update 22nd jul 2010: Enter VIKRANT!!!

Part 1
Jyoti is on the phone & asks for 'Rags'. Kabir asks Rags, and tells her that she dialled a wrong number. Both are surprised @ how similar the voices sounded to each other 😆 Jyoti re-confirms the number w/ Reshmi, and wonders why he cut the call.

Someone knocks on the door on Kabir's end. It's Vikrant, chachi-sa's son (played by Ankit Arora), ushered in by the 2 bhabi-sas (I love the way Bhavri welcomes her devars 😆 - they look quite happy when their devars are around). Kabir & Vikrant hug, and the phone rings again. This time, Kabir asks Vikrant to handle it, and he answers. Jyoti tells him that she knows that he is Rags, and that Rashmi is in Jeevan hospital. (How stupid of her to give him Reshmi's whereabouts, when he tried to kill her 😡) Vikrant gives her the same answer - that there is no 'Rags' here and cuts the call. Kabir tells him that that's what he told the person @ the other end, and Vikrant tells him that it would be a good idea to turn off the phone.

Jyoti asks Reshmi to give her his address, but Reshmi tells him that she doesn't have it. (What a moron - married and had sex w/ a guy w/o knowing where he lived? 🤔) Jyoti is shocked. Just then, the 2 cops w/ attitude intrude and sarcastically say that they'll find out. They remind Jyoti that she asked them to come later, so they came. One of them asks her how long she's been having this affair w/ that guy? Jyoti orders him to talk to her politely - it was the guy who cheated her, so if anyone is to be interrogated, find that guy and interrogate him. The officer demands to know why, telling her that she is pregnant w/ his baby, and that one cannot clap w/ just one hand. Reshmi then perks up and tells them that she married the guy in a temple, and then he abandoned her: she did not commit any sin. Jyoti triumphantly gets back to her bhashan mode 😆 and tells the cop to look for the guy, if they have any humanity left.

Back @ the haveli, chachi-sa tells RP that Vikrant is back, and that he is the rightful inheritor to the kursi that RP sits on, since it was originally her hubby's. RP tries to point out to her that Vikrant is still young, and chachi-sa accuses him of playing favorites w/ Kabir. Then she looks up, and sees Kabir & Vikrant enter, and they've overheard this conversation. Kabir tells chachi-sa that he only signed up to do this for service and is not interested in any positions of power or a political career, and that Vikrant would be the rightful heir. Vikrant protests that Kabir is his older bro, and that he always held him as an ideal, and begs his mom not to bring this up again, since Kabir was like a god to him 🤔. RP claps almost jeeringly, telling them that their love for each other is like Rama & Bharat's (while this analogy was more accurate than a Rama & Lakshman, it was funny seeing him bring this up, given Ankit's previous role as Lakshman 😆 Also, it was funny seeing Vikrant making the remark about Kabir being like a god, since Ankit used to frequently say that in his previous role as Lakshman 😆)

Part 2
Jyoti is taking leave of Reshmi, telling her that she will be back tomorrow. As she is about to leave, Reshmi takes her hand and thanks her.

As Jyoti leaves, Vikrant arrives and inquires @ the fornt desk about Rashmi's whereabouts. Vikrant & Jyoti miss each other. (I'm still having trouble w/ Vikrant being in the same city as Jyoti/Reshmi, as well as the same haveli as Kabir. Jodhpur & Jaipur - CV's, get a map. It was a lot better when everything was in Udaipur!!!) Vikrant then goes into Reshmi, and locks the door. He then shows his evil side, which is the complete opposite of the act he was putting on w/ Kabir. He tells her that she was about to end her life, so how did she end up in hospital? He guesses that the same woman who's been trying to call him was the one who saved him. He tells Reshmi that he likes her and is happy to love her, but this baby is a major inconvenience! Reshmi tells him that it's their pyaar ke nishani (so finally Jyoti has infected your brain 😆 Incidentally, while what Vikrant did was disgraceful, I had the same reaction as he did when she said that!!!) He then catches hold of her hair, and tells her that he likes her, and she likes her married status, but this baby is a problem. He demands that she abort it, and she tells him that the doc told her that her life could be endangered. Vikrant tells her that on one hand, she's in love, and on the other, she doesn't want to face danger? He tells her that if her abortion is successful, she is free, and even if it isn't and she dies, then too she is free 😡 Reshmi is convinced by this argument. Vikrant also tells her to tell her social worker that if she dared intervene, her life too would be imperilled. Saying this, Vikrant leaves.

Back @ home, Padma tells Jyoti that she knows nothing about Reshmi - who she is, where she lives, so how will she help her? Poonam enters, and tells her to first get their own house in order before attempting such lofty goals. She tells Jyoti that unlike her, she's an ordinary woman, and if they don't have food in the house, what will they feed others? Jyoti tells her that this is where they differ - her parents have taught her that if they have 1 roti and strangers come, they should split it w/ them. (I cannot for the life of me imagine Padma ever teaching Jyoti, or for that matter anybody, that!!!) Poonam then tells her that it's a good idea to do that when the roti is theirs. Padma explodes @ Poonam, but Poonam tells her that Jyoti wasted the whole day behind this girl, and that had she gone to a few more interviews, she'd probably have gotten a job by now. Padma begs her to leave, and Poonam does.

In his room, Vikrant is recalling events in the car when he threw out Reshmi. Kabir joins him and asks him what he is thinking, and Vikrant denies anything. Kabir suspects that he's hiding something, and tells him that people only hide things if there is something wrong w/ what they are trying to hide. He tells him that his bro can't do anything wrong, (Kabir, you're in for a shock), and so whether it is love or something, and taxes Vikrant on it. Vikrant tells him that he is first, and that he is sorry Kabir got declined. Kabir tells him that he is confident that very soon, Vikrant will get his bhabi-sa back (and that bhabi-sa will be doing what she can to make Vikrant accept her devrani❓)

Part 3
The next day, @ the hospital, when Jyoti gets there, Reshmi creates another scene where she demands an abortion, and is slapped by Jyoti & finally overpowered. She then tells Jyoti that Vikrant had come and demanded an abortion, and then threatened Jyoti as well. She tells Jyoti that needlessly, everything is being risked, and therefore, to have the abortion done.

Reshmi then feels something in her womb, and Jyoti is so happy that she's managed to make Reshmi fall in love w/ her pyaar ka nishani 😆 She tells her that he baby is trying to tell her something - that it cannot be separated from her 🤔 Jyoti asks her if she still wants the abortion. Reshmi says no, but says that he will never accept the baby, and that it will be called a bas***d, while she will be called characterless. Jyoti promises her that he will honorably accept her. (Sort of like his mother accepted you, Jyoti?)

Jyoti then reaches for her phone and calls Vikrant, who is busy IMing another gal, probably to make her his next prey. He answers, and Jyoti tells him that despite his best efforts, Reshmi is still alive. Vikrant asks Jyoti what she wants? Jyoti responds 'honor', and demands that he accept his wife & kid w/ full honor. Vikrant asks - what if he doesn't? Jyoti tells him that she will bring Rashmi and come to his home. Since she knows his phone#, it won't be difficult to track where he lives. Vikrant's smirk is gone. He tells Jyoti to accept the current situation, or else she'll regret it. Jyoti tells him that that's the precise message she's trying to send him - accept his wife & kid, or else he'll regret it. She gives him 36 hours to come there and take Rashmi w/ him. Or else, she'll do what she's threatened. As Vikrant lets go of the call, Kabir is in the background, and has possibly overheard some or all of the conversation.

I liked the episode. At least, it didn't degenerate into a Kabir-Jyoti fight, but instead had Jyoti confronting Vikrant. I also like that Rags didn't turn out to be Raghu - don't want that in addition to being persecuted wives, Asha-ji & Bhavri-ji are also being cheated on.

I really wish that in her social service role, Jyoti stops trying to force women to carry their babies to term. I understand both sides of the abortion debate, but at least those who oppose abortion allow for mothers to adopt out their kids to couples who could take better care of them. But Jyoti is opposed to even that, as we saw w/ Sushma. And since she saw Brij become a saint, she's now assuming that the same can happen to any guy. But she's managed to brainwash Reshmi w/ the pyaar ka nishani.

I like this chapter of Jyoti being sidetracked from her job search to help Reshmi. Not only does it delay her earning money for Padma to splurge off it, it also provides a new pretext for Poonam to oppose her staying w/ them. And unlike when they left Udaipur, this time, I can see Deepu agreeing w/ her. And I agree w/ Poonam here - if they can't manage their own house, since Jaipur is more expensive, how can they think of sheltering others? I'm all for helping people, but there is that thing about charity beginning @ home. I'm glad Poonam drove her point, and I hope that since nothing else convinced Jyoti to leave, this one will. If I'm not mistaken, she still has the Udaipur house - let her go there, and get back Bhagya-da's job. All she will be supporting will be herself. Go, Poonam!!! I want Padma, Poonam & Deepu gone from her life. Maybe Jyoti can make a new family w/ Asha, Bhavri and now Reshmi, who has the khandan waris 😆

thanks for the update .Jyoti's confrontation with Vikrant must be interesting to follow.If Kabir overhesrs all the conversation that Vikrant had with Jyoti ,he will be curious about finding the truth about him and may be the result is meeting Jyoti again .And something that is a question for me too is the presence of Vikrant in two places Jaipur and Jodpur .Honestly I dont have enough information about the geographical situation of the two cities .So I saw the map of Rajesthan and see that the Jodpur is almost is in the centeral of Rajesthan and Jaipour in the East ,and it takes too time to be present in two places in short time .By the way thanks again.

Jodhpur & Jaipur are ~120km/75miles apart. So it would take some hours to go back & forth.

thanx vrisha....once more sumone mentions pyar ki nishanis i wud personally go and bash their heads together...lord,how inhumanly stupid is this jyoti???pyar aur stupidity mein fark hota hai...does this reshmi chick have a job??apne pyar ke nishani ko hava aur public tap se paani pilayegi kya??such trivial details obviously dnt bother this woman..since she dint even care to know where her "husband" lives..or get herself a marriage certificate..and how pregnant is reshmi aunty tht she can "feel" her baby?? quickening or feeling the fetus happens at 14 weeks at the earliest...and pregnant lady is so not tht pregnant..i really wanna sue this production house for all the bloopers related to medicine..

That struck me as well. Remember, when Sushma had her affair w/ Brij behind Jyoti's back, she went to his home, had sex w/ him, became pregnant and had that abortion. Even she was smarter than this Reshmi chick, and that's saying something. Like Reshmi, Sudha too married in a temple, but she knew where Uday lived. But this Reshmi chick - she has no idea of where Vikrant lives or even what his name is (if someone told me his name was 'Rags', I'd ask him for his proper name!), but she went on to not only marry him (which is deniable, since there is no certificate - she could normally have easily gone back and later married someone else) but also have sex w/ him, w/o even being introduced to her sasural. And when he leaves her high & dry, she's shocked.

But I did think she said she was 16 weeks pregnant. But I agree w/ you - in Jyoti's world, every woman who becomes pregnant must not only have their baby, but raise it themselves, no matter how desperate their situation is. That is why Jyoti thought Sushma would give a better environment to her baby than Sarika.

Anu, if you do beat anyone up, please do it twice - once for me as well. 😆
