But lets look at the situation here,

Manik was put to a place where he has no idea about Nandu's views on homosexuality . He saw how someone is out at Cabir for his secret with a desperation that his drink was even spiked. Do you see the seriousness of the situation? It's society vs Manik's friend. World against one . The odds forces Manik to be protective for Cabir , as he is unaware of Nandu's views on homosexuality, it freaked him that Cabir's secret is getting out . He doesn't want that to happen . Frankly he is right too. It's only Cabir's own decision and will which should be counted here. His reaction is instinctive , impulsive and very in-tune to his character. Any threat to his people , he would take charge because that has been his natural tendency. So much so he is willing to put his friend above a girl who he has feelings for because he knows his friend is not doing anything wrong, note how he is unaware of Nandu's take . They haven't reached the stage where homosexuality can be discussed so freely between them.

We saw it happen with Dhruv too, when he pushed Nandu around till he was sure she meant no harm to him. Here, his aggression came from a right place, that is what every stand up friend does. Yes, I am sure the moment Nandu clears her views on it , he will mellow down and ponder . But right now , he is the only shield which is keeping the danger away from Cabir.

Nandini while is an awesome girl and Manik trusts her in many ways, there is still to early for them to say they share a relationship. They are trying to know each other and are finding new things. But they haven't worded their equation, hence this push and pull will continue .

Nandu punched him when he crossed a line without any reason. Here he is shouting and is angry but there is sense to it. I don't know a human being who never looses their shit in anger, we do it usually infront of people we love or our friends. The important thing is after-realization. like Manik recognized and complimented Nandu's strength and was cool enough to joke that it was him who needed help.

I don't think the precap angle should be viewed as a woman thing, Manik would have done it to anyone irrespective of the gender. It was for a friend and completely justified given the circumstances.

I won't rise to the bait of other serials because they are grown ass men who act jerks, not teens like here with a sense of reality , struggles and "growing-up" issues.

Now, your views on manhandling- I see where they're coming from, but the irony is that you have a pic of the serial 'Madhubala' as your d.p. I'm not judging you, I'm sure you must have enjoyed the show and liked it enough to put a pic of it as your dp. This was a show, if I remember right, which kinda glorified domestic violence.

I don't know how long you've been watching KYY, but if you have followed the serial from the start- with zero pre-conceived notions, you'll be able to understand every character better.

If you're still confused, try and read the reviews made by some of us.

About Maanik- once again, I won't try shoving my own opinion down your throat. There was a time even I used to hate him- to the extent that I couldn't believe that he'd be made the hero! But with time, as I've tried to understand both Maanik and Nandini, I've realized what he does and why.

Now lastly, I'll just skip to the precap part. 1. Maanik is the shield of Fab 5, 2.He has no idea as to what Nandini thinks of homosexuals 3.Maanik has never been a good listener and 4. he was more panicked than angry! All of these things made him react the way he did in the precap- it was a 'spur of the moment' thing. (For eg- Dhruv punching Maanik).

Nandini has never failed to stand up against Maanik and his atrocities. Even he had stopped bullying her, she'd never failed to give him reminders of his activities- being sober or being drunk.

Therefore, the whole argument of 'modern girls not taking this kind of shit' is INVALID.
