Lana - can understand how you feel. It's not just Indian men. I had an Egyptian girl working in my team with almost a similar & more pathetic story & had to deal with her situation from a workers perspective. Will share that story once I'm back in Toronto.

Okay completely off topic!! I know peeps from India will not be able to relate to this but when you are away from India it comes to perspective more.
I have 2 Indian kiddos, both autistic, the older one very verbal and very good in math and reads and spells well but comprehension is zero. If you show a picture and ask where is the setting he will not know why it is outside! I will have to prompt through various questions about the background to get it out of him. When is the time day or night, he will be at a loss to decipher! I have to hint about the color of the sky. And he is very sensitive and doesn't want to be corrected in any way even if he gets a math problem wrong. The younger one talks but you can say non-verbal. I have to write everything on a piece of white board for him to read and understand. Maybe the older one talks so much and takes all the attention and that is why the younger one doesn't get a scope to talk. The home scenario is tough I guess because the parents are separated. Mom babies them, the older one in 6th grade doesn't know how to put on socks or cut with scissors or any motor skill for that matter. I hear mom does everything right from brushing their teeth to dressing them up. Swimming days are a headache! Literally, I have to give them turn by turn instructions for them to get dressed. And the dad, he makes me raving mad! He is a stock market broker, filthy rich, 'new money' written all over him! Comes into my class as if he owns it, looks down on everyone and everything and makes snide remarks! I can see that his influence is much stronger than the mom's and the older one kind of looks up to his dad like a role model! Whatever dad says is written in stone!I had the older son's IEP on Friday for which I had to prepare for the whole week. Oh my gosh, he is a total MCP, arrogant and aggressive! I was zapped seeing him in the meeting! He snubbed the mom once saying, 'What are you talking about, you are not even a real doc'! The mom is going to school for Homeopathic degree. The mom sadly smiled and looked at me! The principal, other teachers, and staff later simply looked at me with big questioning eyes asking as if 'Are all Indian men like this?'! Shameful I tell you!In the meeting he said, He doesn't care about any subject but Math and Science. The older will be an engineer and so he has to do well in those subjects. Son is good in math but not in science. And he said his older son will look after the younger one. I looked at him and asked poignantly, what about teamwork, collaborative powers, social skills! To survive in this day and age you have to work as a team, you can't be a solo player at work, you have to listen to make others listen to you! He simply pooh-poohed me! I got so angry with this man I can't voice in words! Your sons don't have any bonding, they don't communicate, they don't interact in any way and you expect your older son with zero social skills to become an engineer and will look after the younger son! It is easier to teach the kids than their parents!I lost my patience on Friday which I never do! Even before the bell rang he walks into class without knocking and tells his son 'lets go' and the son got up to leave! I very calmly and in an authoritative manner told him he will have to wait outside for the bell to go and told the son not to walk away without being excused by me! You should have seen the face of the dad, he had an unbelievable expression! He walked out unhappily but I didn't care!Seriously, it makes me wonder are these MCP and new money attitude and traits prevalent only in Indian men! Are all Shehzades and Mahendars around? Aren't there any AMKs around?! 🤔 The other parents are also rich because our school is the best and richest in the district with all ranch owners as the parent mass, in and around the residential area but none of the parents are so aggressive and arrogant! They are more like needy about their kiddos which I completely get. They will insist on this and that for their kids but not making snide remarks and comments. They can be in denial about their kiddos but they are not disrespectful!Anyway, sorry to rant away but seriously I was so mad and upset on Friday! The whole week was a nightmare!
