@Genie, Anomander, Fairie, AreYaar...sorry for clubbing you guys together...and I am still groggy and no coffee yet.. so my reponse will be nonsense..😆
Agree with a lot of things...the pattern is too predictable..don't know who said that but me too can close my eyes and go...running his hands, playing with hair...coming close...bam!!😆 But then, have seen it so many times...I have lost count...not in this show...but somewhere else and somewhere else and somewhere else. This show is not clichd in any other respect but seems in the physical intimacy dept they are done with pushing the boundaries. But not all is lost...we are irked and are showing our ire in one episode...two incidents..maybe once too often...the first one and Nandu's dialogue they were just rubbing or may be reminding us of the impending doom...that was the girls pov..that it was her last kiss...and is it that impossible that a girl thinks that way when she has packed her bag, got her tickets and plans to leave?? May be yes, may be no..we know she is not leaving...but that doesn't mean the story cannot be told...😆..the store room one...there were some obvious editing issues there...I can bet my hazy unproductive brain, there were some dialogues..Maniks's... that were edited, and the reason why she was laughing ...even Nandini's convo with Mukti had me go..huh???...our lucks the editing butchered the essence but something tells me it was shot different..(and Dishank interrupting..pretty normal teacher catching student red handed and confronting routine...have seen too many in real life..at least in India) ...two missed kisses in one day are bound to make us furious but have to keep in mind the over all product too...Thursday just the the day before when they spent the night together...the two almost kisses were different, felt good...brought a smile too. Even the one near the car on Friday...was not cringeworthy..when Dishank saw them...it had a different flavor.
Guys..sorry girlzz...am not disagreeing with you...the missed kisses are mood spoilers and we can so do without them, but just trying to remind ourselves of some facts. In India...on TV...well...the elbow room is miniscule. They have done plenty of revolting and I can bet we will see plenty more...but finding variety in back to back romantic scenes in one hour episodes, every day is a huge challenge...there is only so much they can do. Lets just not write them off..if we look at all the MaNan scenes in the whole week..we will realize we are noticing just the eye sores...there were some great scenes otherwise...the waking up together scene...seeing off...be it the back to back conversation when both were fighting their inner demons yet trying to reassure the other...or the head touch scene at the college...or the car convos ...actually not many this week.
Its just that we have to see they are trying their best, yet we end up focusing on what is not right and don't bother with so many aspects of the show that are getting superlative. Not that you girls are not right...they need to find more ways to express intimacy...they need creativity there...desperately..(was planning to open a post about some suggestions on romantic scenes to cvs) but after so many months in a love story its at a premium I guess..especially when you are making a movie in two days (two hours two days...speechless). I am ready to cut them some slack...they have given me some gorgeous scenes..totally unforgettable ones...hitting the bulls eyes everytime is just not feasible. The overall picture is good, its more hits and a few misses..and that's not bad at all.
(don't know who mentioned it but the first kiss indeed spoiled it all..damn..if they had not whetted our appetites with something different the very first time we would not have been so frustrated now..its like showing a piece of heaven, tempting us with a promise and going back on your words..😆 but as I see it...it was a special treat which we took for a carry out)

@blue: Yes, the missed kisses should convey a growing sense of intimacy rather than appear ROUTINE...getting routine is when things start going downhill.

@Red - Soon conflicts be boring and we will be have to try normal ,to balance it out. Perhaps this is our "normal". 😆

Friday had a jarring note not only because they were repetitive, technically not executed well but they failed to transition seamlessly. Like I said , A+ for writing but something you do need to make it work on the screen. I enjoyed his calming down scene way more.

@Eveline: LOL everyone's just getting very sensitive here...trust me, no one is "writing them off" on the basis of the missed kisses...just that the frustration is valid...so it's not fair to put ppl down for criticizing the obviously repetitive nature of the missed kisses.

If that first kiss was supposed to be a one off deal, then why do they keep flashing it in our faces via FBs? LOL it's like jale pe namak chhidakna...that is why ppl feel like Manan fans are being taken for a ride...ki just for publicity they milked that kiss and now they are suddenly acting prudish about it.

Thing is, they HAVE demonstrated via their writing that everything b/w Manan has had a purpose, a build up...all the throwbacks to trust, communication, the fireflies, the stars...the fact that these are reiterated over and over again leaves one to inevitably wonder if they will follow up on the loop regarding the kiss as well.

People aren't harping about that kiss simply cuz it was a rare proper kiss on Indian TV...it's the fact that the kiss had so much MEANING filled in it...it was such a meaningful moment for Manan and close on the heels of that everything got ripped apart thanks to the Manik sacrifice track...so if this loop of lingering trust and communication issues is really to be closed, it needs a kiss like that to show the depth, the MEANING of it again.

We all speculated so much regarding when that peak of trust will be reached b/w MaNan again...instead somewhere in all the need to fill in drama into the show now, MaNan and the depiction of intimacy b/w them is becoming routine rather than being a part of the BUILD UP of the story...that first kiss was a defining moment not for the intimacy but for what it implied...they need to follow that gameplan with regards to any kind of intimate moments b/w MaNan in general...that is what sets them apart...not the number of kisses/almost kisses they have...but the fact that any intimate moment b/w them has MEANING in it and isn't thrown in for the heck of it.

THIS...Transition was DEFFO a problem and the lack of consistency vis a vis Nandu's reactions...random mopey selfies one moment, smiling as Manik tries to kiss her the next...

Which calming down scene are you talking about? The first time they played Jeena Jeena? *sigh*...that was just so pitch perfect...writing, acting, directing, feels, song...everything so beautifully in sync... I think that was the last epi which really made me want to gush properly...since then it's been very hit or miss.

@Eveline - We all understand that this show has been special in regards how they treat and execute their story. I am sure we all are well-versed with how desi tv works, so I take it we all understand the elbow space you mentioned. But here the problem is ,even if the writing has been good, the scene has had meaning , yet the impact has become repetitive because of these kiss misses, doesn't help the cheat kiss was very shabby which meant the impact or the idea behind it was diluted considerable.

This forum is used to express our admiration for the show , yet we do need to give them constructive feedback and our opinions which may or may not be agreeable to everyone. This is how communication works. Just because we differ and feel that these scenes might take away the build-up from the next high intensity moment doesn't mean we do not appreciate or understand the efforts of cast and crew.

Near misses are not a new thing for this couple they used them amply earlier which they concluded with the first real kiss. Never for once any of those scenes felt repetitive or jarring because near kisses were used intelligently and were spaced out. Here it's jamming one after the other and in paces where they could still make an impact without shoving it again and again , hence defeating the element of surprise.

@AY - That scene when he is about to blast at Dhruv but he just glances at her and then smiles, winks and calms down. It atleast showed that he remembered how she doesn't like his gussa and tried her technique to calm down.
Transitions were bad, the Pandit came and the next moment we were back to stage thing. I guess Soha's exit should sort it . She be the bad omen in lot of ways.

OMG you know I didn't even realize he WINKED at her until you just told me...had to go back and watch the scene😆...see that is what I'm saying these moments are so fleeting stuffed in b/w all the other running around happening in each epi that sometimes they don't register or make as much of an impact😕

And yes, Soha ka saaya jabse padaa hai, show ki band baji hui hai...I'll breathe a sigh of relief the day she exits and hopefully they bring Harshad back instead of dragging out Pandit ka cameo like Soha too😕

@AY - Watch it probably the best scene of the lot , also I liked how he anticipated her palat and had the smug yet pleased look on his face, just after she leaves for the class. These scenes were far more "them" .
I don't know about Harshad coming soon , for that you need stable united fab5 and happy MaNan, also resolve Navya's pregnancy in some way. Thing is till musicana we had N4s vs fab5 which kept them all constrained now these characters don't have a common intercepting point story wise. This album could have been one , had it not been for Soha's creepiness . I say bring another music contest after Pandit and then Harshad's return .

Oh I did notice the palat bit but dunno I somehow missed this wink of his😆...and now after watching it, I got such deja vu of that pre-musicana scene when he was just giving her these smug looks as she gestured for him to come over for his performance😆...similar look he gave her in this scene when he bobbed his eyebrows at her after the wink...this kind of playful banter is always welcome...but I guess somewhere we all miss the intensity b/w them as well...and in the juggling that Manik does b/w Fab 5 and Nandu, sometimes the impact doesn't fully come through.

Re: Pandit...the only reason I'm wary is that they will pull a Soha regarding him and just stretch out his psycho track as well for months on end...that will be too much then...if they keep it to the point vis a vis him getting Nandu to be more responsible about her goals in life and we get jealous Manik as a bonus, fine...but yet another psycho close on the heels of Soha is just too much.

Atleast with Harshad, there is history to explore.
