The Journey of Manik Malhotra and Nandini Moorthy:
Manik is a very complex person...he had faced so much of hurt in his life...that he guarded his heart vigorously...
He built walls of Arrogance , Indifference and Hate around it...No one could touch his heart...except for the
Friendship that had already a place in his heart.Except for his Friends he cared about no one...they were
the world to him...all the others either he hated or was indifferent...Then something happened ...
Someone broke through all the walls that he built around the wall...All the barriers inside his heart and head
went...BOOOM !!!!!...A delicate , sensitive , Doll like tiny girl...PUNCHED HIM !!!!
She didnt just Punch him...She PUNCHED HIM with absolute ANGER , HATRED and PASSION...!!!
The very things that he used to build up his barriers around his heart and mind...
Like only a Diamond can cut a Diamond...Her punch of HATRED made a mark on his PRECIOUS HEART !!!
The MARK spread to the very depths of his heart...IT CREATED A SPOT IN HIS HEART...!!!!
MANIK HATED HER FROM THE DEPTHS OF HIS HEART...unconsciously...he created a place for her in the very place...
he swore to let no one in...The HATRED became an OBSESSION...DAY and NIGHT all that he could think about was
how to make her pay...how to make her hurt...HIS OBSESSION demanded her ABSOLUTE ATTENTION...
and when her ATTENTION STRAYED...he felt a new EMOTION...JEALOUSY, POSSESSIVENESS...HERE SHE WAS ALL THAT HE COULD THINK OFF
and SHE was giving her ATTENTION to someone ELSE...HE could not bear it...
SHE WAS HIS , ONLY HIS TO TORTURE, TO INFLICT PAIN...NO ONE , NOTHING SHOULD HAVE ANY PLACE IN HER LIFE OR HEART OTHER THAN HIM...ONLY HIM !!!
When he culdnt control his POSSESSIVENESS to her...he lashed out...HATED her even more...!!!
IT was a vicious CYCLE...HATRED led to JEALOUSY and JEALOUSY increased HATRED...He was STUCK...no where to ESCAPE...
Manik Through all his ANGER , HATRED , IGNORANCE and INDIFFERENCE still managed to maintain his HUMANITY only through
his Friendship...it was the only thing keeping him Sane...and when the Very Friendship was Threatened...during the GOONS incident
he became helpless , despaired...Broken...In his Desperation to REPAIR the BOND of his FRIENDSHIP...he even...
distanced himself from his OBSESSION...Had her Expelled...but FATE had other PLANS...
The Very Girl he Hated and Holded Responsible for breaking his Friendship...SAVED IT...SAVED HIM...
IT WAS AT THE CAFE...when he felt her KINDNESS..the GOODNESS of her HEART...That was the TURNING POINT in his JOURNEY
FROM HATRED TO LOVE...The Feeling of HATRED in his HEART was now tainted by GRATEFULNESS even ADMIRATION and WONDER..!!!
Now that Manik no longer felt overwhelming hate for Nandini...he would have returned to his life of Guarded Indifference...
But gain FATE intervened...HARSHAD trapped him and Nandini...in Store Room...where he felt another new Emotion for the first time in his life...
ATTRACTION...He wasn't just attracted to her PHYSICALLY...He was attracted to her INNOCENCE, KINDNESS , BRAVERY...the STRENGTH of her HEART...
When she lit the FIRE she brought LIGHT not only to the Room but also in his LIFE...
Without even knowing she replaced the haunting darkness of Loneliness and Pain in his heart with the WARMTH of her COMPASSIONATE HEART...
Overwhelming HATRED was now completely replaced with Overwhelming ATTRACTION...
When he holded her in his Arms he felt the long forgotten Warmth coming back to his Heart..
His heart recognized the fact that as long as SHE was with HIM...he will never FEAR DARKNESS , PAIN , LONELINESS...
She became his STAR...the one that would shine to show the way in all the NIghts of his LIfe...
SHE represented all that he desperately wanted in HIS LIFE...COMPASSION , HONESTY, CARE , COMPANIONSHIP...
The next day when he had to choose between MUSIC and HER...HE CHOSE HER...MUSIC was the passion of his life...
BUT NANDINI was his HOPE...He chose HOPE over PASSION...In saving HER he was saving the ONLY HOPE in his LIFE...
Clouded by his past experiences...though he was not able to recognise the reasons for his Actions...
Why did he RISK his life for HER..? Why was he ATTRACTED to HER...? Why couldnt he see her in PAIN...?
What was happening to him...?
He couldn't even imagine in his Dreams that somone would become more important to HIM than MUSIC than his OWN LIFE...
Faced again with the same dilemma...he made the same Choice...at the Qualifying round for Musicana...
Not only did he Chose her...but for the first time...he went against his Friends Needs for HER...
If that was not enough, To Protect her...He forced her to not reveal his Sacrifice..knowing that his Friends
will never forgive her for being the reason they lost...and would hurt her...and that for him..was the biggest Sacrifice...
He was ready to Risk not only his life his music his friends faith in him...in order to Protect her...
She had Truly and Absolutely become the Center of his Universe...
Unknown to him...his actions had caused turmoil in the life of his STAR as well.
Nandini had witnessed his Fury...she withstood his Hatred...She persevered through his Pain...
While Manik fought Pain with Pain...she fought Pain with Patience...Hatred with Compassion...
If he was the Hurricane that would destroy everything in his path...she was the Himalayan Mountain...
UnYielding inner strength personified...She took all his blows...and still managed to stand on her feet...
If HIS ANGER was RAGING FIRE then her COMPASSION was ICE COLD...She was the Yin to his Yang...
She was Unique one of a kind ...she had a Heart of Gold...SHe and Only She was able to Ignore his Hatred and Anger
but Recognise...his Humanity...his absolute Selflessness...his Caring Nature...his Courage...
She judged him not on his flaws but on his Virtues...
In the STORE ROOM when she felt his Vulnerability...which he hid from everyone...her Heart Melted...
She smiled for the very first time...FOR HIM...
She felt the Good in his Heart in the way he cared for her...and in the Unguarded moment when she was in his Arms..
When he looked at her...in a way that he never looked before...his mask of bitterness forgotten...his face brimming with emotions..
She too felt the same pull that he was feeling...the pull of ATTRACTION...
She was attracted to his single minded devotion to his Friends...to the vulnerable soft side that he hid from everyone...
She had now seen and felt the real Manik that he hid from everyone ...She was attracted to that Manik...
When he risked his Life , his Music to save Her...and her Brother...the bond between them Solidified...
Now there was no going back...HE CANT LET GO OF HER AND SHE CANT LET HIM LET GO OF HER...
In the Shower when HE was swept by HIS ATTRACTION towards her and at COLLEGE when SHE REALIZED HER ATTRACTION towards
him...both of them...had consciously accepted to themselves their ATTRACTION towards each other...
ALL THAT WAS NEEDED NOW WAS A TRIGGER...that would make them express what they were feeling to each other...
FATE INTERVENED AGAIN...
When Manik felt Shocked , LOST , Agitated in the face of Cabir's revelation...he cudnt go to his Friends for help...
So he turned to the only other person that he let in to his Heart his Anchor his Star...Nandini Murthy...
When he saw her in front of him ...he instinctively Hugged her...he needed the warmth of her Heart..the warmth of her Body...
like the way he needed the light of fire in the Store Room...His unguarded honest all consuming hug triggered the raging emotions
in both their Hearts...They had come into the hug as Manik and Nandini...when the came out they were Manan...their hearts had connected...
HER ACCEPTANCE of HIS FEELINGS filled his HEART with CALM AND PEACE...HIS INTENSE FEELINGS filled her HEART with JOY...
HE WAS JUST MANIK now NANDINI's MANIK...and she was MANIK's NANDINI his NANDU...his STAR...
They had now traveled from HATRED to UNDERSTANDING to ATTRACTION to ACCEPTANCE...now their journey traveled to the very pinnacle...LOVE
MANIK had always been in a GIVE and TAKE relationships...consciously...unconsciously...save for his Friends...
He had never seen Selfless LOVE...never felt it...never experienced its beauty...
The moments where a drugged , unguarded Nandini promised to always be with him and shine for him , be his personal STAR..
When she included him in her Prayers...praying for his Happiness and Wellbeing...LOVE WAS BORN IN MANIK's HEART !!!!
It was no longer just Understanding , Admiration , Care and Attraction...its was ONE HUNDRED PERCENT PURE FIERCE SOUL FLOODING LOVE...!!!
LOVE that is IMMORTAL , INVINCIBLE , UNSTOPPABLE...the kind of LOVE that very few of us experience in our lifetime...
the kind of LOVE that cannot be DESCRIBED OR UNDERSTOOD ...It can only be EXPERIENCED...!!!
The Lonely Monster had at last found the LOVE of his LIFE...!!!
NANDINI had always imagined LOVE to be a fairy-tale...where her Prince Charming would come searching for her...confess his LOVE for her..
TAKE HER HAND...TRUST HER and BE WITH HER FOREVER...AND EVER...
When MANIK confessed to her...that SHE INSPIRES HIM TO BE GOOD,SHE MAKES HIM WANT TO BE BETTER...THAT HE WOULD NEVER BE SCARED OF DARKNESS AS LONG
AS SHE WAS WITH HER...THAT SHE WAS HIS STAR...her Fairy-tale had become Reality...and her Prince Charming had come for her...
HIS HONESTY , HIS LOVE , HIS VULNERABILITY...FLOODED her HEART with INNOCENT LOVE...JOYOUS...WARM...BRIGHT...UNBRIDLED HAPPINESS...
THEIR EMOTIONS OVERFLOWED...THEIR FEELINGS TOOK CONTROL OF THEM...AND THEY KISSED...A KISS...THAT BOUND THEIR LIVES TOGETHER MORE TIGHTLY...THAN ANY BOND
IN THE WORLD...
