#DilliWaliThakurGurls

#SukirtiKandpal is very happy to be doing one more youth based show, "That is the way to be as India is predominantly youth. Agreed that as of now family
drama's sell big time, but I am sure that currency of youth stuff will indeed rise very fast."
Coming to her character in above new Cinevistaas show based on a well- known novel,
#ThosePriceyThakurGirls written by Anuja Chauhan, she says," I
love #DebjaniThakur for she is like me a girl next door bubbly and vivacious. "
This animal lover is quite happy with the fact that her character also loves dogs,"It is a matter of satisfaction that all the pets on our set are well taken care off. I have always been involved in animal welfare but don't like to make a song and dance about it. I hate it when someone hurts animals. I have even stopped my car and prevented such cruelty."
Since her character in her new show is a Delhi based girl, what do you feel about the age old conflict between Mumbai and Delhi girls? "Mumbai girls are
definitely cooler. Having said that I am a north Indian (Nainital) and my entire personality reflects the same. I am nakhrewali like Delhi kudis but not chant."
In closing, she admitted that she is kind of a klutz," like Debjani I too have a habit of crashing into people and dropping things. "

Article on IF about #AamirAli

Popular actor Amir Ali, last seen in F.I.R on SAB TV, who has tried his hands in various genres, looks forward to play a convincing role this time as Dylan in & TV's #DilliWaliThakurGurls.
In conversation with us, Amir talks about the character, reading the novel and more...
Tell us about your character in the show?

Dylan Shekhwat, is a journalist and as I have seen journalists from past so many years so now, I have got the knack about how a journalist works. Every human has a different perspective to see things and my character in the show is the person, who goes to any extent to bring out the truth at any level or at any cost, like he does little wrong things though he is little manipulative, his effort lies in bringing out the truth and show people ki sacchai kya hai.

You have done a comedy show and now you are back with a serious kind of role, so which genre is more difficult?

When F.I.R was ending, I got this show Dilli Wali Thakur Gurls. Playing a serious or a dramatic role is my forte but comedy I never did before and so, I thought of trying and did F.I.R. I went on to be a part fo the show for four years and I can't believe that.
But let me tell you that comedy is the most difficult genre but luckily, I was not acting because the actors with me in F.I.R were so good that I feel, in the show I was being paid to go on the set and enjoy.
I like making my shooting place like a picnic place otherwise it gets little boring. So wherever you work, if you keep atmosphere good, it will be fun to work then.

What do you look out in a role?

I choose roles that I have not done before. After doing comedy, taking a comedy role was a very easy step, so I decided to do a completely contrasting role. My previous character was a funny and weird one but in this show my character is very classy. I am essaying an urbanized man who is completely opposite from my previous character.
I love to play different character with every new show because in films after four months you get to play a different character but in TV once the serial commences then 1, 2 or more depending on how many years the channel allows show's tenure, we do the same character.

Being the only handsome hunk on the set amongst so many beautiful girls, how do you enjoy shooting with them?

I don't know, what do I say (laughs). The girls are very pretty and very smart on our set. I have not done many scenes with most of the girls but eventually if you see that story, out of five girls, four girls are somehow or the other this guy is connected. I am not gonna talk much about it now because for that you will have to watch the show.

Have you read the novel Pricey Thakur Girls?

I haven't read the book because till date. I am not much into reading, I love to watch. So if a film or a show is made on any novel, I can watch that but I can't read. But I know that Pricey Thakur Girls is an acclaimed novel because I told my friends about the show which is based on this particular novel and most of them knew about that novel.
TellyBuzz wishes Amir Ali all the best for the role!

Indian Express Article smile emoticon
http://indianexpress.com/.../dilli-wali-thakur-gurls-mirrors.../

Dilli Wali Thakur Gurls' a new TV show, will reflect issues of the society towards women, and will be different from other entertainers on kitchen politics', say its cast members.
Actress Sukirti Kandpal and Sara Afreen Khan along with debutantes Shilpa Raizada, Monica Sharma and Meera Deosthale were in New Delhi to launch the show, which goes on air on &TV on March 30.
Based on Anuja Chauhan's book "Those Pricey Thakur Girls", the story of the show will revolve around five siblings who are "different" from each other and try to build on their own career while tackling the abomination of the society.
"What we do in serials is actual life. Our show is someway a mirror of the society. We show the real world in shows. They are a reflection of the society," said Sukirti, who will be playing the role of a journalist in the show.
Talking about her role, she said: "I play the role of Debjani Thakur. She has her own world of thoughts. Debjani's parents think she is facing troubles astrologically. As she turns 23, they start feeling that now her life will open up, but she doesn't believe in such things. She is an avid animal lover."
"It's not a melodramatic show. Rather it is a very humourous one. I don't think it's dramatic in the execution of the way the book is written. The show talks about empowering women. Even though others will criticise our (onscreen) father for having five daughters, but he is very proud of us."

Sara Afreen Khan, who made her acting debut with 2014 film "Total Siyapaa ", will be seen playing the role of Anji in the show.
"Anji is a fashionista. She only wears branded clothes. In the show, people will see her teasing boys. Also she is very close to her sisters and likes to beautify everyone. The character is quite similar to the one I played in the film. Although there is no kitchen politics in the show, we have tried to keep it real, " Sara said.
Delhi girl Monica Sharma will be seen essaying Chandu, a "very short-tempered girl ".
"She is quite aggressive and is an assistant fashion designer, " Monica said.

Meera Deosthale, who will portray Eshu, said of her role: "I 'm a tomboyish girl, who is currently pursuing her education. She aspires to be a tennis player. Eshu is more modern then all her sisters. "
Meanwhile, Shilpa Raizada will be seen making her acting debut in "a typical Indian housewife " avatar.
Talking about her role, she said: "Binny is very feminine. She always feels that her life is boring and aspires to be like others. The show is closely knit with the reality, where every girl will feel that this is her story. There is no saas bahu ' saga in it."
An interesting factor in "Dilli Wali Thakur Gurls " is that the names of the five sisters are kept alphabetically " Anjini, Binodini, Chandralekha, Debjani and Eshwari.
Set against the backdrop of Delhi, the show, which also stars Aamir Ali, Anang Desai and Supriya Pilgaonkar, has extensively been shot in the capital at key locations like Red Fort, India Gate, Dilli Haat and Connaught Place.

'Dilli Wali Thakur Gurls' a new TV show, will reflect issues of the society towards women, and will be different from other entertainers on 'kitchen politics', say its cast members.
