But where Nandini can punch Manik & we can all be overjoyed, then why should the 'no violence' rule be applied to Manik only?

But yeah, I do agree that Indian TV needs to stop all these men from just holding the girl like that. If you are angry, you can speak to each other, you can vent it out. There is no need to hurt the girl like that. I am sick of it too honestly.

Hell, yeah! I was out of my mind cheering for Nandini when she finally stood up to him and punched him. So, only girls get to do that and be awesome?
I sure as hell will cheer for Manik too, because guess what, he wasn't being possessive over her or trying to reclaim his masculinity or superiority over her by being violent and shouting in her face.If Nandu was standing up for herself, then Manik is standing up as a shield for his friend --who is vulnerable and in danger at the moment -- which Manik has always done and will keep doing because if he doesn't then he won't be Manik anymore.

You are right manhandling is never okay. And I also understand your point of how what teens see on TV becomes their reality, at least in certain parts of their head. Simply put, if we can idolize the romance we see on TV, people can idealize the violence as well.. What we see, read and hear affects how we behave.
Even I didn't like how Manik treated Nandu. Whatever the trigger for his anger it was wrong. He could have talked it out. The argument that she doesn't hold a special place in his heart yet is invalid too because manhandling is just wrong whether it be towards a loved one or a stranger.

I also understand Manik reacted that way because he panicked, to be honest I might react like that too if I was in that place. And that would be wrong, but what is important is that I change. And whats important is that Manik changes. See at the end of the day KYY has been very realistic and in real life stuff like that happens more often than we would like to admit. But I am sure they will show Manik accepting that what he did was wrong and he shouldn't do it.

And as far as Nandu is concerned I am sure she won't take it hands down... she will have a reply ready for him. That's how she is, she is compassionate but equally courageous. Let's look at this situation from a different perspective for a while. We have seen Nandu stand up against bullying time and again. And since we both agree that what we see on TV affects our behavior i think its safe to say that whoever watched the episodes can draw courage to fight back. And even with the pre-cap if Nandu puts him in his place, which i believe she will, then that will be another lesson or inspiration for people esp girls to stand up for themselves.

If she doesn't stand up for herself then I think a lot of people in this forum will be disappointed because the Nandu we know doesn't take shit from nobody...
