Part 9-

I reached outside and started looking for him everywhere, where he'd gone? then I found him at parking, he was about to open the door of his car...I ran to him and grabbed his car keys, u are not going anywhere, I ordered folding my arms across my chest.

He looked at me angrily but didn't say anything, he moved ahead to snatch his car keys but I hid it behind my back.

What is your problem Nandini? Just give me the dam keys, he shouted with frustration.

I was scared, his eyes were red but I m not going to give up. I shook my head in response.

He roughly held my hand and without much effort snatched it back, he was stronger than me... he opened his car and about to sit just then stopped and turned to me, he was silently watching me while I was trying to control my tears, stupid stupid tears, I cursed mentally.

His expression softens, what u want Nandini? he asked tiredly.

Your trust, I replied with hope.

He was silent for a while then replied, I trust u.

My heart started jumping with happiness by his words, if u really trusts me then why don't u share your problems with me. I asked.

I can't, he replied lowering his head.

Plz Manik I want to help you, let me be your friend... you have no idea how much I think about you. Give me a chance I promise I will never ever leave u alone, whatever the circumstances are, just give me a chance.

A small smile tugged on his lips, I smiled back, covered the distance between us and hugged him lightly... friends? I asked.

Friends, he replied and hugged me back, I rested my head on the crook of his neck, his warm arms around me giving me goose bumps, it was actually a first normal hug because previous one was in his drunken state, it's a best feeling in the world I want these protecting arms around me for the rest of my life. Stupid Nandini wake up... I broke the hug and he gave me a smile... oh god I can't stop my blushing when he gave me his mesmerizing killer smile.

Where were u going btw? I asked.

Home, he replied as if it's a most obvious answer.

Righttt... but why? Party is still going on.

I know but I can't stand some people there he replied with slight anger in his voice.

I could guess who he was talking about but why he hates Vikram so much, what has he done? I didn't argue on that and got in his car, he gave me questioning look.

Because I got bored. I don't know anybody here, accept Abhi and Mukti and they were busy in their own world, here u r also going so what would I do there. I replied with a small pout.

He chuckled and seated in a driver seat, he shook his head with smile and started driving. We reached to my apartment but same problem, its locked and Mukti have the keys, I forgot to take them. Shitt... I cursed.

Well looks like you have no option but to come with me... he suggested in a teasing voice.

Come with me?? Oh god how can I forget what happened last time when I was at his house. I gave him nervous smile and we reached to his house shortly.

We were alone again, my heart was pounding fast, I found a guitar lying on his couch, I picked it up and played with strings.

Manik came and told me what the right position should be for playing guitar, he touched my hand to keep them on right place on guitar, every time his simple touch makes me shiver.

Wow I didn't know u have guitar I asked happily.

Yup I used to play it when I was in college, u know music was my passion, I gives me happiness... I was in a band where I was the lead singer. Manik kept talking about his past shows and music events.

I can see how much he loves music; he was looking so happy discussing about his passion for music. Then why did u stop singing? I asked curiously.

His face fell and happy expressions suddenly changed into sad one, I was sure he won't answer me but to my surprise he replied...

Because of my family business and other responsibilities, I had to stop and also my parents doesn't like it, according to them music is good as hobby but as a carrier big no. aur phir business handle karne ke liye bhi toh koi hona chahiye na.

I felt bad for him, what kind of parents they are who couldn't understand their son and here Manik left his dreams and passion just to make them happy, then why they still have issues.

My smile grew wider, wow he will sing for me.

He seated at the couch beside me holding his guitar and I was excitedly waiting for him to start.

I closed my eyes to listen his voice, I wish every word was for me... dam he is such a lovely singer, his voice is so smooth and melodious. I think I m falling for him even more. When song ended, I clapped loudly. Wow Manik u were awesome, I leaned to him and kissed his cheeks.

His eyes were wide from my sudden act, he relied thanks in a slow voice. I realized what I have done and my cheeks turned tomato red, but I was not the only one with this condition there, Manik's face was also flushed, OMG Manik Malhotra is blushing, am I dreaming??

We both were silent for a minute, couldn't understand what to say, so for breaking that awkward moment I grabbed guitar from his hand and tried to play it... Manik will you teach me guitar?

Sure, he replied with a sweet smile.

My finger stopped at the string on guitar, first time in these few days he mentioned his brother, maybe he actually trusts me.

He must be very good in this. I said to him.

Yes he was, in fact he has gifted me this guitar when I was 17, I have many guitars but this one is my favorite, it reminds me of my beautiful moments with him.

Where is he now?

He died... he replied in a sad voice.

I held his hand between mine... I m sorry, I didn't know that, I said slowly.

He looked at me and gave me a forced smile, its ok it's not your fault.

It was mine, he died because of me, he said the last part in a whisper, his voice was cracking like it hurts him so much talking about this.

But why he said that he died because of him.
