Arranged date - Ronakshi SS ( Final Part-5 Updated on 23.02.2020)

note : i like the couple and hence thought of writing about them. this has nothing to with the actual story. please read and comment.

Part- 1 - Lemon Tea and Sandwiches

He waited in the café for his date with a tv actress. Thankfully he has checked her pictures online so he would be able to recognize her otherwise it would be weird. He looked through the glass door as the evening crowd struggled to move in a faster pace. Being a surgeon was tiring physically and right now he has taken charge of Nisha’s part also as she is on a trip to Bali. Suddenly someone came and sat in front of him. He looked at her as she was covered from head to toe. A scarf covering her face and hair, full sleeved tops and jeans with sunglasses covering her eyes. “actually…I am waiting for someone ..so can you.. ?” Rohit made an attempt to excuse himself from the stranger . she took off her sunglasses and said “that’s me..Sonakshi”. He was startled and looked at her as if she is some weird specimen from other planet.

Sonakshi took a full view of the guy in front of her. Before coming here she had thought to herself a million times “why a doctor … why not a businessman or cool officer ranked person or an actor …. Life will be so boring.. forget about marriage even the dating will be boring as hell” . she has complained at least 100 times to her mom but no use. After getting dumped by her producer boyfriend her mom has gone crazy.. to be specific a lot more than her. She took of her scarf from her nose and lips area and again wore her goggles.

“okay” … “but can you at least take off the sun glass as now it’s 7.15” he requested/asked her ??

“I can’t afford being seen in public with just anyone… to date a celebrity you’ve to adjust” she said in a mighty voice.

“so , I’ll put it very straight I’m here only for my mom’s sake. She met your mom at yoga session and don’t know how but she wants me to meet you because she thinks getting someone from your industry would be a perfect revenge for my ex-GF who was a model. But I’ve no interest in you .” he blurted this to get rid of this date asap.

“same here …even I’m also not interested” Sonakshi said with a I don’t care attitude .

“then we should let them know that we are not interested.” Rohit said happily with a big smile on his face.

“no, we can’t .” Sonakshi replied making sure she sound impolite.

“why” he asked with big curious eyes with a fake crying accent.

“I have a deal with my mom that I would go for at least 7 dates so that she won’t force me to go on dates next” Sonakshi said.

“that’s not my problem” Rohit again said delighted.

“I can’t lie because I promised ” she said with a helpless face

He sighed because if they don’t lie then his mom will also come to know and throw a fit. Raima was a model but that has nothing to do with it as he has taken the break-up quite sensibly.

“we can do one thing” Sonakshi said with an excited voice and he looked at her excitedly. “somehow make your mom to change her yoga club .. make sure she doesn’t meet my mom” she said and waited for his response. He sighed and said “is this 1900 ..they have whatsapp fb phones”.

They sat silently thinking what should be done.

She ordered a ginger lemon tea and he ordered a cappuccino and grilled sandwiches.

Sona : you are not health conscious being a doctor . (unimpressed ?)

Rohit : hardly I get time to come to café so I don’t mind . btw I guess it’s true that t actresses are too focused on size zero. (cool ?)

Sona : of course they are also actors as well just like Bollywood celebrities. (mocking ?)

They exchanged numbers and decided just to get done with 7 dates.

2nd date was more chaotic. Both of them couldn’t wait to get over with. They realized that the other person is total opposite and it’s hard to get along.

Sonakshi insisted to go for a movie in 3rd date as just sitting and eating was boring. He picked her up and as usual she was covered fully which irritated him to the core.

“well.. you should have wear a burkha .. that would have been much better.” Rohit said being frustrated.

“this is what I prefer” she retaliated back .

“no .. seriously I see a lot of actresses went normally to malls or public places and there are videos of them.” He kind of questioned.

“that’s only part of publicity.. that’s only for camera” she said .

40 mins of movie and he got a call. He went outside to take it. Just 40 seconds later she got a call from him. She came outside where he was waiting to tell her that he is leaving. She suddenly remembered that she doesn’t have her car and she started demanding to drop her off first.

He quietly got his car and she sat on passenger seat trying to poke him about how insensitive he was . he said nothing, not even where they are going even when she kept asking. The car halted in front of the hospital he worked ..he stormed inside and she followed amusingly. It looked like people are already waiting for him. “ what’s the pulse rate … what about blood.. where is ajit” she could hear this much as everything was happening very fast. He was ready in his surgeon attire and wearing his gloves when he came out . equipment were carried from outside to the ot. The patient was brought in where Rohit looked tense. He suddenly saw her and said “my car key is at the reception take it and go” he indicted someone to assist her. But she was too numb to move . in last 7 mins she has witnessed a real medical emergency. She sat in the chair and took off her sun glasses , scarf and just watched. All were so busy that no one attempted to look. So this is what happens in real situations she thought. She could realize that in serials all that last minute emotional talk before operation doesn’t happen as she could see the relatives .

1 hour and 15 minutes after he came out and assured the patient’s near ones. He kept talking with the nurses and then senior doctor. That’s when he spotted her. May be first time he saw her face without any cover. He walked towards her and asked “you didn’t leave?”

“I was just waiting to get car keys from you.. you might accuse me I stole if I went without meeting” she tried to cover for her poor situation

He was too tired so she decided to take his car. Before leaving he made her wear her scarf and sun glasses and said “this is where you should protect your identity”.

She smiled when he looked at her leaving and murmured "good job". The whole night she kept thinking how hard it must be for him to be such dedicated to his work.He kept thinking how she tries to act as egoistic mean but in real her face makes her look like a kind and sweet one.

They both smiled at the thought of other one for different yet similar reasons.

Part -2 - Drunk Driving and Notifications

For the fourth one she came to hospital to pick him but when she called he told her he has a meeting right after one hour and he just finished one surgery. Sona being sona decided that they can’t postpone the 4th one so she will come and meet him in hospital . with in 10 minutes she will leave. She grabbed some grilled sandwich and coffee.

They sat in the terrace . it was nearly 6.30.

“you’ve taken this date seriously” he teased her for bringing food for him.

“I thought to seal your mouth so you won’t speak ” she gave It back.

They had casual talk over food for 30 mins.

He looked at her as she opened the can of coke and sipped looking at the sunset. He quickly remembered and said “my mom asked me to invite you to the anniversary party.”

She replied still looking at the same direction “you don't want me to attend.” "No...not like that" he quickly answered (without realizing) "then" she asked .. "your wish"... "I'll attend" she said looking at him."if You're okay with that" she again asked "of course yes." he smiled

“It's next Friday. I'll send you the address.” He informed her.

She got ready. Her dad was not in town hence mom decided not to go. She thought a small family function.. So got ready in a simple manner. well in sona dictionary simple is a little different for actors.

She went as per the google map and reached destination. What she expected was a two storey building but she was in front of a f***** big mansion. She called him. He spotted her car from first floor and indicated to come inside. In intercom he ordered the guard to let that grey one come inside and park it. She was greeted by him with a smile. He was ready in his normal casual cool look. “You call this a small function”.. she was like this was unbelievable .

“I'm not even proper dressed for such a party.” She complained.

“You look quite okay to me.. I mean proper dressed.” He said as a matter of fact.

She got a small gift of

She saw naren sippy and asked “is he your...” He completed “father.”

“F***.. You're son of the industrialist naren sippy.” She exclaimed.

“Yes... I thought you already know that.” Rohit also expressed his surprise.

Sona :“Why the hell I would think his son will be a doctor??”

Rohit : “What are you talking.“

Sona : “Nothing”

She met his parents they were gracious. Rohit already informed her for the guests and everyone she is just his friend.

The girls and ladies kind of made a circle around her. It was a normal family relatives party. She kind of enjoyed it as they were full of questions about her show other celebrities her good skin. He kept an eye from far as he knew she might just get into trouble.

His aunt dragged him in between all the ladies and asked him how did he met her. She looked at him and said "I want you to explain this" with a fake smile. He knew the mighty sona has run out of ideas. He started his fake story "she had a surgery" the ladies were "you had a surgery" with a questioned face. “No” she shirked and gave him a look “if you don't rectify this then I'm going to bury you in your house. She means her hair stylist.” He blurted. “Then sona was concerned about her stylist so she kept visiting and pestering me to do take care and that's how we became friends.”

She had a really good time with ladies.

He was sitting with his cousins when she came with pooja and asked for a talk.

“Rohit.. Can you ask someone to drop me off.. I want to drink.” She requested.

“No.. I don't think you will be in control.” He denied straight away. (concerned … afraid )

“Bhai we are playing something and if you lose then you have to drink..She has to participate. I will ask laxman to drop her.” Pooja wanted him to permit her .

“Come on.. I don't even drink that much and today I want to. She said holding his hand. You don’t want me to be caught in drunk driving do you?” She pleaded.

“Okay..” he permitted

“Yes”

She was about to leave he stopped her by holding her hand and said “no neat and not more than 4.”

“Doneee” she smiled genuinely.

He let her go.

Someone was watching them. It was raina's mom. To an onlooker they looked like a couple. He kept his eyes on her most of the time, smiled at her antics, searched for her in the hall when she was not in sight. She came and pleaded something, their hand holdings are as if they had a right on the other person. Her happiness made him smile and the lady knew this is not only friendship. This chemistry was not there between raima and rohit.

She kept waiting. Everyone was leaving but he won't ask the driver to drop her. As he walked towards her she told “I only had 4 pegs. Seriously. I didn't had one sip more. Please ask someone to drop me. I have shoot at 9.30.”

He asked her to come with him. he walked towards his car. She looked at him puzzled. He looked back and signaled her to sit. “I'll drop you off.” He said.

“Without my car how will I go tomorrow.” She questioned. “i'll ask someone (driver) to pick you for tomorrow and drop you at shoot location.” He gave her a solution."You will drop me off." she asked with an exclamation mark expression. "Yes" he said as if it's no big deal.. "why" she questioned

Rohit tried to justify "you're my responsibility. It's too late and you're drunk" (i can't send you with just anyone)

She got into the car. He drove and she started speaking “did I embarrass you”

“No.. You didn't” he assured her.

“My ex bf used to say.“ she let the windows down and closed her eyes. He knew she was insecure about something and tried to cover it up with her strict mean behavior.

“I'm not him” he said in a deep voice.

They were in front of her house. She looked at him with smile and muttered a thank you and then kept looking with a sweet smile. To him she looked pleasant. He suddenly moved forward and planted a peck on her lips. It brought her back from her trance. She suddenly realised what just transpired and got down. He drove off. She was too drunk to think it over and slept peacefully thanks to the inventor of whisky wine otherwise sona would have spent her whole night thinking about it.

One week…no message no calls … no plan for next meeting…

She initiated “are we counting the party meet as one of our date ?”

He replied “no.. it was an event and we were part of it.”

They planned to meet next day and pondered how to actually face.

They sat and both had an awkward face. He did feel guilty because she was drunk and she didn’t thought if she imagined a peck or it actually happened.

He said “Nisha is back so I’m going for a trip …. Kanyakumari .. there are two pair of couple. so next week we can't meet”

“interesting” she said.. hoping to get an formal invitation ?? well hope and heart are not controllable..

“I’m searching for a partner I could go with.. don’t want to be left out”he expressed. He meant a guy or girl from his circle and the idea of asking her didn’t occur because he thought they were in no position to move ahead.

She waited but he didn’t ask her to join . it felt like someone suddenly poked her with a pin and informed the 7 dates deal was the reality. You feel attracted but he doesn’t .

She didn’t say good bye or anything except “good luck …hope you find a right partner”

He did felt something was off but he didn’t think too much.

At Kanyakumari .. he sat with his friends and he had got Rachit to join him to help him not feel alone but everyone was concerned about him due to his break-up. Still he felt lonely and upset because sona didn’t react. He expected some kind of speeches and also prepared a speech for anything she say “we are technically dating and are a couple” but things just don’t go the way you wish them to.

He checked notifications. There was one from google “actress Sonakshi aka Parvati meets an accident”

one from youtube with a thumb of “paravati fighting for life”

why he got the notifications? You always get based on your recent and most searched topics.. from last 1.5 months it was all about Sonakshi Rastogi 😉

well details was not there but hospital name was there . he knew someone from that hospital and called that friend got a response “she is critical but will be okay I think”

all he could remember was the word critical. He packed and checked for flights but new year was only few days away… he took a bus to Chennai.. from Chennai to Bangalore by bus at least 5.30 hours .. from majestic to bangalore airport.. then to c. Sivaji airport … a hell of 9-10 hours journey chopping off the vacation of 7 days to only 2 days. he was concerned to that extent he wanted to know exactly what happened and how can he be on vacation when she is apparently in a critical condition.

All along the way while travelling the only thing he realized after thinking too much either he is becoming obsessed with her (because of her indifference, ) or ……. Falling for her ???
