yes you are part right. Mahabharata is the tale of good vs evil, vengeance and justice. draupadi vengeance and arjuns (pandav) justice. but in essence it is a tale of Krishna (lord Vishnu) war against the evil of men. purush- prakriti against men's atrocity. draupadi and Arjun were essentially lord Krishna's most powerful weapon's. draupadi is the symbolic earth that was misused and abused and thus thirsted for vengeance and Arjun is the sword that destroys evil.
no matter the characters Krishna is the symbolic guidance of god. and every man woman fighting against injustice and evil is Arjun, and the driving force for wanting justice by any man or woman is draupadi.
yes the Krishna Arjun pair is so clich. but any person fighting injustice is Arjun and the guiding hand behind is Krishna. weather Arjun or draupadi the gender does not matter;
