S u b t i t l e s

So I'm currently on this mission to start making subtitles for the episodes (they're soft-subs, not hard subs meaning it's a separate subtitle file which you watch over the video). I've done the first episode and okay it's not perfect because I don't speak Hindi (so some parts may have been a bit off) nor have I subtitled the English speaking parts (because there's no point of that :P).

For those that want to see it; All you have to do is download the episode(s) from either Youtube or MTV (mtv.in.com/yaariaan/videos.html) and also download VLC player. Make sure you download the episode and subtitle and make both of the files the same name for example "Kaisi Yeh Yaariyan Episode 1".

Open up VLC player and the subtitles should start playing straight away!

Hehee thank you! I think it's faster for me to skip those English sentences :P

And yeah that'll be a great help - like there's some phrases in Hindi that I couldn't think of hwo to translate it to English without it sounding stupid (which it ended up lol) - I'll message you on those tricky sentences! :D

PS, I just realised that you may not be able to download the subtitle due to Google access or something - I've changed the settings - can someone please tell me if they're able to download it?

No problem! Any time! I have almost all the episodes downloaded..just a 1-2 missing so I can easily translate..lemme go check the subs! 😃

why they be .ass file? Shouldn't it be .srt? 😕

Use Aegisub to sub them!

http://www.aegisub.org/

(It's free to download :P) and it's easy to quickly learn how to subtitle

And yeah, subs files can be .srt or .ass - Aegisub saves it as .ass but honestly it's just the same thing - a bit like JPEG or JPG :P

I've downloaded since like episode 60 but starting to download them from the start.

I'm subtitling episode 2 and 3 for now, and if you have time and you want to, then let me know if you're able to subtitle so we can see which episodes to do :)

(thank you so much! :D We need to make KY2 known to other people who don't understand hindi lol) :P

I have all the episodes downloaded (I'm crazy) but I really don't know how to subtitle...

btw, checked the first episode sub! It was good! Just yeah..some minor problem with the translation but nothing too annoying! :D
