Part 1

Contrary to expectations, RP does not slap Kabir, but tells him that he accepts his decision. Kabir tells him that he didn't think he'd accept it, but Jyoti told him that god always sides w/ truth. RP grins to hear that 😆 and tells him that on Monday, they'll go to see the girl that he doesn't tire of praising. Kabir goes on to tell him that they are not of the same background, and RP asks him whether he thinks that Raghavendra Pratap Singh is going to hesitate to accept a poor divorcee? He tells Kabir that such divisions are artificial divisions created by people. All this while, chachi is pissed. He tells Kabir that poor divorcees are the same as them - does this mean they don't have a right to a life? He tells Kabir to tell Jyoti that they will be @ their home on Monday. He then turns to chachi-sa, gives her a sadistic look 😈 and tells Kabir that she too will come w/ them.

As Kabir leaves, chachi-sa remarks that for the first time, RP has made a wrong move, and RP tells her that the politics of relationships are ruled by the heart, not the head. He tells her that love has to be won - it cannot be demanded as a right. He tells her that this is the right decision, and it will be better if nobody objects.

Kabir goes to Asha-bhabi and tells her that he cannot believe that his father accepted this, in this family. Asha-bhabi too looks incredulous @ this news, while Kabir tells her to prepare to welcome her devrani, and that she was very happy to learn that they'd be coming Monday. Sumer comes, and Kabir leaves, and Sumer starts twisting Asha's arms 😡 and accusing her of basking in his suffering. He warns her that Jyoti too would be ill-treated like her if she dared set foot in this haveli.

At Udaipur, Jyoti is visiting KK in Jeevan Hospital (seems like Ashirvad has had its fill of their visits 😆) and asks about KK. The doc tells her that KK doesn't seem to have a desire to get well unless and until Jyoti marries. Jyoti then goes to KK and tells him that Kabir's family has accepted her as a prospective bahu and will be coming, but that he has to get well soon. As she leaves, the doc assures her that everything will be alright (although KK didn't look like it at all)

At Jodhpur, chachi-sa is furious @ RP's decision, and RP tells her that if he has made such a decision, there must be a good reason for it. Chachi-sa is still angry, but RP tells her to trust him, and respect Jyoti since she's the would-be bahu of this house, and that on Monday, she will be going to Jyoti's place from their side (does this mean that RP won't be going?)

Part 2

At Udaipur, the Sharmas are rejoicing that there is after all a place for divorced women to get respected. Both Dadi & Poonam are overjoyed @ this development (would have been fantastic had it been for real) Deepu decides that they have to go out shopping, and asks Jyoti when will they be coming? Jyoti says that she forgot to ask. Sushma then suggests that she call again, and starts teasing her, and they all decide to get to work on the various tasks involved in the marriage. Jyoti offers to help, but Padma tells her that the bride's job is to dream, not to work @ her own wedding.

Jyoti then calls Kabir and they have a romantic conversation. Jyoti asks him when would his party be arriving, and he says he believes 4:00pm. She asks him whether he mentioned to his father her divorce and past, and he said that it was after that that he agreed to honorably welcome her into the family. Jyoti is overjoyed to hear this (if only it were true 😭) Jyoti then starts describing to him her hopes & dreams, and it is being w/ him. Kabir tells him he has plenty of dreams which can only be realized by him being w/ her, and starts listing them for Jyoti. Honeymoon - full 30 days, for kids he wants 2, 4, 6, 8, 12, 14 😲😆 and Jyoti tells him the country has a population problem (Jyoti, once you're there, if your sasural expects 14, 14 it is! 😈😆) He then overhears and argument, and tells Jyoti that he'll call her back.

Part 3

Kabir goes out, and sees a drunken Sumer struggling w/ Raghu @ the bar. Raghu is trying to explain to him that once their father had agreed, where was the need to prolong this argument? Sumer uses insulting language to describe Jyoti while accusing Kabir of revolting for her sake, and Kabir warns him against it. Just then, RP arrives and asks what's the issue? Kabir tells him that he had come to apologize to Sumer for hurting him, but Sumer was insulting the new would-be bahu of this house. He also demands to know that when RP had already taken a decision, who was Sumer to go against it?

RP tells Raghu to take Kabir away from there, and also to tell chachi-sa that Monday, they'd take the chundri. Once they're gone, Sumer derisively congratulates him for having one standard for one son, and another for the others. He asks him what about his always preaching that women should be kept underfoot? He reminds him of his teaching that a woman's prime duty is serving her hubby, and once her hubby dies, she should die w/ him (so Sumer is an advocate of sati?) But today, they're preparing to bring a divorced woman as the bahu? RP laughs, and tells Sumer that nothing has changed, and nor would it. He tells him that Jyoti can never be the bahu of this family, and Sumer turns to him, surprised. (Mayor-saab, which of your betas are you lying to?)

Comments

Throughout the episode, I couldn't but help get the feeling that there was more to it than met the eye, and sure enough, when RP asked Raghu & Kabir to leave, my suspicions were confirmed: Sumer confronts him, RP tells him that there is no way Jyoti is going to be welcomed into this family. So in other words, everything is just a charade to trick Kabir, and embarrass Jyoti's family. Normally, I'd be appalled @ Jyoti being @ the receiving end of such treatment, but to a good extent, she did invite it by refusing to consider Kabir unless he went through this masochistic exercise, in the process escalating the torture his eldest bhabi goes through. Still, it's beyond me that a parent could trick his own kid - Bhairavi's straight-forward no's to Uday wanting to marry Sudha seems so virtuous by comparison, and moreover, RP knows that he had already lost Kabir before, and could do so again. Only thing - RP used arguments that Kabir can throw back @ him, citing him. Unless of course, RP was lying to Sumer - but I think that's unlikely.

And like w/ Brij, this family has one alcoholic in Sumer, who couldn't stand straight, and one Bhairavi in chachi-ji (who today didn't look like a widow). Well, since Jyoti doesn't believe in living away from the family, let her enjoy this. I'm really rooting for her to enter this family - I can't wait to see her come in b/w Sumer & Asha, and give him some great bhashans. And I'd love to see her face when she finds out that her bapusa says one thing but means the opposite - although that's something even Kabir seems unaware of.

Having said all that, a part of me feels real bad that the Sharmas are in such a celebratory mood, while in Jodhpur, Kabir's dad is planning to pull a fast one on them. I also think that Sumer hates Asha since he was probably forced to marry her, and takes that anger out on her. Haven't yet seen the relationship b/w Raghu & Bhavri, aside from them sleeping separately. But wonder how Raghu will like it when he finds out that he too was kept in the dark?

So Monday, chachi-ji has to take the shagun to the Sharmas. So next week should see some interesting twists.

KK looked positively unwell - I somehow fear that he's pretty close to dying, despite what the doc told Jyoti.

Episode rating: 👍🏼👍🏼

👍🏼: RP publicly agreeing to accept Jyoti, and arranging a visit to her on Monday, the mood in the Sharmas over the Sisodia acceptance of Jyoti, Kabir's family planning 😆

👎🏼: RP's deception, Sumer's behavior

Thanks Vrisha for the detailed update .I think RP will not accept Jyoti as his Bahu .But form the begining I noticed that he loved Kabir more than his 2other sons .When Kabir called his Asha Bhabhi first time .she asked him when do you come back Babuji asking for you and finally he will agree their marriage in order to keep Kabir in the haveli forever but I doubt he wholeheartedly accept jyoti as his Bahu..By the way what will happen next we have to wait and see .Thanks again for the update.

I have seen parents do this before - they will cause misunderstandings between the couple to get them to call it off in the end - they will try to get kabir to reject jyoti and that way, kabir will be more likely to marry the person of their choice ...

but, in the end kabir and jyoti will win.
