Why DhruNi Not MaNan...!

Here for a healthy discussion, reasonable debate, no hard feelings! Hope to not hurt any fandom in particular.
Ola everyone! Till last week's store room episode I was damn confused unable to decide whom to ship! I believed that both MaNan and DhruNi have equal zeal and potential but that one scene ruined all the love I had for MaNan! For many that episode have been the best, I am sure but being a viewer of Love Hate story already, I know how in future tracks MaNan will be devastated. Well this is my opinion of course but we all have watched love hate relationships on television, be it Arnav Khushi of IPKKND, Zoya Asad of QH or Geet Maan og Geet Hui Sabse Parayi where they feel they are deeply connected yet they bicker or Sadda Haq's Sanyukta and Randhir. In all these stories, the male lead have anger issues and due to certain reasons all they know is to hate the female lead, just like Manik does. Oh wait! All those who think I am here to bash MaNan, rethink please? All I am saying is the reasons why I am currently shipping DhruNi! No! I am not shipping them as a couple as when any relationship gets a Boyfriend or Girl friend tag, I personally feel that the zeal begins to diminish! Those thousand and one misunderstandings and dragged tracks by the CVs are hugely common be it any country, maybe because in real life it happens too (never having an experience about relationships, I cannot be sure of that though) Now that I have shipped one such couple who used to fight a lot and seen them lose their charm over time, I dare not ship another to get my Devasini mode back when I would repent saying why I shipped them.
Love Hate story have been an old story now, from the Mughal era when Akbar and Jodha represented the chunk of Mughals and Rajputs and their burning story of hatred turn into love (I never watch that serial, what I said is based on the original story of the two)
Having said that, I would like to add that Love Hate stories are the best to watch and read but that is when they offer something different for the readers, something which we viewers can't even think of. I mean maybe stories set in a different background, not college or office. I prefer high school any day! And if the background can not be different then the scenes can be unique, can't they? I mean that old Ekta Kapoor concept of getting the hero and heroine locked (Thank god Nandu didn't have claustrophobia or else I would have taken out my guns) I mean such tracks are good but only after certain point of time. But initially we need fresh scenes.
I am a DhruNian, not only because they share a different beautiful bond, but because their scenes always prove to be different! The Kuch Bhi Scene, The Yum Kaisi Ho Yaar Scene! These are unforgettable! Whereas the Mai Hoon Scene seems like a borrowed phrase! Why I am not liking MaNan is due to lack of originality!
I donot doubt the potential of MaNan at all but until their track gets original with less of Nandini being saved by Manik following that old story just for TRPs, I won't be able to love the duo! I have put the show on hold for a moment till I hear something different about it!
BOF Angle to it:
Let's be honest! I have always loved BOF minus Jan Di!
Reason: Goo Jun Pyo!
This scarred guy won my heart even when I was pretty bored of the screwed up guys on television cause of the originality in the track! In real life I HATE Bullies and that's the reason I find nothing amazing about Manik most of the time as he is that one wolf who is the sole reason of the strength of the horrifying Fab 5, but Goo Jun Pyon managed to make a mark. The story of Jan Di and Jun Pyo might seem too stupid at times as the girl is TOO rebellious, but the way the guy has won her is admirable. He has followed the "Bas Haq Hai Ek Mera" concept which made me go Gaga over the guy! Whereas Manik has been shown too white there. I mean if you want to ruin, then ruin in an adorable manner! The contract track was adaptation of "100 days wuth Mr. Arrogant" and that made me wonder if the CVs are Korean! Till MaNan gets original, the sole reason of me following the show would be Dhruv and the beautiful bond DhruNi share which isn't love but more of a SOLE-MATEship! I am looking forward to Manik. The day he will win my heart (I love this guy, only till his characterization is kept original) I will fall in love with the entire show! Till then, Long Live DhruNi, Long Live that beautiful bond!
But honestly, having said everything, I would say MaNan are easy to write on whereas writing on DhruNi is not easy AT ALL! But all who have managed to do it with ease so far, I salute you, because I know what it takes to think for a plot for them!

To all My fellow DhruNians who think DhruNi has ended.

Dhruni hasn't ended and nor would it end till we reach the last episode of the show or else no one will like the show as most of us are hooked cause of the soul mate thingy and even when MaNan will break up many times, Dhruv will be there for her, by her side! Yes Dhruv will be heart broken but he is a golden boy (i know others call him a chocolate boy) and he will learn to live with her memories friendship and affection! They aren't meant to be boy friend and girl friend but beyond that! Isn't that how soul mates are? Too transparent and too pure to be named?
I being a DhruNian am glad that DhruNi isn't the end game as their story won't be a typical love story with loads of misunderstandings and tons of break ups but a beautiful bond of faith trust affection and much beyond what the world calls being committed!

I couldn't agree more...
First of all thanks for the title & post!.. They are not many DhruNi fans that would make such posts (including me) so I was shocked to see a post supporting DhruNi as they are VERY few of those on this forum.

Coming to the love-hate concept of MaNan it's typical, so I don't find it that interesting... but when you look at DhruNi they are different, not only with their scenes but with their story line as well... so all support to DhruNi :)

Oh Yes! I am actually waiting for a catch fall MaNan scene which won't be as subtle and tiny as DhruNi's fall catch but an extended version with a BG score to it and an eye lock too long to watch!
I don't know how many of us are watching Ajabde Pratap but if I love them (In spite of knowing that the channel isn't showing the original love story as it isn't much known what happened centuries back) it is only because of a different love story with hatred but understanding!
The CVs need to reflect what they show!

Interesting. TBH, I don't really ship anyone right now. Except for Manik-Dhruv, but of course.
I can definitely see the potential and cuteness Dhruv-Nandini have. In fact, initially, Dhruv appealed to me much more than Manik ever did. However, as the show progressed, I have realized a few things. Like how Dhruv-Nandini literally have every conversation centred around Manik. When you take Manik away from between them, they don't even know what to talk about. Also, in defence of hate/dislike to love, it works because every show needs a conflict between the lead characters. With Dhruv-Nandini, there is literally no conflict. They are so similar to each other, so sweet that it gets boring after a point. It's because they don't focus on them too much and give very few scenes, they are able to hold on to the charm.
Dhruv, although, is a very compelling character and I'd much rather see him with someone like Alya. Like you said, bad boy-good girl trope has been done plenty of times. So has nice girl-nice boy. The problem is young people refuse to watch those nice girl-nice boy stories. DABH to Aur Pyaar something, a lot of shows use the nice guy-nice girl trope. So, it may not be right to say that hate-love reigns on Television. More like, it's people who WANT to see hate-love because of the conflict it provides.
Dhruv as a character is definitely more immediately charming than anyone else. Manik, on the other hand, takes a lot of time to get used to. He is too overwhelming. But I'd be happy enough if Dhruv-Nandini are paired properly and I can actually see Dhruv being equal to Nandini. She treats him with kid-gloves. Almost like she will treat her brother. Dhruv is patronized by both Manik and Nandini, who treat him like a child. They need to grow out of that to build a relationship between Dhruv-Nandini. Honestly, I'd love for Manik and Alya to work their relationship out and be with each other. First love is too precious to be lost. I may be the only one who is sincerely rooting for Manik-Alya.

NO OFFENCE TO ANY FANS.

I am going to answer this as a neutral viewer turned MaNan shipper. Dhruv as a character is too passive for me, so passive that there is no continuity, no growth in the Dhruni scenes for me.
Active characters drive the story, whether we like it or not.

Dhruni seem to be stuck in the same moment that they started off with, cute scenes and all. There is no progress in their relationship at all, all they talk about is Manik, or the weather like yesterday. Nandini seems to have shared her deepest fears, her secret loving for fireflies with Manik, but with Dhruv, they have nothing to talk about, I cant see any organic growth in their relationship, they seem to be in the same phase when they met right now after months of being friends, whereas with Manik and Nandini, you can literally point out the growth.

And as cliched as MaNan is, its the treatment that varies, its not like Manik woke up after the storeroom and gave up his ego, he is still fighting his attraction and Nandu is still to forgive him.

All great love stories have the similar stories, but the fact that even a novel like Pride and Prejudice with a kadoos Mr.Darcy and prejudiced Lizzie Bennet still remains one of the most favoured novel 200 years later is kind of a testament to the fact that how and why this kind of romance works.

More later.

If DhruNi were given a chance, they would have had a well developed story. The CV's wants to show a love triangle, while giving it all to one side and putting in one or two scenes for the next.
