They shouldn't be opposites...but for some reason they seem to be. When love enters through the door, logic goes out for a toss, through the window. Love always makes us illogical. What is the connection here..you tell me...
The last episode...it was pure logic. It made total sense, every scene, every development..perfect progression. Not a single frame unnecessary, not a dialogue or scene wasted...yet most were unhappy!! Be it the early morning sweet n sexy scene between MaNan. He was in a good mood and why not..his girl was safe, right in front of his eyes, he spent a whole night with her and it was a big day...a very big day for him. Life it seemed was finally going right. The way he teased her, trying to get close to her...chasing her to the bathroom when she was going for a shower...vintage Manik.
(A small diversion...the major controversial subject...the kiss miss sequence and their annoying repetition..its an indian show. They have their limitations, in a way operating with their hands tied. How in the world can they show physical intimacy in a couple, they can't show them kissing at every drop of a hat. If so we would have had at least 30 kisses by now. Even if they showed half of them, they would still be way too much. Kissing is neither so frequent, neither as acceptable in an Indian show as in foreign shows we all know that...then how in the world are the cvs supposed to show the physical equation in a dating couple?? The guys desire to get more, the girl's responses...well as I see it..the kiss miss is the best way of exhibiting sexual desire without getting explicit. The caressing, the hugging, the nuzzling...it happens a lot too. Any other way?? Any creative suggestions?? Comparisons are not allowed but the last show I watched..had the same issue...looking back all romantic shows on Indian telly has had the same issue...pushing the envelope...or the boundaries...they can only go so far before their wrists are slapped...I think this show already holds the record for the maximum no. of kisses ever on Indian TV..and we are still complaining? We have to understand the parameters in which they operate. Hugging is considered run of the mill, caressing..been there, done that! Yes...i agree its getting too repetitive too predictable...just pointing out something that is a huge factor...creativity is going to be a challenge here...My views...no offence meant or hope none taken.)
His clear statement, he cares a damn about what the world thinks..she does. His escape..their togetherness, the snatched moments of happiness before everything that can go wrong, will go wrong. The advent of the Pandit. Another side note...wonderful characterization. Till now he is perfect, his strictness, his discipline, his disappointment with Nandini's lack of focus, his lectures...all are totally in sync with his character. A professor who catches his student in a little bit of a compromising position with a guy, outside the college and at the time of his workshop is bound to let loose a lecture...its teacher mentality. 😆 If not, he would not be real!! 😉 Whatever the future holds for this character, for now he is perfect. Disank is fantastic, great personality, not too young and neither too old, a figure of authority. HIs and Manik's first encounter..their body languages were superb, subtle aggression from one side, strong dislike on the other. And such a short and sweet way of letting him know the equation between MaNan !! One scene, another purpose solved. Also showed Manik's growing impatience and displeasure with his influence...the beginning of the future track!
Nandini's desperate attempts at capturing every moment with him, so heart breaking, reminding us of her imminent departure. Her goodbye and turning back, his smile all so poignant and sweet!! The Fab 5 set up...perfect again!! All under stress, all nearing breaking point, and a couple nearing boiling point. What buildup!! Cabir has a girl to contend with under his roof. Whatever some might think, wonderful way of getting Cavya together...both are in desperate need of each other. Both broken and need healing, both need support and finally together they will survive. Big development for Cabir and he is in doldrums. Next Aliya and Dhruv...no surprises there. Kudos to the cvs...always their track progression is slow and logical. Dhruv has been simmering for a while now...his Nandini failure and rejection...his and Aliya's equation...his happiness, then Aliya's behavior and constant insensitive reminders and his insecurities pushing them apart, creating differences and misunderstandings...till it gets unbearable for him. Beautifully done !! And now all his problems have found a target, he has someone to blame for all his miseries...not Nandini, not Alya...it is Manik!! How apt!! Dhruv is no longer happy being in his shadow. His ego, his pride, his sensitivity...they all smart and chaff at Manik's presence. The very guy who was life itself now seems life threatening. His antagonism was timely and Manik's bending backwards to accommodate him...the usual!! Loved the way the show finally found its way to where it was headed!!
Mukti has been on tenterhooks since long, holding it in all along. Now, the cracks are visible. One and all are noticing that something is amiss, finally!!
They are all fighting too many battles on too many fronts and now the eruption is close. What a gorgeous bringing together of all forces, heading towards a natural climax!!
The Nandini Khurana convo, again perfect, keeping in mind that Manik had his reasons to hide things from Nandini and sooner or later whenever they faced each other, Nandu was going to clarify her stance and let him know of her departure from his life. Logical...and so was Khurana's chance pe dance...it fell right in his lap and obviously the cad that he is, he was bound to take advantage.
Khurana Manik face off..it could be nothing else. Manik was in total control, calling the shots. He might be young, but our guy knows what is power and how to use it!! His condition, she has to be in front of his eyes when he performs...it is his insurance policy, cause for that many hours Nandu, his Nandu was totally open to danger, with him not around...and it would have been totally not Manik to leave her at such a crucial stage.
Each character, each action what should have been.
Manik and Nandu scene...pure love. And pure logic..college is no place for privacy and romance...interruptions are bound to happen...and they do happen. And Pandit's intrusion as a judge...great development. More reason for hate, more grounds for future friction. Once again smart thinking, making a knowledgable and famous man like him a judge...logical.
Soha had to be there...she is the catalyst, the wick of this time bomb. The spark that sets off the fire...however she manages it. Yes, she has been around music and recording equipment all her life...that was stressed even in the beginning so no surprises there. No one recognizing her...that was pushing the limits, but well with her hoodie n all...we can manage to close our eyes.
(About the Soha track being dragged...she entered in the later days of December...and its the first week of Feb...she was not there in all the episodes...in this limited no of weeks..she entered, brought MaNan together...progressed from being interested to being possessive to being dangerous to being chillingly unbalanced...what fast paced character utilization...and now she is finally headed out but that too after achieving at least the beginning or fruitation of some more tracks...and we feel this is dragged???)
My point...each development superb, everything rushing and gushing towards the edge of the precipice. No dragging of feet, no slacking in an hour's episode. Why Friday, every single day of the week has been exceptional...they have neither compromised on quality nor quantity...
And now the coming week is going to explosive, mind blowing in each and every sense...it has the feeling of the Musicana days...total edge of the seat entertainment...fabulous planning and plotting here...
and instead of patting their backs for their superb work...most of us are furious?? The reasons...MaNan...missed kisses...problems in their love story... Soha...Dhruv...the valentine day sky high expectations..the list is endless!!!!?????
MaNan...she is 17..he is 19..what do we expect?? How can this story progress at this stage..they cannot be lovers...nope not now...there cannot be confessions...nope not now...and logically we do understand that if this show has to last...all these things have to come at their own sweet time. Valentine's day...really??? When they are together, each day is a celebration of love. Instead of enjoying the obstacles in a love saga and the way they overcome it...we are busy cribbing about MaNan progression. Yes, we love MaNan. And that seems to be the show's biggest asset as well as the biggest liability. We just cannot see beyond them, at the fantastic direction, the superlative screenplay, the tight script, the superbly etched out characters...each playing their part to a T..We just need to look around the market and see what others have to offer before rejecting...we might realize what a fantastic bargain we have..we got lucky. All we want is MaNan and all we want from them is to kiss..to make love...to have a nice easy romantic awesome dreamy love story...but dearies romance too needs a reason...some pretext and some excuse of a story ...and then what??? What next??? What ahead??? The story is done...we had our cake and ate it too...
Logic and love...it seems they just can't go hand in hand?? Or can they girls??
(I know I am going to be unpopular cause I am going against the tide...please just try and be respectful and have mercy on my soul...just sharing my opinion and not deliberately trying to hurt anyone's sentiments...I apologize in advance for the same...thanks!!)
