In the weeks to come, the truant and vicious Aditya Gujral will be found dead under mysterious conditions at a party. The cops sense foul play.

Enter street-smart Mansingh Chauhan (Chetan Hansraj), in the capacity of a special investigating officer, who suspects every member of the Virani family for Gujral's murder.

Gautam (Sumit Sachdeva) has already been shown hiring a goon to bring a close to Gujral's ploys, although he dismisses it after getting to know that Gujral has recorded his conversation.

Top cop

Chetan will have a transition of sorts from his popular Sasha days with this latest cop act. Says the enthralled actor, "I'm playing a cop for the first time – right now, I'm working on the lingo and body language."

For the role, Chetan had to chop the long mane he sported for so long. "I loved my hair, but then I'm an actor and have to keep changing my look to suit the demands of any character I play. For a change, I'm going in for a sophisticated, mature and formal look," he says.

Adds the show's creative director, Shivangi, "He's a top notch guy in the CBI who only looks into special cases. He has a fetish for putting criminals behind bars and will trouble the Virani family as they have all reasons to pin down Gujral."

When quizzed about the character lasting in the show, she says, "Right now, we've roped him in for 20 episodes. If things go down well, we might retain him." The episode that marks Hansraj's entry on the show will air on Wednesday, October 5.
