Apart from the on-screen and off-screen chemistry between Amna Sharif and Rajeev Khandelwal in Star Plus' Kahiin To Hoga, the serial was also famous for another jodi — Chaitanya Choudhry and Surveen Chawla as Akshat and Charu respectively. There were enough rumours about them doing the rounds, at the time the two were in the show. Ask Chaitanya about it now and he laughs, "I know it sounds cliched but we're just good friends." Then was it a case of smoke without fire? "It's just that we both were new and most of our scenes were together. We both grew as co-actors and friends and the chemistry worked so well that people started finding meanings between our chemistry. But really, I wouldn't have denied if there was something between me and Surveen," he says. Chaitanya adds that since both of them are busy with their own shows now, they get in touch off and on.
Chaitanya's character Akshat in the serial, was quite a hit amongst the younger lot. But he quit Kahin... in the middle because he thought his track was going nowhere. "After Charu's death in the serial, there was nothing much left for me to do in the serial. Also, I had been playing Akshat for almost two years and wanted a change," he reasons. Chaitanya's wish seems to have been fulfilled. He will soon be seen as simple, reserved Uday Raichand in Kuch Apne Kuch Paraye. "It's a beautiful script and I've never played a character like this before," he says. Chaitanya's also excited that Vikram Gokhale is playing his father in the serial. "He played my father in my debut film Love in Times Square too, so it's really cool that I'm getting to act with him again," he adds.
Talking about films, Chaitanya says that there is a big possibility of him returning back to films. "I do get approached by directors but at the moment, my TV career is shaping up well. But in due course, I'm quite hopeful of getting back to films," he adds with a smile.
