't smile she was dumbstruck.. She was feeling inert, hollow inside..
Nandini and Aryamann left the room and walked through the corridor..
Aryamann and Nandini hugged each other after they finished walking. She was feeling bad.. And he was feeling worse..
But he composed himself and broke the hug saying " Go and practice..! I m not going for ever...".. And he smiled to the fullest.. Nandini nodded and smiled a little and he took some steps without looking back. And finally he left..
Nandini turned and found Aaliya standing at the door of music room..
Aaliya " I will just come.. U guys pratice." .Aaliya's heart was heavy. But still she managed to smile at Nandini . Nandini smiled back. .. And something strike to Nandini's mind as Aaliya passed by her...
Scene 4---*---(music room)-----
Nandini walked in the music room and found only Manik there..
Manik " Aryamann left?"
Nandini " yaaa. But.. Sb kaha chale gye?"
Manik " I think everyone wants to give us some privacy.." and he smirked.. But Nandini couldn't smile..
Nandini " Manik.. Ahh.. Why did u broke up with Aaliya?" And his smile vanished with that.. He hadn't expected this thing to hear from Nandini's mouth..
Manik recalled Aaliya checking his phone and doubting on him because of Nandini.. He couldn't lie to Nandini but Aaliya was his best friend.. He couldn't tell Nandini that Aaliya had insecurities about her relationship with him because of Nandini.. He was thinking what to tell Nandini .
Finally he uttered " Nandini.. Listen carefully.. Aaliya and I.. We.." He took a pause and said " u know.. That was a weak relationship!"
Nandini " Manik.. Relationship weak ya strong banane se bante hain."
Manik " she was... Insecure"
Nandini argued "so? Even I was insecure and jealous when I saw u dancing with her..."
Manik annoyingly " u r not understanding.! Aaliya was doubting me.! And for me..! If there is no TRUST, there is no relationship"
Nandini was silently looking at him. Manik while looking into her eyes he said " listen Nandini..! . She is a great soul..! She is a great friend..! but Aaliya and me .. We were not meant to be together ". Nandini was silent. Manik sighed and took a step back.. He sat on a bench and took out his cell. And he started exploring it's picture gallery.
Nandini patted her forehead for spoiling his mood.. She sat next to him and saw a glimpse of a picture.. she asked " kiski pics hain? Who is she?"while trying to peep into his phone
But manik immediately slid away from her and while hiding his phone, he said "tchhh! Nandini. Why u peeping into my mobile.?"
Nandini slid more closer to him and cutely said " Jo tera h wo mera"
Manik mentally smiled at that but didn't show it to her. Manik slid more away, saying " No..!"
Nandini slid more towards him and worriedly asked " What No.. I want to see.. Who is she?"
Manik stood up and walked towards the door saying " Nandini! Did u show me ur song diary?"
Nandini followed him saying " that's not a song diary.. that's my personal diary"
Manik thought that she was giving an excuse and he said "oh really..! If that's ur personal diary then these pics are also personal" and he walked to the door.
Nandini freaked " so cabir was right.! These r those exclusive pictures! Han? " and followed him.
Manik heard that and was surprised. He disbelieving asked " u serious?". Nandini who was burning in jealously " yes..!!"
And Manik stopped listening that and turned to face her. And as he turned she bumped into him and lost her balance. But Manik held her hand in time.. And pulled her to himself.. She crashed in his chest. He had held her waist.. She had held his collar.. Their eyes met.. And Manik saw something different in her beautiful eyes.. Those were jealous!.! Innocent ! Different!
Manik whispered " do u know u have beautiful eyes..?". And Nandini blinked her eyes listening that.. She was awestruck.. She was surprised.. She forgot about those exclusive pics as that was the FIRST TIME Manik had praised her for her beauty.
Manik continued in a husky voice " do u know u have chubby cheeks?" . And blood rushed to her cheeks giving them a rosy hint..
Manik while eyeing her lips " do u know..". And her lips trembled.. Manik leaned closed saying " do u know u have..." And her heart skipped a beat..
Manik smirked and said " u have a history of tripping and falling..".. That left Nandini's mouth open and Manik burst into a laughter..
Manik while laughing hard " What? Told u ..! U r one track mind".. And Nandini became annoyed " Manik! U r intentionally doing all this..! Morning me bhi u did the same..! Leave me!.." .. And she tried pushing him away.. Suddenly they heard Cabir singing " khulam khula pyaar krege hum dono.. Iss duniya se nhi darege hum dono".
And Manik and Nandini jerked away.. Manik eyed Cabir..
Cabir " What did I do.. Everyone is coming.. U should be thankful.. I alerted u guys..". Nandini became a red tomato listening the word alerted from his mouth..
Scene 5----( near college gate)--
Aryamann was walking with Soha towards the college gate.
Soha " bhai pls..! Take me with u"
Aryamann " shut up! Me and nandu have pampered u enough.. ! Now Amms will take good care of u.." And he chuckled..
Soha stopped walking and smiled very differently. Aryamann looked at her confusingly.
Soha " I'm proud of u bhai...".
Aryamann knew why she said that. Aryamann sighed and changed the topic " but I'm not proud of u..!"
Soha eyed him annoyingly. Aryamann " u don't have a single bf.. U just love to bully guys.. Huhh"
Soha annoyingly " shut up! Tu chala hi ja bhai ! Huh! . Bye..! Go..!"
Aryamann" Okay.. U go and attend ur class.. Bye.. ". They smiled and hugged each other.. All this was being silently watched by Aaliya.
They broke the hug. Soha looked at him with a weak smile on her face.. Aryamann " now goo.! Or u want me to suggest u some names.. I know some guys...".
Soha irked and said " bye." And pushed him towards the college gate. He chuckled and Soha walked back. Aryamann turned towards the gate.
Suddenly he heard someone shouting his name " Aryamann!!". He turned and found that that was Aaliya.. Aaliya rushed to him and said in a breath " How can u go like this? If u go then who will give me philosophical lectures on life. ?What if I find myself lost..? Who will answer my questions? Who will give me advice?"
It wasn't unexpected for Aryamann after all he and aaliya had some "book- connection". He smiled at her and said " I think. Now u don't need my free free free advice.." And he smiled..
And this made her recall the night when she got drunk and had created a scene about Aryamann and his advice.. She smiled at him and nodded her head saying "yes! U r right.. Now I don't need ur free free... free advice.. But"
Aryamann was looking at her with curiosity and was smiling.
Aaliya "but what if u need any advice?"
Aryamann surprisingly " me?"
Aaliya didn't answer him rather she asked " Can I ask u ONE last question..?"
Aryamann was confused with her behaviour. He uttered " hmm.."
Aaliya gulped her saliva and turned her back towards him.. She asked " What is Love?"
Aryamann was dumbstruck for a moment.. He looked down and said " love has no definition.. Or say everyone has a different definition of love.."
Aaliya " What's YOUR definition of love?"
Aryamann recalled Nandini's face and said " LOVE is when u try to forget ur all pain and smile.. just to make her smile.."
A tear escaped from Aaliya's eye. She wiped it off.. And composed herself and making a smiling face she turned to him.
Aaliya " Does life give u second chance... in love?"
Aryamann gulped his saliva and said " Aryamann doesn't know this answer.." . Aaliya's smile vanished with that.. Aryamann noticed that and he immediately changed his expressions. And with a smile he said " bcz u said one last question.. So now U can't ask another.."
Aaliya smiled, understanding how he changed the topic.. She asked" You remember what I called u, when we danced together that night.."
Aryamann was surprised listening that " all of a sudden.. Ye..."
Aaliya cut him saying " i called u my ANGEL.." She took a pause and while looking into his eyes she uttered " I really..."
Aryamann cut her in between saying " u really don't mean that.. Right.?.. I know u were drunk. And .."
Aaliya " Wrong..!.. I was drunk.. But I really meant that.. u ARE my angel.." She immediately pecked his cheek and that left him shocked..
Aaliya " I will miss you" and she ran back to college leaving him confused and dumbstruck.
