Hi dears ... today's epi was dhamakedhar ... my update is not so much ... but hope you'll like it !
Part 6 ...
She took her shawl without a word and turned the other way. Soon they were driving out of the village. She felt fresh and alive, there was a smile on her face and she leaned back and closed her eyes.
He stole a glance at her through the rear view mirror. He was glad to see her smile. He felt an unwilling admiration for her. She didn't let anything get her down, he mused. She lived every moment on her terms. She was spirited, confident and buoyant. No wonder, Akash was madly in love with her, he mused. And for some reason the thought left him depressed.
Soon he stopped the jeep at the foot of a small hillock. She opened her eyes and looked around "Where are we? "
"Behind the temple", he said shortly." The view from the top of this hillock is worth watching"
"But how will I reach there", she grumbled, "It's quite a climb"
"I could carry you", he said simply.
She gave him a withering look and made her way slowly up the rough steps hewn out of the rock face. Just 10-12 steps she noted.
After a laborious climb she reached the top and plonked herself on a big boulder. The stone was warm and felt good in the cool evening air.
She breathed in deeply, feeling the fresh air rejuvenate her whole being. At that moment she felt great for just being alive.
Prithvi sat on another boulder not far away and watched her intently. Feeling his stare she looked towards him. Quickly he looked away.
"In a few moments you can see the sun dipping behind those hills in the horizon", he gestured.
She looked where he was pointing and sure enough the sun, a big orange orb was hanging just above the hills.
For the next half an hour or so, they watched in companionable silence as the sun sank behind the hills.
The sky was streaked with brilliant shades of orange, pink and red. It was like nature was putting up a spectacular show for their benefit !
Instinctively they looked at each other.
Thank you", she said softly. He smiled ! She watched in wonder as that smile transformed his face ! Gone was that harsh and curt, scowling man she'd got used to seeing. Now he looked incredibly handsome and almost adorable.
Mentally she shook herself – "Adorable? Are you out of your mind ? That would be the last word one would use to describe him ".
She watched him get up and walk towards her, "We should go now; soon it'll be dark and get colder too".
She nodded and got up. She shivered as the gentle breeze was now a cold wind. Getting down the steps proved more difficult than climbing up. Her hurt leg couldn't bear her weight and she gritted her teeth as pain shot up her leg with each step.
Just as she was about to give up, she felt herself being hoisted up into his arms. Without a word he carried her down the steps and walked towards the jeep. She wisely kept quite as she knew protesting would get her nowhere.
He gently deposited her on the seat and she mumbled a soft, "Thank you". He just nodded and got into the driver's seat.
"You should cover yourself with the shawl", he said. Wordlessly she obeyed, she felt too happy and content to argue with him.
Soon they entered the haveli's gates and she noticed Datha Thakur's car. So he was back, will he come to see me? She wondered.
Stopping the jeep, Prithvi looked at her. "Datha is back, do you want to meet him now?"
"No", she said and he looked surprised, He expected her to go to Datha immediately and complain about how he had tried to kill her.
"I'm tired", she said by way of explanation and got off the jeep. He stood there watching as she made her way to the storeroom.
When she reached the door, she turned back and looked at him. He was still there watching her. She went inside the room and shut the door.
She wondered who would get her dinner tonight.
