wanted to say one thing, which is probably quite obvious but I am so
annoyed with the current KGGK track as you all probably are. I have a
feeling Adi is pretty much out of the show just cause besides Rajo and
Suyash, the Mehra family isn't quite important anymore. So do you guys
still want this A-M Fanfic? Also, I hate this whole Methali suicide rubbish,
they've made her character so weak and helpless and that really annoyed
me, so I am going to make sure that there is none of that in this FF and
that her character remains strong. So anyways, thank you for reading my
bull shit rambling and here is the next part-
PART 18
He chewed on his bottom lip and stared intently in front of him
pretending to pay attention to the spew of words flying towards him…but
he couldn't...focus...he was too distracted by the alternate reality of all
the feelings that had been frustrating him since…since he couldn't even
remember when…he looked at her…she was diligently taking down notes
as Lady-D rambled on…he wanted to leap across the office and grab her
and say…and say..…he couldn't quite finish the thought...he never
could...the thought had repeatedly crept into his mind over the last few
weeks-over coffee, in the canteen, during rehearsals, on their long mid
summer night walks and even during their late night phone conversations
that always kept him up hours after they were over-but he could just
never figure out what he wanted to say after he grabbed her, and so, he
held back the urge to.
He fidgeted uncomfortably in his position. She looked up at him and
raised her eyebrows, bobbing her head questioningly…he wanted to say
yes but he shook his head signaling no instead …would this meeting ever
get over?
"God!" he muttered out aloud…
Janki Devi: Yes Aditya! That's exactly what I was saying, We must pray to
God that this festival should go off smoothly and then the year will be
over and we can all relax, even you my darli… my dada-giri maestro!
Metthili giggled under her breath…she loved it when Janki Maam took his
trip..and she knew..she just knew him too, too well to know that he had
probably muttered 'God' in a completely different context …this guy had
all the luck in the world, she sighed. But he didn't seem too happy by
that, she noticed. It was as if he had ants in his pants…he was so restless
and agitated, he was practically hopping from one foot to another in the 2
feet of space that Janki Maam had allotted him to stand in…hmm maybe
he needs to pee, little kids usually behaved like that when they needed to
pee.…the relief on his face was plain obvious when Janki Maam
announced the end of the meeting…and that confirmed it she thought,…
sigh, men could be so juvenile and impatient, they couldn't hold anything
in!
As soon as he heard the word "over" he practically jumped in his place. he
couldn't wait to race out and grab her and..and..and maybe ask her out
on a date! Yes, yes! That's what he was going to do! Carepdium!- seize
the day! …Uff why was Mettelli taking so long…it seemed to him that she
was walking painfully slowly…
Adi: Mettilli hurry up!
Hurry up….why do I have to hurry up, she thought…what do I have to do
with it?...why cant he just go and finish his business…she decided she
would move as slowly as possible…she looked at him, he looked like he
was going to pass out…Jesus Christ, he's such a kid!
He couldn't take it anymore, he grabbed her hand and dragged her out of
the office and into the hallways,
Adi: Come with me!
Mettilli: Wh..Wh..Come with you..I cant come with you!
Adi: Why not?
Mettelli: Adi..because..because..how can I come with you…what will I do
there…that's so weird!
Huh? There, where...he hadn't even asked her yet…and she'd already read
his mind and thought it would be too weird to go on a date with him…?
He looked at her bewildered, forgetting about his apprehension…
Adi: Why can't we go on a date tonight?, he asked accusingly.
She shook her head violently and said,
"No I cant!"
She stopped suddenly,
Wait…wait..a date..he wanted to go on a date with her…now it was her
turn to look at him bewildered…
Mettelli: ..A date…you've been talking about going on a date all this
while?
She felt a rush of relief that it wasn't 'the pee date' that he wanted her to
come for, boy did she have a bad habit of jumping to crazy conclusions…
and then she felt anxiety swell within her…a date…with Adi…how
excitingly intimidating would that be!
He looked at her…she looked utterly confused and uncomfortable…his
palms began to sweat…had he made a mistake by being forward about
his feelings? Boy oh boy asking some one out on a date had never been
this nerve-wracking…there had never been this much anticipation ..or
fear…or tingling…
His nerves and her hopeless expression got the better of him, and he
stuttered trying to cover up:
Adi: Uh, I mean a double date,..me with someone else..you with…some
one else…praney?
Now she was even more confused…he was going to ask 'her' on a date
wasn't he?…all she could think of saying was,
"Praney doesn't go on dates.."
Adi: Geez you cant even get lover boy to go out on a date with you…!
How old-fashioned! Tell him he'll be safe, there will be two other people
there to protect him.
Mettelli whipped him with her hand: Fine I am coming with Praney, where
should I..err, WE meet you and Mahi?
Adi: Mahi…? Are u bringing Mahi also along incase Praney gets bored of
you?, he teased.
Metteli: Shutup Adi! Be serious!
Adi: I am being serious! I am coming with…err…Aneesa.
Metteli: And Mahi doesn't mind?
Adi looked at her confused: Why would Mahi mind?
Mettelli stared at him…Wow! They have a pretty open relationship….she
could never figure out what their relationship was actually, some times
they seemed just friends..and other times her insecurity got the better of
her …. But how could Mahi be all right with him being with other girls?..If
I was with Adi, I would want him all to myself…love him all by my self…
and leave him never for 'the next'….stop…had she just thought that all
that…she sighed, atleast she was rhyming now….sorta…sigh.
"Blue Lagoon! 8 pm!", he yelled behind his back as he walked away…boy
was he totally lost…that was the most twisted conversation he had ever
partaken in…where had he intended to start out from and where had he
ended up…sigh…now he had to go find Aneesa and ask her out…great
another worthless date…he berated himself sarcastically.
Later that night
It had taken her one hour to convince Praney to go on this date. Not that
he had minded at all to go out with her...in fact he seemed strangely
excited. But to convince him to go on a double date with "Vikram-Aditya
and his 'dame'!" as he put it, was a whole other task! But after much
badgering and emotional blackmail he had finally agreed.
And then she had spent hours getting ready…she wanted to look nice for
him…him who? That was a question she never bothered answering.
She adjusted the straps of her long flowing creamish-nude dress and
stepped out of the stall and looked into the mirror.
She let out a big breath! Okay, she was ready.
She walked out of the washroom in the hotel lobby, put her arm through
Praney's and glided as dignifiedly as she could towards the Blue Lagoon
restaurant in her 6-inch stilettos whilst her date complemented her a mile
a minute.
He was already sitting on a table by the glass doors with a stunning view
of the pool. The reflection of the deep blue water refracted through the
glass creating shimmering patterns on his face as he conversed
animatedly with the elegant lady sitting next to him.
He saw her reflection in the window when she entered. Her beauty was
striking even in her delicately simple attire. The colors of her clothes
added a most natural flair to her, he thought as she floated towards
them. Aneesa and him both politely got up to greet their guests….and
then that was the end of the majority of the politeness for that night…
Adi: So, Praney, stop cowering behind your girlfriend for safety, we wont
eat you up, you can say hi to us also, he badgered.
Oh..lord...Mettehli thought…this is going to be a very long, eventful
night.
Praney gave Adi a tight smile and polite introductions were done for
everyone as starters and drinks were ordered.
Metteli looked at Aneesa sipping her champagne…she was draped in
pearls, wearing an elegant white dress. Of course she was, she
muttered…she remembered Adi had once offered to show her his 'Little
Black Book'…boy was that a mistake…she had been so scandalized by all
the stunners he had taken out on his so-called 'worthless' dates.
Aneesa crouched forward on her elbows and looked at Praney as if she
were analyzing amoeba under a microscope,
Aneesa: So, how long have you guys known each other?
Praney in his usual awkward demeanor: Uh since we were kids, she's best
friends with my sister Pragati.
Aneesa snidely: Ohh, how cute!
Aneesa: And how long have you guys been dating?
Well done Aneesa! Adi thought. He couldn't help smirking as he saw
Metteli and Praney turn lobster red…hmm…perhaps metteli was more of
a cherry red…either way, he was delighted. He had been indirectly asking
Mettelli that question for as long as he could remember and she had
always given ambiguous answers and long stories. Now it would be fun to
have lover boy on the spot!
Praney stuttered: Uh…err…well
Adi: Well?
Praney: I am not dating anyone…right now…
Hmm…'right now'..intriguing, but not good enough he thought. He
wanted to know more.
He conducted the classic 'yawn and stretch' move and slimily put his arm
around Aneesa.
"So Mettelli, are you dating anyone?", he asked carelessly.
Of course she wasn't and he knew that better than anyone, but he wanted
to know what was in her heart.
Praney, agitated that Adi was getting ahead of him in the game, sneakily
put his arm around Metteli as well and pulled her towards him.
"Ow!" she yelled as her hair pulled between their shoulders.
"Sorry", Praney muffled highly embarrassed, as Adi triumphantly smiled at
him on winning the 'ego battle' round one, the importance of which only
a guy could understand.
Adi continued tauntingly: So Metteli what about you..?
Praney pulled Mettelli closer, this time more carefully and replied, "She's
with me tonight."
Metteli looked at Praney pleasantly surprised, what was up with him
tonight? He had been gushing compliments from the moment he came to
pick her up. If she didn't know any better, she would have said that he
had been flirting with her the past few days.
Adi was slightly taken aback by this response. All right emasculated
chicken, he thought, so your getting some of your testosterone back, but
don't preen your feathers too soon because it doesn't mean you're a
crowing rooster yet!
Adi grabbed Aneesa's hand: Darling you look stunning today!
Praney: Mettelli…. You look stunning everyday…
Aneesa and Mettelli exchanged glances but neither knew how to stop this
charade.
Adi: Aneesa Darling, why don't you tell them what a fantastic cook you
are!
Aneesa meekly: Adi I don't cook, she said but no one was paying
attention anymore.
Praney: Metteli, Tell them how well you cook!
Mettelli sighed: Uh guys..I cook well..
Adi: Aneesa darlin, tell em' how good a masseuse you are!
Metteli leaning forward surprised: You've given him massages before?
Aneesa: No I wa
Praney interrupted her pulling Mettelli back: Metteli I give very good
massages as well!
Metteli aghast: Praney?!
Adi laughed to himself, well done brother, good one.
Aneesa diplomatically: Uhhuhm, massages-shmasages, so Mettelli tell me
more about you…what do you like to read?
Adi: Fountainhead.. her favorite book is fountainhead, by Ayn Rand.
Praney: No its Kahlil Gibran's The Prophet, shes been raving about it the
last few days.
Adi cocked his eyebrows up and smiled at Mettelli and said: Has she
really? I wonder why…
Metteli blushed and smiled sheepishly at Adi.
Praney: Yes Adi she has, but you don't seem the book-reading type so
you wouldn't know. Hows the sports going, Badminton is it?, he jeered
mockingly.
Mettelli automatically: No he plays cricket and its going very well.
Praney: How do you know Mets?, said Praney startled that Mettelli was
responding for Adi.
Metteli: Ive played with him before
Adi reiterating mischeviously: yes…she has played wit the player before…
Uff Adi! metheli thought smiling to herself, he has to add mirchi to every
situation. His life was incomplete with out it.
Aneesa grasping for things to say: Ahaha…Adi…very clever..player-
player, I like the pun…your reputation precedes you..
Adi: Oh Aneesa, Im just an innocent 'player'.
Metteli: He is a Casanova.
Praney: He is a womaizer.
Aneesa: err..
Praney: He's dated hundreds of women…but don't worry, you guys go
well together…Adi-Aneesa..A-A..made in heaven don't you think Metteli?,
he said possessively putting his hand on hers.
Metteli: Actually Aneesa, its more like 20 something…I think your number
27..
Aneesa's widened her eyes,
Adi sheepishly: She's right.
Aneesa: She's right?
Praney: She's right?
Aneesa and Praney: How does she know?
Adi: Err…she's my wife…..and she keeps tab of all my mistresses..
Praney who was leisurely sipping his wine, spat his drink back in his glass
upon hearing this. He quickly dabbed his mouth with a napkin to cover up
and stretched his arm out to conduct another 'stretch and yawn move'
but this time he knocked his wine glass into his lap. He hurriedly tried
dabbing the delicate area with napkins and luckily realized that everyone
else seemed too engrossed in the conversation to notice….geez why cant
I be slick and smooth like some other people, he fitfully thought.
Mettelli giggled looking at poor Aneesa who looked like she was going to
pass out after hearing Adi's comment. She felt a nudge in the side of her
stomach …praney ...oops...she realized.
Metteli: No, No he's just kidding, we are just good friends, she said
attempting to kick Adi under the table.
"Ouch!"
"Adi I think that was meant for you!" Aneesa yelped in pain as Mettheli's 6
inch heel dug in to her skin.
Adi laughed out aloud, "Good job! Maithili! You just attacked my date!"
Metteli completely embarrased: I am so so sorry Aneesa!
Aneesa sighed: No worries, So Metteli, how many people have you dated?
Adi: Just one,
That too in her dreams, reality only happens on special days like this.
The moment he said it he knew he was wrong. How could he have let that
slip out of his mouth…f***….but Praney was rather daft …maybe he
wouldn't know that they were talking about him..after all he had been
staring down at his crotch and dabbing it with napkins for the last few
minutes….he didn't even want to begin to know what the loser was up
to…and Aneesa..she was just another bimbette..
Aneesa: Does he mean Praney? the one who you are with tonight?
Adi sighed…okay not so much of a bimbette anymore,…well done Adi!,
he berated himself, of all the days to find a semi-intellegent date you had
to pick today!
Praney stared at Mettelli, waiting for her to reply and unsure of what to
expect………
Maithili threw down her napkin and pushed back her chair with a loud
scraping noise,
"Please excuse me!"
Praney: Metteli, wait what happened? Wait!
Adi looked at Praney…the guy was thick-headed and just plain
dumb...the climax had just happened, the story was ending and he was
still sitting there with a gaping mouth and a toad-like expression and
asking who the main character was!
Adi got up to go after Mettili: I'll get her.
Praney couldn't decide whether to get up or not..he knew he should
follow Mettelli out..but…but his pants were wet…in all the wrong places…
maybe, just maybe no one would notice he thought hopefully and also
started getting up,
Praney growled at Adi: No wait I'll go after her!
Adi firmly pushed Praney back down in his seat and said, "You just sit
here you wounded soldier, I'll rescue the belle of the ball." He then
whispered into Praney's ear, " I know about the err..leak." And with that
he raced off after Mettelli.
20 minutes later
"Mettelli please open!"
" Come on I said I am sorry"
" I am sorry, I am sorry I am sorry", he wheedled as he rested his head
wearily against the door. He had been banging on the door of the ladies
washroom for the last fifteen minutes but Maithili was refusing to come
out. He was getting more and more embarrassed by the moment as
people passing by were beginning to stare. He looked like a fool and he
knew it….thats it..he had had enough!
He stormed into the washroom all guns blazing. She sat crossed legged
on the Italian marbled counter with her arms folded across her chest and
glared at him.
Maithili: "You are lucky no on else is here or I would have you thrown out
in an instant."
Adi: Maithili….I am really really very sorry. I didn't mean to..
She jumped off the counter and stood audaciously in front of him. She
wasn't afraid of his towering body and well-developed muscles…she
wasn't afraid of being arrested under his seductive charm as he wheedled
and pleaded with his puppy dog eyes..
"What do you mean you didn't mean to huh?!" she said shoving him
backwards,
"If you didn't mean to why did you say it then, why? Adi Why? I trusted
you!", she said shoving him again so he stumbled back and fell against
the wall.
He was surprised at how forceful her tiny little fists were. He had
expected maybe a tear here or there…embarrassment…maybe a little
sobbing…but instead he had run into a boisterous lady, fiery as ever!
Adi: "I…I know...I really didn't mean it though…why cant you
understand…I ..he probably didn't get it anyways…he's too much of a
prick!"
"Adi!", she bellowed bringing her fists down hard against his chest.
This time he caught her hands before she could move them away and
pulled her towards him as his back pressed against the wall.
She looked at him fiercely….she still wasn't intimidated, he thought
admirably. But he had had enough, he wanted to sort this whole mess out
right now. Everything. He was tired of it all.
" Why do you care? Tell me why you care anyways? Is Praney your past or
your present?" he countered meeting an eye for an eye.
She looked at him silently…
There was an abrupt knocking on the bathroom door, "Excuse me…
excuse me sir…you need to come out…"
He looked at her, he wanted an answer, and it was going to have to be
now.
She had lowered her gaze now and was slowly attempting to escape from
his clutches…"Adi leave me!" she pleaded, refusing to meet his eyes.
Voice outside: " Excuse me sir, you need to come out now!"
Oh god he thought in frustration…couldn't the jack rabbit wait 5 minutes!
He was finally going to get some answers in his life.
Mettelli: Adi leave me!…please…just…leave ..me…., she begged.
He looked at her closely as the banging on the door grew louder…and
then.. he let her go….
Manager barged in: Sir, I am going to have to ask you both to leave right
now! This is behavior is inappropriate and absolutely unacceptable here!
Adi looked at Mettelli. She was standing there with an embarrassed look
on her face, her cheeks slowly turning pink. He sighed…back to the real
world, it was show time again. He winked at her gleefully and gave her an
evil smile before turning back to the manager,
" Sir this is my wife! And she was in pain! So she called me for help! She is
sick from….from the food in your resteraunt…And she has been
vomiting."
Maithili glared at Adi treacherously, daring to depart from his plan of
action. He subtly stepped down on her foot and she grimaced in pain and
yelled,
"Ah! Yes…err yes yes I am ill..so very illl!..." she said glaring at Adi, "..that
I may just vomit on my dear husband!"
Adi shook his head trying to hide his smile.
Manager: Oh my god I am so sorry, I really apologize…I had no
idea...dont worry please please, go and relax by the pool I will take care
of your bill..I am so sorry Mr. and Mrs …?
Adi: MEHRA…and when you reach the resteraunt send the toad faced boy
and the lady sitting at our table to the pool-side as well.
Manager: Yes ofcourse, and he hurried out
Adi smirked at Maithli as he led the way out to the pool side…this was the
second time in the same night he had referred to her as his wife ….and
he didn't know why, but he liked it...even if it was as a joke.
The aquamarine water of the pool shone under the soft lights and the
grandiose hotel stretching towards the starry sky was the perfect
backdrop. Adi waltzed out towards the pool-side where Aneesa and
Praney waited uncomfortably for their dates to return. He suddenly did a
double take….what on earth was the son of a gun doing…he had stolen a
linen napkin from the restaurant and was holding it in front of the fork of
his pants, scampering dangerously close to the edge of the pool, while he
clumsily squawked around chatting Aneesa up …."Oh lord!", he
mumbled…she looked absolutely repulsed…he turned and saw Maithili
quickly catching up to him. He had half a mind to let her watch the circus
show, but he thought better of it. He sighed...he knew what he had to do.
He turned back and speedily walked towards Praney pretending to
accidently crash into him.
Praney was caught completely off guard and he felt himself falling
backwards into the pool. He flailed his arms in every direction as he
looked for something to grab onto. He felt a thin fabric brush against the
tip of his fingers and grabbed onto it in an attempt to prevent himself
from falling. But instead he felt a huge weight crash against him and he
fell backwards even faster than before.
10-9-8-7-6…he thought he was drowning…he kicked hard and pushed
himself upwards….5-4-3-2-1 he finally broke the surface. He coughed
out water, blinking furiously to clear his eyes. He looked down at his
hand…he was still holding on to the thin fabric…or rather…someone's
tie, he realized…and he was afraid he knew who's...
Suddenly he felt his neck enveloped in the crook of someone's strong
arm….was he being saved!?…the arm tightened around his neck making
it slightly difficult for him to breathe…no he was definetley not being
rescued…he tried to turn around to see who it was but the grip was too
strong..
" You idiot you pulled me in the pool with you!", a voise hissed in his ear.
He tried to turn again but the grip constricted as he was dragged to the
side of the pool,
"Adi?" he said in a hoarse whisper..
"Who else did you think, you idiot! You had to grab my tie of all things
and take me down with you! And here I was trying to help you" muttered
Adi.
"Help me..?" croaked Praney weakly.
" I knew about your leak you fool, so I thought if you had a little
accidental dip in the pool, things would be self explanatory and you
wouldn't have to hide your male pride behind a measly napkin…but
you…" Adi growled as he trudged up the steps of the pool completely
drenched.
Praney hoisted himself out as well and viscously grabbed Adi snarling into
his ear, " I didn't pee you moron, I spilt wine! And I am quite capable of
protecting my masculinity so keep your ingenious plans to yourself and
back off!"
Metteli rushed towards them: Oh my God are you both okay?!
Aneesa: Adi darlin!
Praney: I think its time we leave, he said glaring at Adi.
Adi: I agree…for once, he said glaring back.
"Maithili lets go!" Praney said grabbing her hand and pulling her towards
him.
"Actually Maithili you come with me, your on my way home" Adi said
grabbing Maithli and tugging her towards him.
"But Maithili's my date!" Praney barked pulling Matihili back towards him.
"But Maithili's on my way home and Aneesa is on yours…besides we need
to discuss some private stuff about the music festival that you're not a
part of", Adi said looking pointedly at Maithili and Praney.
Praney looked at Maithili questioningly..
Maithili just felt dizzy from being swung around like a yo-yo but she
continued,
"He's right Praney…..it will be more convenient for you also this way
and…the festival is in 3 days so…I am sorry Praney." she said slowly
untangling herself from Praney's grip and moving towards Adi.
Pranay saw Adi smiling smugly at him. The guy drove him nuts..he
couldn't figure out why he was seething with jealousy at the thought of
Metteli choosing Adi over him…but she wasn't really choosing Adi…she
was just choosing to go home with him..for convenience sake, he thought
trying to convince himself as he walked away with Aneesa.
Adi: Lets walk, its not too far, I ll pick my car up from Blue Lagoon in the
morning.
Metteli: Why, when you have the car then why?
Adi: Cuz we haven't been for one of our long walks in a while now, and
cuz it's a mid summer nights dream…and cuz I said so….and just cause.
Any more reasons you need?
She replied with a frown and they started down the tree-lined road as a
light breeze blew on the warm summery night.
They walked in silence for a while trying to enjoy the peace and quite. She
was still slightly mad at him and he was still too busy scrutinizing his life.
After a few moments they turned to look at each other. Neither one of
them said anything at first…..….and then they both burst out laughing!
Adi: What a crazy night! Next time, just me and you ok!, he said playfully
punching her.
Metteli between breaths: I cant believe you fell in the pool! Oh my god
that was so funny! I was dying to laugh but I was too busy being a yo-yo!
Serves you right you loser!
Adi turned to face her putting on a mock frown and placing his hands on
his waist as he walked backwards tripping all the while.
Adi: Your milk chicken isn't the brightest tool in shed you know Metteli!
I don't know what you ever saw in him!
He realized he had said "saw" instead of "see", implying the past, and he
hoped she wouldn't correct him.
Maithilli unaware of his little innuendo, playfully pushed him so he
tripped even more on the twigs as walked backwards,
Adi stretched out his arms towards her and said, "Hey! Don't I atleast get
a thank you for risking my butt for him. I am freezing out here y'know!"
he joked.
She laughed and gave him a BIG friendly bear hug.
Maithili: "There that should do it", she teased and he smiled back at her
warmly as they walked along side by side in silence again.
It's such a beautiful night… she said sighing peacefully and getting lost in
her thoughts. She looked at him tenderly...he seemed deep in thought as
well….she sighed again…life was so strange…from where to where they
had come…she remembered the first time she had met him…oh was it
volatile!…he had called her a waitress and she had been furious with him
as usual...that was nothing knew anymore she realized…they had shared
many numerous moments since then…some highly combustive.. some a
bitter-suite symphony…she smiled fondly remembering a few of them…
his anger when she supported Praney in the bike race, the rescue from
Batuk at Pragati's mehendi ceremony…that was their first real dance..and
he had slipped on Batuk's vomit, she recalled smiling,...and how she lay
in his arms weeping in the back seat of his car…she had felt so
safe….how he helped her with pragati…the fun times they had shared
over the last two months preparing for the music festival…hiding in satin
sheets back stage from Janki Maam, studying together in the library in the
candlelight…him obliging her crazy antics as she attempted to climb up a
tree to reach Pragati's balcony…she laughed out loud in joy as she
remembered the precious moments..They had become such good friends
over the last few months. Their friendship was priceless and meant the
world to her. But could she ever hope for more? Did she have the right to?
He knew he wanted more. He looked at her and smiled affectionatley …
she had the loveliest smile, he thought….it was absolutely mesmerizing…
he couldn't help remembering how much they had been through together
over the past few months…he still remembered the day he had held her
in his arms in his car…he recollected how fiercely he wanted to protect
her from the world...he had been so afraid to touch her, but he had still
held on as strongly as he could, trying to shield her from all the worlds
pain even though he just barely knew her back then…and the time when
she adjusted his sherwani for him...he could vividly remember how the
touch of her fingers had felt against his skin…the fire..the tingling...it was
the first time he had ever felt that way….boy oh boy was he in trouble...he
had been compulsively attracted to her from that long ago, he realized…
what could he do?, he thought smiling…she was a stunner…and it wasn't
just that…it was as if the more he had gotten to know her the more he
felt powerlessly pulled towards her…
He had been so lost in his thoughts that he hadn't realized that the gate
to her house was approaching. He pushed it open and she followed him
as he made his way over to the swing set in the little garden. He sat down
on his favorite yellow-seat swing and she sat down on the red one next to
him. The swing creaked as he slowly pushed it with his legs, and he
sighed blissfully...it was like the perfect night.
She looked at him as she lightly swung back and forth...his clothes were
mostly dry now and he was staring dreamily at the moon and smiling
dopily. She giggled and slowed her swing down so she could talk to him,
Metteli: Adi you look so dreamy and wistful...its a huge change to see you
so tranquilized and docile...
He slowed his swing down and twisted the chains so he could face her,
Adi: Haha very funny…but he couldn't help smiling even wider..
Metteli: How come whenever you come over you always sit on the yellow
swing?
Adi: Because the yellow one is my swing and the red one is yours. Simple.
By the way I don't think I ever asked, but how come you still have a swing
set? Not that I am complaining..sigh.. I wish we still had one..but I am just
curious?
Metteli: It's for my brothers children, when they come to visit.
Adi: So do you ever want to have children? he asked her inquisitively,
wanting to know everything about her.
Metteli: Hmmm yeah maybe…actually yeah..she answered casually.
What about you?
Adi: Definetley some day! I want atleast one boy and one girl.
Mettelli: But the boy should be first so he can protect his sister.
Adi: Exactly! He exclaimed as he watched her childishly rotate the swing,
twisting the chains round and round in one direction and then letting go
so she spun back to her normal position. She had such a cute, excited
expression whenever the swing picked up speed as it rotated back to a
state of standstill.
He continued,
Adi: Exactly, that's exactly how I've always wanted it when I have kids.
Mettelli: So does that mean you're the marrying type? Honestly, I didn't
think you ever were..
Adi: Nope! It still doesn't mean I am the marrying type!
She tried to stick her tongue out at him but she wasn't sure if he caught
her expression as she was rotating too fast, so she squealed instead,
"Adi!!"
Adi: JOKE! Just a joke! , he said laughing.
She giggled childishly as she continued her little tricks with the swing.
She was so adorable, he couldn't help admitting. The purity….the
innocence that radiated from her…he wanted so much to be a part of
it...he wanted to touch it…to feel it…to feel her...he wanted to touch her
face, he wanted to just let it all out...all the chaos in his mind, the tumble
of emotions…the utter raw confusion….the compulsive attraction…the
longing… he had tried once earlier that day but it had resulted in a
disastrous double date…he felt a well of emotions within him mixed with
anxiety and fear…he was so scared of the way she was making him feel
and he didn't know how to handle it anymore…he just wanted to
materliaze the moment before it passed and before the reality of his
feelings fizzled away..
He grabbed the chains of her red swing and turned them so she was
facing him, pulling her swing towards him so their legs intertwined. He
looked at the moon glistening above, took a deep breath and turned to
face her. He moved closer, gazing into her eyes as he lifted his palms and
cupped her face in his shaking hands…every inch of his body tingled with
fear, excitement and anticipation,
He looked at her intently and said,
" Do you like me?"

Hope you guys liked it, I know it wasn't the best of parts but I promise
next time will be better. Lol also, does Metteli have a brother, does any
one know? If not, I just invented one, lol, he has an important role much
much later in the story. I promise I ll try and update soon, I am excited for
whatever's going to happen in the next few parts.
