Talking about society ..we are still stuck in the stage where ultimately the female gets blamed for this.It is almost impossible to expect that she will be ever accepted with open hands by family and relatives , forget about rest of the world.
However, there are still people in this world who don't judge people just by a mistake they made. There are people who still love you for who you actually are and are ready to hold your hand not just for a while , but for a lifetime. And believe me when I say that the world has not yet rotten completely, have seen in real life where guys have come up and healed the hurt souls with their love and support.

And did I say "I love you eveline" 🤗

The only ray of hope in this situation...her only support system is her friend...and thank god for that!! Thank God that Nandini is one of those rare species who truly understands the meaning of the word friendship, the little angel did touch her life with some comfort.
Society and women...the more things change, the more they remain the same. We take one step forward, feel so proud of ourselves and pat our backs and then the society pushes us four steps back!! Its a never ending battle, a war that cannot be won and yet we cannot lay down our weapons either...
Thank you so much for the note of hope that you have introduced in your response. I am sure there must be some good people too, who have the generosity and open mindedness to embrace a girl so shattered. I desperately hope so cause we need such men and they are indeed rare to find...
And yes you did mention that...😆..but you know what... I am like Manik in this case...I will never tire of hearing this again and again.😳..so please say it every time we bump into each other...I love you too...🤗

the child is never going to have a healthy and normal life if he/she grow up in india.

Maybe and maybe not...the answer here will never be the same, each individual bringing a new angle to this problem. Agree that the mother and child will be branded for life. There life will be a living hell as society is very unforgiving for these so called moral sins...but...
In all honesty, I only have questions that I shared, wish I had answers too...

Eveline,
Beautiful and heart felt post.

It really sad that Navya is being blames, if at all she is. All of seventeen and has to face the harshness of the world.

Can we really blame her for trusting her love, the guy? She is paying the price for the trust she gave to her love. But the world will not blame or condemn the guy who ruthlessly used her and ruined her.

This is such a multi layered issue..

One, no proper sexual education and awareness for the teenagers. No healthy way of understanding the consequences of the act itself. STDs, pregnancies...

Second, unhealthy and unnecessary importance to the "Virginity" of the girl. Why the double standards? What about Navya? Does she not deserve happiness? Why would she has to pay the price for one innocent mistake? What about rape survivors? Why do we need to condemn them? I hate that term "Izzzat loot gayi"...I mean come on. What do you mean by izzzat and why does it have to be associated to the girl's intimate parts? I would say the guy, the criminal who has shamed everyone. If anyone has lost izzat, its him.

Third, why the abortion is bad in general? It should be an option available legally and morally to the girl. Having a kid or not, should be the choice of only the girl's or if the guy is sharing the burden, then of both of them. Society has no say in it. And Law should not have any say in it.

It is difficult to stop crimes. Yes, what was done to Navya was a crime. It should be treated as such. But what is more important is to create a society, which has empathy, which creates survivors out of victims, where the victims can breath and be able to lead a normal life, and not degrade the victim. Are we there yet? No. I don't think so.

Love
MD

thanks...may be...there can be no life without hope. And a human can never stop hoping till the day he/she dies, so hope she will for a better future. Whether her hope will be ever fulfilled or not , whether her wait for an understanding life partner ever end, is a different story.

thanks...And undoubtedly the Navya Nandini conversation today defines friendship in a very beautiful way. One of the best conversation between friends on this show, I believe. One of the times when the scenes actually reflect the title...after all its all about friendship..right?
