It started with the touch, unaware of each other, their hands found each other when he saved her fireflies unconscious of his action or her. It was her hand stopping his when he first saw her. there is something beautiful, contrasting yet perfect when his giant hands hold her tiny ones. It's as if they were always meant to be together. She trusted him first when she gave her hand in his during the storeroom scene. The first brushes of their touch , to the heightening awareness of each other- it has always been about the touch. He also injured his hand when he shouted at her because of his desperation and anger at her perceiving him as a monster, perhaps it was the first time he ever wanted someone to look beyond his mask, he was desperate for her to see that he is not capable of doing what she was accusing him. It was her mending his broken hand which made him look at her differently, because she looked beyond his anger, her doubts , their equation and tended to him. There was this bit when she shoos his hand when he is trying to remove it from her grip. First time she silently took control of him. Their touch formed the basis of their trust in each other. They know the other will always be there . The break scene was everything, unintentional touch when they both needed someone to share their fears, confusion and exhaustion, their hands connected them to each other. This to their first intimate moment during Diwali . Whenever they have been pushed away emotionally or otherwise their hands always bring that one moment of "them". During the Harshad incident, she inspite of her anger cared and worried for his hands. Their break then was beautiful, the hands gliding over each other, assured them that all will be well , that together they will get over this. Their hands tell each other about their shared love, trust, care and them. They are home when they are holding hands. They say a lot through this touch of hands -care, love, worry, togetherness , every signal emotion is inculcated in that gesture. Yesterday when she held his hand, his finger trembled a bit because they have missed hers. He held her hand, letting her know that he is healing, he is together in her hope. Their hands intertwined together is where their home is. Thats them. No words or even silence. The touch completes them.
