Chapter 27

Adi ran up to maithili's room to see where she had hidden the box…he hid in her cupboard when he heard her come in…

M: tannu..i hid the box under the bed..

T: why did you do that for??? It's the easiest place!!

M: exactly!! Adi will think of all the hard places and completely forget the easiest one of all!!!

A: smart!

Adi whispered..

M: I know!

T; what???

M: you just said something right?

T: no…

M: oh! Well lets go now…before anyone gets suspicious!

Maithili and tannu leave. Adi comes out of the cupboard and takes the bo from under the bed…

Downstairs..

M: 10 000!!!

T: 10 000!!!

WE SHALL, WE SHALL NOT GIVE SHOES!!!

The girls chanted while bharat and Pranay hit their heads to the wall..

P: tanu! 10 000's too much!

T: no it isn't bhaiya!!! Give it or else….

Pranay took out the 10 000 rupees and was about to hand it to tannu when Adi spoke…

A: array bhai!! Pehele joote toh dene do! Phir paise!

Maithili and tannu go upstairs to take the shoes but find out they aren't there…

Maithili gets annoyed as she knows only adi could have done such a thing…

She comes down the stairs quite annoyed and angry..

Adi is standing at the bottom of the stairs with his arms folded..

Mets finally finds the shoes in a flower basket. She grabs them and adi holds her hand. She pushes him away and starts running up the stairs..

Adi runs after her.

Maithili enters her room and runs round the bed with adi chasing her. She stops to take a breath. Adi jumps up on the bed and pulls maithili down.

She falls onto him and both lay on the bed.

She stares at him and he stares back. Both are lost in each others eyes.

Maithili's face increases in red…

She slowly turns around but can still feel adi's gaze on her. She tries to get up but adi's hands are firmly wrapped round her waist..

"adi…" she whispers…

A: hmm…

M: mujhe chodo…

A: hmmm….

M; adi!

Adi wakes up from his daze and leaves her. She slowly gets up and turns round to leave the room, but adi grasps her hand. She closes her eyes as his touch sends shivers down her spine. He tugs her back so her back thuds his chest.

Her eyes are still closed but the pace of her breath quickens. Adi's cheek brushes against maithili's cheek making her squint her shut eyelids. Adi smirks and lets go of her hand..

"go.." he whispers.

She opens her eyes and stares at him...she shyly smiles and runs downstairs..

Adi smirks as she retrieves the money from pranay and shikhar.

Pranay wears his shoes and sits in the mandap. the marriage rites begin.
After the marriage is over, malishka hugs prem and Shruti as per bidai rasms, she would have to live in Mehra mansion now.
Maithili stands in a corner weeping as mallishka's doli is lifted from their house. Mallishka comes in front of maithili and they tightly hug each other.
Ma: i'll miss you di..
Mall: me too metz..
both share an emotional moment and mallishka moves on with pranay.
Maitili ran upstairs to her room crying..
she sat on the bed and weeped. She ran through the memories Mallishka and herself shared. She heard a knock on the door..
"come in.." she meekly said..
The door creaked open to reveal Adi..
M; tum...? shouldn't you be at your house...
A: yes..but i thought i'd come see you..
M; why..
A: woh..acctually..i just wanted to tell you not to cry...because i'm there na! i'm there to take care of mallishka...sorry..mallishka bhabi..and pranay bhai's there and bharat too...

maihtili smiled as he rambled on. She looked at him warmly and hugged him. Adi was quite surprised at this,..and didn't respond. Maihtili realised sunddnenly what she was doing and parted from him..
M: sorry..i just..needed..
A:...needed a hug..??
maihtili smiled and nodded.
A: well..umm you can visit bhabi any time...you know she is your sister afterall..
maithili laughed again..
both adi and maihtili were quite for some time...they didn't know what to say or what to do..
A; umm...i..bye..
Maithili smiled..bye...

Thoughts of adi came to her mind...she thought of all the times Adi suported her..in Goa...in Panchmeshwar, and how she hugged him today, and a while back...
a faint smile came to her face and she drifted off to sleep
