Science has shown it is the man who is responsible for the gender of the baby. It is 50/50 chance.
Of course, who would listen? Because they are elders, their word is final! 😡

Is it the daughter in law with the XX chromosome or the son with the XY chromosome. The elders need better SEX education and understanding and not superstition, or being so uptight that any forms of intimacy between consenting adults results in a trip to the police cell or having their picture burned in public! 😆

It's the flippin Y chromosome that puts the extra testosterone and makes the boy. 😛

here endeth the biology lesson.

Yes I really liked Parvati's reaction yesterday and now it's to be seen how she's going to tackle this situation.

I really liked that dialogue. Like she wasnt ashamed of her love,in fact quite proud of it. 😳

The portrayal of rape was horrifying and disturbing to watch and seeing Mets go through the atrocious crime. Just when I thought nothing worse can be shown as was shown in KZK with Mukti, but this was as appalling and disgusting.

People here have mentioned Pranay and thoughts from his point of view; I just want to add that it didn't take the rape to make Pranay the insensitive and malicious animal he has become. He has tortured Mets before mentally first by sleeping with another women numerous times, also punishing her for his so-called lost identity. And even had the audacity to bring another woman to live with him, in the same house as his wife was living in. Yes he was on the 'amending' track, and did realise his mistakes, but it was too late the damage he caused with Mets was already done. Mets had suffered enough already, and even with all the worlds change he did not deserve Mets. Maybe that's the main reason I disagreed with Paro's action in sending Adi away.

I could not see any reason why with what Pranay did Mets should forgive and forget, had Pranay just simply been misled and forced into the actions he did 'maybe' then there was scope of forgiveness. But what Pranay did, he did that intentionally, so deserved the consequences of losing Mets forever. I personally think those were enough grounds for Mets to move on without Pranay, be it with Adi or someone else, somewhere I feel this rape was depicted to justify Mets falling for Adi, as Ekta couldn't show a married woman moving on, not with all the social issues that come to it. It's sad but that's the sick reality and happens around many places.

On its representation so far it has been handled as sensitively as they possibly could, with such a crime I don't know where you could possibly draw a balance. I rather preferred it if they hadn't shown such a crime in the first place. But it's the aftermath of the crime and its depiction in all Ekta shows that miff me to no end. Be it with KT, Mukti, Nandani, why is it that the victim is always shown to need a Tulsi, a Prerna and now the way the things are going Mets needing Paro. I totally agree with you Vasu, that in the real life a lot of woman's who go through such crimes don't have Tulsi's, Paro's Prerna's by there sides to fight for them. Why show the leading ladies all 'mahaan' just in the name of the TRPs, or just for the sake that they are leading ladies???? Why can't the leading lady's take the backseat and forefront the actual victims at centre stage to fight the battle??? I much rather watch Paro providing constant support to Mets, but encouraging her to fight this battle herself, and make sure woman's out there who suffer such crime are inspired and encouraged to take actions themselves, and not to wait for a Paro or a Tulsi to come along in there lives to assist them. Now that would bring the much needed realistic and sensitive touch, and a great example to the viewers how to tackle such repulsive crimes.

That's why I don't want Adi or even Paro to go the extent that they actually fight this battle for Mets, but rather encourage and persuade Mets to fight for her rights and more importantly for her self-respect. And what we have seen of Mets she has great potential and competency to carry the centre stage of the show. I hope it goes this way, and for once Ekta can portray her actual victims with equal force, authority as she show's her leading ladies.

The incident with Mukti had emotionally scarred me for more thn one reason - she was also "remembering" it, and re-living it in that sense. The way Tina acted that entire hypnosis scene was not only commedable and award-worthy, it was so realistic and painful that it felt like I was the one reliving it😭

^ I agree tht Pranay was already torturing Mets long before this happened, but I couldn't find fault with Paro for sending Adi away. She didn't do it because Pranay was her grandson; she did it for Mets, who, for all Paro knew, still loved Pranay. If, after Adi had left (and this had not happened) had Mets come to Paro to tell her that she was in love with Adi, I am positive that Paro would have supported her, as she did when Mets told her that she would leave Pranay once he came to his senses. It was Mets' confusion and Paro's understanding of her narrow-minded, hypocritical, DISGUSTING family that caused Paro to ask Adi to leave. She acknowledged his love, and she feared for him and Mets, and the way that they and their love would be treated by everyone.

Now that, I completely agree with - its sad that even today, in Indian society, a "respectable" woman can't leave her husband for any reason that doesn't involve abuse, mental or physical. And yet a man can have as many affairs and mistresses as he likes, and the world turns a blind eye. And when I mean Indians/Asians, I am not necessarily talking about the ones living in the subcontinent. Asians all over the world, even here in the UK, have a similar mentality, a hangover from the days of the Raj. I feel we, as Asians, have a long way to go before becoming fully tolerant (of religion, faith, sexuality and issues like this) and thus democratic. Economically, we are fast growing to be a superpower, yet socially and ethically we are still a "third world nation".

@vasu- i agree with u yaar.I was totally miffed when sonu said that it wud be better if they stay away from"husband-wufe matter' considering that she is a woman herself and instead she shud have stood by paro 🤢 .The reason she gave to support praney was even more digusting. Its not if she is supporting praney bcoz he is her blood, but bcoz she wants those 500 crores that praney has which will strengthen her position in the house! how cheap!.Yesterday sonu's action proved that she id indeed gaurav aggarwal's daughter 😆 ,bcoz even gaurav cudn't think anything beyond money 😡.But the scene really depicted the attitude that most of the victim's parent have. They choose to remain quiet and let her daughter suffer bcoz they don't want their family to be disgraced in public 😡 🤢

I agree Sonu's attitude was disgusting yesterday and it was not because her insensitivity towards the matter but after so much happening she was concerned more about the money. It is sad but true that money plays much more importance than relationships and feelings

ye i too support ektha in this issue,,,,,, u know what even parents wont support the girl even she faced marital rape they simply brush it off saying he is ur husband and he can do any thing......it was happened to my maid and her parents dint support herand the poor girl is living with her husband ........and even if we want to help the girl whot we here from their parents dont interfere in this as it is wife-husband matter and we r no one to spoil their marriage as our daughter adjusted with that bastrad.

sick just sick even we want to help the girl and the girl also wants to take the help but the elders r so useless fellows they want to push their daughter in that hell only, hope seeing this serial they knock some sense.

thanku ektha for bringing this issue as so many r facing this problem.
