The Need and the Love...Since I was peacefully asleep through the whole delicious debate...I am gonna put in my two cents now...
There are both Selfish Need and Selfless Love in Manik...
His Need comes from his Monstrous tendencies created by his Damaged Past...
His Need for her to Lighten up his Darkness...
His Need for her to Protect him from Self-Destructing...
His Need for her to show him Hope...
His Need for her to show selfless Care for him...
His Need for her to Love him Unconditionally...
His Need for her to place Absolute...Unbreakable...Trust in him...
His Need for her to place him at the Top most of her priority List...
His Need for her Undivided Attention...
His Need for her to Surrender herself to him Completely...Utterly...
His Need for her Physical Presence...her Touch...her Intimacy...
His Need knows no Consideration for the Other person involved...its Blind , Deaf and Dumb...
It is Urgent , It is Passionate and It is Very Powerful...
It consumes Him whole...It clouds his Senses...It drives his Impulsiveness...Rashness...Ruthlessness...
That is the very reason Manik shows her both...
His Most Cruel Side and His Most Caring Side...
He is most Caring to her because his Need makes her the Most Precious Person in his World...
He is at the time Most Cruel to her because his Need makes him the most vulnerable to Hurt when it comes to her...
But just like a Lotus blooms in the Muddiest of Waters...His Love for her was Born and Blooms admist His Overpowering Need for Her...
How does that happen...?
As he gets to know her...understand her...he SEES ...
Her Loyalty for her Friend...
Her Courage in the face of Fear...
Her Innocence..
Her Kindness even to the ones that hurt her...
Her inherent Goodness...
Her Selflessness...
Her Patience...
Her Never Give Up on Good Attitude...
He starts Admiring her qualities and eventually , unknowingly falls in Love with her...
This Love comes from a Pure place of Heart...Selflessly...as he demonstrates many times...
The way he stays with Rishabh till she comes back...he wouldnt have done that for someone else's brother...
The way he cant see her Crying...in Pain...
The way he tries to reassure her after risking his life to save her...The subconscious hug he almost gave her...
The way he agrees to be Friends...inspite of his Need to Touch her...(though he continuously tried to find loopholes in it...😆)
The way he stops himself from opening the knot and yet doesnt feel even a little bit rejected...
The way he wishes to be wrong so that her belief in Good might be proved right...
The way he catches the Fireflies for her happiness...
and the list is very big...so I am gonna stop here...
Basically he is juggling between his Need for her and his Love for her...
He does push back his Need for her many times for his Love...and sometimes his Need does overpower his Love...like when he asked her to stick with him...even when he might have to move away from her...
This Need and this Love defines his Relationship with her...
Whenever he feels Her going against her Need he lashes at out...which is his Default action that has been ingrained him over his Damaged years...
He tries to shut her out...shut down his Emotions...to not feel the Need anymore...unsuccessfully as he did manytimes and will do again on Monday...
case in point...after her walking away at Hospital...
He might to an extent push back the Need, but he has no control whatsoever on his Love for her...which inspite of his Emotional Shutdown Mode...floods his Heart...case in point...even in his Monster mode he feels her Sorrow , her Hurt and that Hurts him even more...
So eventually Love does win over him ...even though Need does win the First Round...
