who would compare manik to edward...in my pov thats kind of infantile...
Well EDWARD WAS EDWARD...he was the epitome of everything good...a vampire who was
unconditionally and irrevocably in love with a human...a vampire who would do any thing for that human who was his world LITERALLY...
a protagonists who nullified every single romantic hero in the act of bieng selfless...
whose love was an absolute love...
he was having an masochistic streak of nature in him
and for manik to be compared with darcy (no hard feelings niya...just my pov) i think is also not justified, as darcy was never arrogant nor was he confused...he didnt have a coiled, complicated and crooked personality like manik... he did love elizabeth very much but his love was more a traditional kind of love...after founding which a feeling of contentment comes over and if you dont get it... your life will remain incomplete...a kind where after recieving it you have a sense of peace over you...
he never had that saditic streak of nature in him
WHREAS manik is so much more complex, convuluted, cagey, cunning and also cute
and yes he is selfish...but i like that in him...but he is only selfish in the case of nandini...the love manik has is more like a passionate kind...a love which changes you in a better way...it comes in your life like an intruder...forcing itself on you...like a coersive force...and turns your world upside down...
manik has his own flaws as nandini is having...
what i like the most is that...these characters...i,e; the character NANDINI and MANIK is so different from all the characters...these have their own sense of individuality...n not copied or pasted...
and we simply LOVE THEM - MANAN
also manik has both masochistic as well as sadistic streak in him
guys i love all these 6 characters...but edward is way out of comparable league...meyer has done that...
but in hindi cinema manik is an unbeatable one...
