sorry guys for keeping you waiting so long...i was on holiday but now i'm back 😛 and without further delay here is the next part 😃

Chapter 56

Dressed in a black half-sleeves boat neck top with crop jeans, she started brushing her hair. Turning round, she noticed adi putting on a black shirt. He caught her glance and grinned

A: uh Maithili…I can't do up these buttons…

She raised her eyebrow and turned to him

M: guess you won't be coming shopping then! Just give me your credit card. I'll be fine with that...I don't need you anyways

She smirked as his jaw dropped. Not being able to control herself anymore, she laughed as she turned round.

She felt a pair of arms round her waist lifting her.

M: adi! She laughed holding on to him.

A: you don't need me huh!…

He dropped her on the bed and began tickling her

A: you only need my credit card right!

He wouldn't stop tickling her even though she was giggling and pleading.

M: adi….stop!! she spoke in between breaths…Stop!!…she continued laughing

He suddenly stopped and watched her laugh. She calmed down and saw the way he was looking at her. He lovingly smiled at her and she smiled broadly back.

A: chalo..

He spoke holding his hand out for her. She smiled and held his hand.

M: adi! Mallishka di ke liye hum kya khareede?

A: perfume…lipstick whatever really…

Maithili rolled her eyes and looked at adi. He seemed to be staring at a new set of playstation games

M: adi please ha! I know you want to buy those…

A: no...they're not for me! They're for Tannu and…and Bharat!

M: sure they are! She spoke sarcastically and turned round

M: waise…you're not going to have enough time when we get back…

She looked coyly from behind…

M: you will have to go to office and you wont even have enough time to spend with me…forget the videogames!

A: no my darling…he spoke wrapping his arms round her…I'll always have time for…

M: for…

A: for the videogames!

He spoke letting go of her and turning round to get them.

She stood still and frowned "hamesha esay karte ho! Huh!" she mumbled.

Standing at the till adi paid the bill while Maithili waited beside him

Something caught her eye and she smiled

A: what happened?

M: that bracelet is so beautiful na!

Adi looked at the bracelet and then at her. Smiling, he paid the bill and spoke to her

A: chalo Maithili…hotel chalte hai…we have to get ready for the party as well

She looked at him for a second, almost as if waiting for him to do more than just that…

A: chalo!

M: hmm…she spoke following him

"He wants the videogames more than me! And he didn't even buy me the bracelet! Huh!" she muttered as she sat in the car

A: you said something??

She smiled sarcastically at him: no! not at all!

He grinned at her and turned back round

She tried pulling up the zip of her evening dress, but couldn't quite reach it. She smiled as she felt a warm hand on her back, slowly zipping up the dress. She slowly turned round and looked at adi…

He looked awed at her more than anything else…she looked enchanting that night, dressed in a cream evening dress reaching just above her knees, the elegant low back with silver sequence bordering the silky material…she looked like a goddess more than anything else. Her hair lay loose on her shoulders, her kohl lined eyes - he was at loss of words.

She observed the way he looked at her and blushed ever so slightly…her own eyes could not help scanning him either. He wore a chocolate brown shirt with the first three buttons loose. Strands of his hair fell carelessly on his forehead. She watched him smirk at her and slowly looked away.

His fingers fell on her hand and slowly raised it. Placing a soft kiss on her hand, he took out a box and held it in front of her. She looked at him in question and he blinked. She opened the box and smiled broadly as she saw the beautiful bracelet lying there. She looked at him and smiled. He took out the bracelet and wrapped it delicately round her wrist.

"thank you…" she whispered to him as he kissed her ear

Hand in hand, both walked towards the elevators when his mobile rang…

He looked at the number flashing across the screen and looked worried..

A: uh…Maithili…you go down…I'll come in a minute…

M; lekin adi..

A; Maithili, go down, I won't be long..

Maithili nodded and went into the lift.

Adi looked tensed as he picked up the phone..

"what… why did you call? I told you I'll give you the money!…not now!"

he whispered over the phone

"but I need it now!" a voice spoke to him over the phone

"fine…meet me in the party…but make sure Maithili doesn't see you!"

he put down the phone and looked troubled.
