The last time, she walked away because he was forcing her to accept the apology.

But this time, it was she who was running away, not because she couldn't forgive him but because she thought he would be better of without her...the premises have changed. She was running away from her feelings, from accepting the truth about their relationship and he had to take a drastic measure to get her to confess. That doesn't make them all right but maybe acknowledging their feelings, the fact that something inexplicable yet unbreakable EXISTs between them would be the first step in the right direction.
