From a male P.O.V, I would say that pranay was asserting his 'authority' in the form of raping Methali based on cultural and behavioural issues. His insecurity as a male, because Mets was in love or had feelings for another was reason enough. I suppose he felt in competition or 'weak' compared to Adi.

Having said that, in this day and age, the idea not to get involved in 'husband and wife' affair , becoz they are husband and wife, is unfair and barbaric. That is the reason for 'honour killings', 'gang rape', 'wife beatings', 'husband beatings', yes even males get abused by their wife.

Tolerating something for the sake of based on: religion or family or cultural values or even tradition are things I go against and I have no belief in.

Final point, if you are living in a household like that, as in a massive mansion, and not a semi detached 3 bedroom house in London 😉 , I would say that each family person ought to look out for each other. Yes the binding principle of walking round the fire, and relationships and boundaries, bloodlines are there. But as a parent or a 'respectable' in law ( I have heard the stories!), who would tolerate the nonsense? I am glad that pranay got his 'just desserts'. But in real life, it doesn't always happen 😭.

So ekta put anuva rape scene in her serial 🤢 . I think from her P.O.V, it is one of the critical messages she wants to put across, I just hope that, she doesn't consider that the only thing happening and worth mentioning.

Thanks for reading. 👏

^Thanks for your views - It's nice to get a male POV on this issue; usually we only see the scorned woman's point of view...

If a husband forces himself on his wife, that is rape. Doesn't matter whether you are indian or not, no woman is a property of a man. She is the life partner, not a shoe!
Even in the Gita (apologises if I wasn't meant to mention religious books), it states that a woman is a life partner and should not be treated as an object.

I dont watch this show
but right now its on my TV
and I am sitting here cuz its
too hot in my room to work...

And I feel like spitting on the screen
at Pranay or just having his manhood
and ego stripped from him in a public
plaza.

In the USA, its called second degree rape.
No question, no argument, nothing - It really doesnt
matter what your wife was or was not doing with anyone
or anything.

I don't want Adi & Mets to be together like this. I really would like Mets to stand up for herself and make her own decisions now...... I just hope that Ekta uses her brains for once and portray Mets as a strong woman who will fight for her justice and happiness. And after Mets is finished making Pranay's life a living hell, than she should dump him and marry Adi in front of everyone just like she said and I hope that Parvati supports her this time and doesn't force her to go back to her creepy grandson.

Guys! whatever u say,but the past two episodes do reflect the sorry state of women in asian countries.Though how much our govt claims that women are matching up with men in every sphere of life, but the ground reality is that even today women are considered as dirt.Though the situation in urban areas is still better, but in rural areas which forms the major bulk of asian countries, the situation is horibble.

I can tell u this from my personl experience.Whenever i am to my native place,i get to listen to endless tales of women being kicked and harrassed for every possible reason, even to the extent of being beaten in the public. But what is more sickening is the attitude of people, they quietly prefer to watch the whole tamasha bcoz they feel its wrong to interfere in the "husband-wife matter"(just what sonu said yesterday) and more ususlly its women who are pit in a wrong light.Even 2day,most of the women are bared from attending social functions, just bcoz family suspects that she will go out of hand.People still jump with joy when they hear that their bahu has given birth to a baby boy,but frown on the news of a girl🤢.

Our society still thinks from a male point of view-which considers women gud for nothing, they are slaves to the men-dominater society.Even in the urban areas,we often come across the cases when a man kills a woman just bcoz she is earning or he can't digest the fact that she is more capable than him.Even i used to beleive that ekta's serial show no nonsense, but they infact show the plight of women who have been degraded by their society. There are thousand of girls who are being raped everyday, but only few actually are reported and even few actually get justice bcoz many fear that if their case comes into public glare, they will be harrased and feraing social stigma many of them drop the cases and i can say this bcoz i am an indian and i very well know the plight of our women in the country.Infact my sister has landed into arguments several times with my family over this issue and its true that the old generation still believes in the dictom that a women shud be a sati-savitri and shid always keep to her limits.

This is what i feel-we all tease ekta for showing unrealistic sitautions, but yesterday's epiosde very much depicted the reality of women and if ekta handles this issue in a mature way,it wud be great 👏 👏 .Atleast someone shud take the initiative,be it our serials. 😆

@esha - Paro wouldn't do that - not after this. I actually really liked Mets's thinking before the rape, whn she told Pranay that she would openly leave him and legally marry Adi, w/o fear of the world.
@ankit - I agree with you yaar, this kind of thing does exist. But what galls me is Sonu's reaction - her "this is a husband-wife affair" was not because she actually believed that, and not even because she had some motherly love for Pranay. If she had said that out of motherly love, I'd have been able to *understand* her dilemma, even if I opposed it. I could even bear the fact that this is the norm in society, to not interfere in husband-wife matters. But preventing justice just because you want a share in P' 500 crores?! That's beyond sick 🤢 Can't believe a mother - and a mother of a GIRL let's not forget - could ever think like that.

I kind of disagree with you here. I have kind of watched Ekta's serials and I agree she is doing her business but Tulsi, Parvati and Prerna are the only strong characters. Kkusum was strong but not as strong. I do not watch KAA, Kayamath or Kasturi nor I have watched KTH or KYPH so I wont comment on those lead actresses. Why show only leading actresses strong? Why not show Sneha, KT, or anyone else strong. Any why show only leading actresses getting justice? The girl herself should be shown strong. It is her story and its her life.

About getting justice and showing unrealistic: we all just want to cover ourselves by watching fiction. I would say: show the real justice in a bit realistic way.
The activity/script should be more of an eye-opener not TRP boosters.

Hi. 😃Well, firstly I'd like to say that I agree with u totally that the story should be an eye opener...😃 and that is exactly why I'm so much in support of such serious issues being raised on T.V.👏 As for the TRP's... 😃well, till yest, I was critical that people were saying that rape tracks increase TRP's coz I didn't agree with the thinking that maybe the audience enjoys watching rapes... but today, I have a different view point on it... 😳thankfully a more positive view point.😃 Its thanks to a small piece that has appeared in today's Mumbai Mirror 👏discussing this rape which has been shown in Kahaani... its written by Anil Thakerney.👏 He has written that last week another show tried to take up the issue of marital rape but chickened out at the last minute... altered their track and showed something else... I'm not mentioning the show coz I don't watch it so don't want to comment on it. And he's written about how Kahaani has taken up this serious issue 👏and says that people watch it coz they want to see how such a serious issue is dealt with... that's why a rape increases TRP's... 👏coz today people wanna see such issues dealt with...and wanna see strong women like Parvati take a 🤬like Pranay to task... I'm taking back my words that I used yest about the audience with great pleasure...👏👏👏 Believe me, that lil write up was good... 👏coz if the audience wants to watch such strong and serious stuff, its wonderful... 😳and if it is dealt with sensitively and increases TRP's coz of a positive thing, why not???👏 Well done Ekta...👏 👏👏

As for only lead actresses being strong... well, the lead has to be strong... 😃but there are many other strong supporting characters in every show...😉 as for realism... well, yest was as real as it gets... that disgusting family's reaction🤢 and Pranay's sickening explanation...😡 all was as close to reality as it gets... but I loved Parvati,🤗 absolutely loved her reply... 👏she rocks... 👏👏👏
