Chapter 42:
The morning and the war...
There is a vast plain covered with greenery in between the forest where the soldiers of Sujamal's camp practice. The pre-war conference has been called there only. The large army had gathered together and was waiting for the main commanders to come and deliver the speech on final war-strategy. The troop of Sujamal- which only has mere 100 soldiers of his own with 3 royal generals and a big number of tribal soldiers associating them whole-heartedly, were eagerly looking forward for Sujamal, who has not been seen all the morning. The rest of the army- the large troop from Samar Singh's camp, was standing emotionless, waiting for them to come.
After a while Samar Singh came in front. He was in a typical warrior suit, his silver head-armour gleaming in the sunlight- just like the sparkle in his eyes... But if one can read the deep of his eyes, he will easily distinguish how much tension is mixed with that gleam of ambitions. Ignoring the question marks of the faces of the troop of Sujamal, he straight walked to the pedestal and stood with his usual dignity. Holding his head high and the hands behind his body in a kingly manner, in a gravelly voice he started his speech...
"Humare veer sainikyon, aap log aapne kshatriya dharm nivate hue, aapne jivan ki maya tyaag karte hue mrityu ko aalingan lagane ek bar firse yudh bhumi me ekatrit hue hay, iss liye hum aapna avaar byakt karna chahenge. Aaj yudh me jane se purv ek baat smaran rakhiega, ki yeh yudh keval ek rajya par adhikar jatane ke liye yeah fir ek rajkumar ki asha-akanksha ki purti ke liye nehi hay... Yeh yudh hum Rajput bhaiyon ki taraf se unn vidharmi Mughalyon ki ahankar ke upar ek ghatak aghat hay; yeh yudh uss kroor hatyara Jalaluddin Mohammad or uska pair chatne wala biswasghati Amer ki mrityu ka nagada hay... Yeh yudh Jalaluddin Mohammad ko sesh karne ke liye hay... [O my valiant soldiers, you all have come here to carry out the duties of your Kshatriya dharma leaving behind all your lives to hug the death, hence I will show my gratitude. Keep in mind before going to war today, that this war is not only to declare right on a land, or to fulfill the ambitions of a prince... this war is a strike on the face of those Mughals from our Rajput brothers; this was is a call of death for that cruel slaughter Jalaluddin Mohammad and his feet-licking traitor Amer... This war is to finish Jalaluddin...]
The speech was full of life and also interesting, but the royal generals of Sujamal's camp were becoming impatient. Why Samar Singh is delivering speech instead of Sujamal? Why the motto of the war is being distorted by him? The war is only against the king of Amer, why the topic of Mughal emperor is coming here?
"...Yudh ka nagara baj chuka hay; hum sab aapne paksh se pura prayaas karenge Mughal Badshah ko bandi banana ka. Agar unhe bandi bana liya jaye to yudh aapne aap ruk jayega, Mughal sainik humare bash me aa jayenge... [The hour of war has been started. We all will be trying our best to capture the Mughal emperor. If we capture them, the war will stop, Mughal army will be under our control.] Samar Singh continued along with the huge clamour from the soldiers. "Yeh yudh hum kuch alag yudhsaili se ladenge, taaki hum kam senakshay kiye adhik satru-sanhaar kar sake... Or humare sahayata karenge... Mirza Sharifuddin Sahab! [We will fight this war in some different war-strategy, so that we lose less number of soldier in the war... and Mirza Sharifuddin Sahab will help us!]
Sharifuddin came on the pedestal while the cheer of the soldiers converted into chaos. None wanted a Mughal to lead them! All started protesting harshly...
"Shant Shant... [Calm down...] Samar Singh took situation under control. "Hum aap logoko batana chahenge ki bhale hi Sharifuddin Mughal ho, parantu o Mughalyon se naata tod ke yeaha humare sahayta kar rahe hay. O humare niyantran me hay... Sharifuddin ki sahayta se hum aapne lakshya chhoo payenge. [I would like to inform you that maybe Sharifuddin is Mughal, but he has broken the bond with them ever and now is in our control... We will be able to touch our aim if he associates with us!]
The chaos reduced, but did not end completely. In between all these, Sharifuddin came to speak.
"Hum Shahenshah Jalal ka dusmaan hay, or dusmaan ka dusman dost hota hay. Iss liye hum aap logoki madat kar rahe hay... Hum wada karte hay humare bataye hue tarika se jung ladke aap log jung jeet jayenge kyuki Jalal kaise jung ladta hay o humse behetar koi nehi janta... [I am the enemy of emperor Jalal, and the foe of a foe is a friend. So I want to help you all... I promise you that following my strategy you will win the war as I know better how Jalal fights a battle.]
After some more time, most of the soldiers were convinced under the motivational speech of Samar Singh. At last it is seen that except some soldiers and generals of Sujamal's own group, everyone including the tribal troop is boiling in the excitement of war. Most of them don't want to use their brain in these political alliance things; they are ready for war irrespective of the commander. And perhaps there is no time to think much as the drum of the war has already ringed!
Still Nayan Singh, a royal general of Sujamal's army, a loyal to Sujamal, raised a question... a valid question...
"Kunwar Sujamal Singh kaha hay? [Where is Kunwar Sujamal?]
"Unka sehaad kuch thik nehi hay. O yudh ke karobaahi me bhaag nehi le sakte. [He is unwell today; he cannot join the caravan of war today.] Samar Singh caught his word instantly. "Ishi liye Sujamal Singh ke jaga aaj senapatitwa karenge Sharifuddin! [So Sharifuddin will lead instead of him.]
With immense shock all witnessed how the responsibilities of the dream-war of Sujamal are being handed over to Sharifuddin. But none understood the political complexities behind it. Only Nayan Singh stood up again.
"Hum Sujamal Singh ka namak khaye hay. Unke sivaay or kisika netritwa swikar nehi karenge... [We have eaten the salt of Sujamal Singh. We will not accept any other's leadership instead of him!]
All looked at him. A mild unrest situation was getting seen.
Samar Singh came forward. "Abhi itna soch bichar karne ka samay nehi hay; yudh hone me kuch hi pal sesh hay. Srif aapke bajay se yeh yudh hum bandh nehi kar sakte- kyu ki yeh atmahatya ka saman hoga. Aisa hay to aap yeaha rahiye Sujamal Singh ke pass. Baki sena yudh ke liye kurch kare... [Now it is not a time to think so much; only some moments are left before the war. We cannot stop the war because of your wish- as it will be equal to suicide now. If it's so you are free to stay here wih Sujamal Singh, the rest will go to war...] He smiled mild. "Chinta maat kijiega. Ho sakta hay ki kal hi Sujamal firse yudh kare... [Don't be nervous; maybe Sujamal will fight from tomorrow again!]
"Hum Sujamal Singh Ji se milna chahte hay! [I want to meet Sujamal Ji!] Nayan Singh came closer. "Abhi! [Right now!]
"Zarur! [Of course!] Sharifuddin smiled. "Chaliye aap humare sath. [Come with me.] He looked at Samar Singh. "Jung ka nagada baaj chuka hay, aap sipahiyon ko kurch karaye; hum inke liye Sujamal Singh ke paygaam lekar wapas aate hay! [The war bell has rung, you start marching with the army, I am coming with the message of Sujamal Singh for all of them.]
Sharifuddin left with a tensed Nayan Singh; Samar Singh assembled the rest of the soldiers... He started explaining the war strategy designed by Sharifddin. While explaining his frown deepened, and the generals in the troops started looking at each other with a deep question in eyes.
In the whole journey till war-field the sting kept on pinching Samar Singh hence. He was sure that the war strategy of Sharifuddin will be on their favour, but he kept on feeling that he is selling his basic humanity and the basic norms of Kshatriya to the addiction of ambition in this war.
WHERE IS SUJAMAL...
"Ayiye Nayan Singh ayiye. [Come Nayan Singh, come...] Sharifuddin led Nayan Singh in the tent of Sujamal. The ambience of the tent is too much peaceful, too much silent...
"Jaiye, dekhiye aapke kunwarsa kaha hay! [Go, see where is your Kunwarsa!] Sharifuddin smiled too much sweetly looking at Nayan Singh. Nayan Singh entered inside with the shock intact on his face.
"K..kunwar..sa...
No sound came!
"Kya Nayan Singh... Thik se dhundo unhe!! [What Nayan Singh! Search him properly!!] Sharifuddin whispered from behind viciously.
"KunwarSa!!
"Aab chillaoge to thori na sun payenge o, Nayan Singh! [Will he hear if you shout now, Nayan Singh!] Sharifuddin laughed out this time...
Nayan Singh glared at Sharifuddin for a while, then he started hunting for Sujamal badly... "Kunwarsa! Kunwarsa!... KUNWARSAAA!!!
Yes he had spotted him... outside of the tent, behind the tent. There is a temporary place of dinning behind every royal tent, and Sujamal's body was sprawling on ground, under the chairs and the table...
"KUNWARSAA!! KUNWARSAA!!! Nayan Singh rushed to him and checked his pulse. He was lying lifelessly- there was no sign of life in his face...
"KYA KIYA HAY AAPNE KUNWARSA KE SATH!!! [WHAT YOU HAVE DONE WITH HIM!!] Nayan Singh screamed out.
"Humne to kaha tha na, ki o swasth nehi hay? [I told you, that he is unwell!?] Sharifuddin smirked...
"Hume gyat tha... hume gyat tha ki yeaha kuch sharayantra hay! [I knew that there is a conspiracy!] Nayan Singh shook his head haphazardly out of rage. He started watching here and there and found the glass of wine lolling beside Sujamal...
"Aap logone maar dala unhe!!! [You people killed him!!] He screamed again!
"Zindegi or mat thori na insaan ki haat hota hay? [Are death and life in human's hand?] Sharifuddin smiled sadly...
"Hum aapko chorenge nehiii!!! [I will not spare you!!] Nayan Singh rushed to him out of blind rage taking the sword in hand, and eventually fell on ground when collided with Sharifuddin!
"Off yeh jasbaati buddhu Rajputyen! [Ohh these emotional fool Rajputs!] He sarcastically smirked and pulled out the dagger from dead Nayan Singh's belly! "Koi hay, yeaha aakar yeh sab saaf kar do! [Anyone's there? Clear all these rubbishes!] He ordered casually to some tribal servant standing nearby and went off while wiping out the blood from the dagger... While going off, he threw a sack full of gold coins to the tribal servant who was there to wash everything. "Yeh kal se chup rahene ka kimat hay! [This is your reward for keeping mum from yesterday's night!] He whispered...
After he left, the servant came to the spot. He tenderly touched Nayan Singh and closed his eyelids. Then he looked at back for once to check if anyone is there, then swiftly moved towards Sujamal's lifeless body, slowly stirring him... "Sujamal Sahab... Uthiye... Uthiye... [Sujamal Sahab! Wake up!]
GOING TO WAR...
Jalal was sitting on his couch, his elbow was on his knees and the palms were on chin clearly showing that he was in deep thought. His frown was deepening every minute. The messenger standing in front was staring at him perplexedly. Jalal picked up his face after some time and looked at him. "Tum jao! [You go!] He ordered in a mild voice.
He got up after the messenger had gone and came in front of the map and models used to ake the war strategy. He started calculating something in mind while looking at them minutely.
"Kya khabar bheja hay Maan Singh yudhkshektra se? [What is the news that Maan Singh sent from war field?] In the min time Jodha entered inside from behind the curtain. She sat beside Jalal and followed his eyes. Jalal did not look at her and swiftly started changing the location of the miniature soldier's in the model of battlefield. Jodha too got excited following the excitement of her husband.
"Kya kuch aisa hua hay jisse yudhneeti paribartan karne ka proyojan ho gaya hay? [Is there anything so that it has become necessary to change the strategy?] She asked after some time, when she felt it will be a right time to ask.
Jalal told nothing but nodded and handed the message that Maan Singh had just sent him from war field. Jodha read that swiftly and picked up her head with a sheer surprise in her eyes. "Sainikyon ke tukri me ek bhi Rajput sainik nehi hay, sab adibaasi sainik hay?? [There is no Rajpt soldier in the army, only the tribal are there?]
"O bhi kam umarwale adibaasi sipahi, jinke paas jung ladne ka koi taalim hi nehi hay. [And most of them are young soldiers, hardly having experience of war.] Jalal nodded.
"Parantu fir... Jodha bit her lips. "Fir Raipur ke sainik, Sujamal Bhaisa ke aapna sena, sab gaya kaha? [But then... where are the soldiers of Raipur and Sujamal Bhaisa's own troop?]
"Woh log bhi ayenge... [They will come too...] Jalal suddenly became too active. "Jab adibasi sipahiyon se ladkar Amer ki sipahi waqt or takat dono zaya kar lenge, or ladte ladte maidan ke bich me ekjoot ho jayenge, tab Rajput Sipahiyon ke tukri haamla karega... Or agar humara andaza sahi hay to... [When the soldiers of Amer will waste both time and strength in the battle with tribal troops, and will be centralized in the battlefield, the troop of Rajput soldiers will attack... And if my guess in right then...] He pointed towards the model. "Yeh log maidan ke piche wale jungle se haamla karenge or jung ke maidan me humare sipahiyon ko gher lenge... Or ho sake ki iss chhauni pe bhi o log haamla kar de! [They will attack from the forest behind the field and will corner our soldiers there... And maybe they will attack inside the camp!] He took a little pause and told in an excited tone- "Iss tarha ki tarkeeb-e-jung hum pahenchante hay Jodha! Sharifuddin iss tarha se bohot sare jung jitke ek waqt me Mughal Saltanant se bohot sara audhe haasil kiya tha! [I know this war-strategy Jodha! Sharifuddin has achieved a lot of status and reward once by winning many wars in the same strategy!]
"Iska matlaab Sharifuddin aab sena parichalan kar raha hay? Fir Bhaisa hay kidhar!! [That means Sharifudin is leading the army? Then where is my brother?] Jodha looked tensed. "Aapke paas or koi samachar nehi aaya? [Didn't you get any news?]
Jalal shook his head. He opened the chest and took out his armour and arms. "Hume jana hoga. [I need to go!] He declared in a low tone.
Though the war had started in the early morning, Jalal did not join the army of Amer in the journey to the main war-field... First of all he himself did not want to indulge in the fight of Ameris- rather wanted to think alone about Sujamal fiasco; and secondly, no matter how much does he try to deny, his body is not that fit to bear the loads of a battlefield still now. He has recovered a lot, the damaged tissues of his left hand is healing faster than normal and the daily exercises have helped him to regain the strength of the hand forcefully, still even now he is under medication, and often feels the sheer pain in the joint of hand and shoulder when he is out of the effect of medicines... But now, it was a critical situation. Yet Jodha looked at him a bit helplessly. "Kya jana bohot hi zaruri hay! [Is it very necessary to go?]
"Haa! Jalal understood Jodha and held her shoulder. "Chinta maat kijie... Hum thik rahenge! [Don't worry, I will be alright!]
Jodha smiled with a sigh and held his hands. Both of them remained silent for some moments. Then Jodha left Jalal's hand and hurried...
"Thik hay; hum aarti ki thal lekar aate hay! [Okay, I am coming with the plate of Aarti...]
After some moments; it was the time of bidding the emperor for the war with the wish of victory. Jalal stood straight in front of the entrance surrounded by his personal armed soldiers and a small troop of horse-riders, all set to go to war. Jodha came in front to put the jaytika on his forehead while uttering some mantra for victory... Jalal kept on staring at her face. Usually during this ritual Jodha's eyes use to glow with the flare of zeal and vigour when she chants the hymns of triumph. But today they were clouded with an uncanny gloom of uncertainty. Jalal sighed with melancholy... today the source of his extreme energy looked so pale to him! "Jodha... He touched her hand suddenly without bothering about the people surrounding them. He did not need to say more as Jodha smiled palely after gazing at his eyes for a long time. Then she inhaled deeply and regained the same glow in her eyes... Jalal also got back the internal energy inside him. The blazing fire in those doe-shaped eyes is the source of the fire of aggression and victory within him- before he sets out for any war... "Wada karte hay aapse Jodha, jis janwar ke bajay se aaj itni parishaniyan hay, aapki hasi jiske liye goom ho gaya hay; use aapke samne ghasiste hue laa fekenge hum! Hum sab thik kar denge Jodha! [I promise you; The animal who is the root of all troubles, who has snatched the smile from you, I will draw him in front of your feet! I will make everything alright!] He whispered in a husky tone...
Jodha put the tilak on Jalal's forehead and handed him the sword. Perhaps for the first time in her life she sighed with a burdened heart while sending her emperor in war-field. "Ishwar aapko vijay pradan kare... [God bless you with victory!] She murmured...
"Hum yeaha kuch sipahi motayen karke jaa rahe hay Jodha... Zarurat pare to or bhi kuch sipahi bhej denge... [I have already placed some troops here Jodha... I will send more in need...] Jalal told in a huskier tone again holding her hand... "Aaj do-paher ki andar yeaha, iss chhauni par kuch to hoga hi, hume yaakin hay!Yeaha ki zimmidari aap par soupta hu Begam Sahiba! Samhal lena... [I am sure today, before the noon something will take place in this camp. I am giving the responsibility of this place to you my queen! Take care...]
Unknowingly Jodha's heart filled with a strange feeling- a mixture of gratitude, pride and completeness. She knows from her heart that what Jalal said so casually is not just a casual thing... Jalal knows something might happen in this camp after he goes to the field, and he has given all the responsibility of that on Jodha with complete trust. He did not call for an efficient general, he did not tell any of his higher officials, he only gave the responsibility to Jodha, not as he loves her blindly; but as he believes on her ability to control any matter- be it a political chaos or an attack... Jodha's eyes shone again, he promised herself that she will make him proud today!
After the rituals being done; Jalal set out... After the small troop just on the verge to pass the entrance gate, Jodha called in a very low tone... "Shahenshah...
Jalal stopped... Though it is said to be an omen to look back before going to an important work, he could not help but to look back. Jodha had come closer..."Khayal rakhna aapna! Aapne aappar zyada zor maat daalna. [Take care of yourself. Don't stress much...] She told, in an almost choked, wet tone... Jalal could see a very little drop of tear shining at the lap of her eyes, reflecting her care and concern for him... Though this has become so common and normal for him, even today Jalal's heart starts dancing like a new lover when she displays such a deep concern for him only... His heart was dying to take her inside his arms and to kiss her lips deeply to wipe out the strain of worry from her face, but alas the time did not allow him to. He only smiled intensely to assure her about his safety... "Chinta maat kijie. Kuch nehi hoga hume! [Don't worry. Nothing will happen to me!]
IN THE WAR...
The tide of the tribal army was breaking on the soldiers of Amer. In the nearby caravan where the commanders of the team were watching the whole situation, Maan Singh was witnessing the whole incident in a worried and restless face. His father and grandfather were beside him, perhaps were trying to measure the reason of his worry. The other members of the family were either in the direct war-field or instructing the army. There was a flow of suppressed tension inside everyone. Maan Singh had clearly forbidden them to take any grave step in war before proper time comes, so the soldiers of Amer are doing nothing but to defense, but in this way the tribal armies are becoming more desperate...
"Kya kar rahe hay hum yeaha ruk kar... [What we are doing here?] Ratan Singh, one of Maan Singh's uncle stated angrily. "Abhi ke abhi agar akraman karne ka adesh de to o log abhi ke abhi saare ke saare adibasiyon ko mar girayenge! Or hum yeaha byath byath ke kya... [If we order to attack just now all the tribal will die in a few seconds. And here we are sitting mum...]
"Aap jitni saralta se bol rahe hay yudhbhumi me sab kuch itni saralta se nehi hota hay yeh aapko pata hay... [You know that things in war are not so easy as you are telling...] Maan smiled forcefully. "Inpar hamla karke samay or lokbal nasht karke kya hoga? Humare shatru yeh log nehi hay. [What will happen by losing soldiers by attacking them? They are not the enemies.]
"To kya? O log humare upar akramaan karenge or hum khare khare tamasha dekhenge? [So what? They will attack on us and we will stand and watch the drama?]
"Ratan... Bhagwant Das stopped him. "Maan sahi kahe raha hay. Yeh sab unlogo ka bichhaya hua jaal hay, hume soch samajh kar kadam barana hoga. [Maan is right. These are their trap, we have to step forward carefully.]
"To fir toap se ura dete hay! [Then let's blow them with cannon!] Ratan Singh groaned in anger. "Mughal sipahiyon ke paas toap ka intazamaat hay... [The Mughal soldiers have the preparations for cannons...]
"Humare paas sakti hay iska matlab yeh nehi ki hum uska durupayog kare or nirbalyon ki bali chadaye! [We have power that does not mean that we will sacrifice lakhs of innocent lives by misusing it!] Maan Singh told in disgust. "Or jaha toapyon ki zarurat nehi uaha kis adhikar se aap goleka apachay karenge? [And where we do not need the cannon in which right you demand to waste the cannonballs?]
"Mughal sena ki senapati hokar tum aajkal Mughalyon ke cheezyon ka hisaab kuch zyada hi rakh rahe ho!! [You are keeping account of the belongings of Mughal's too much after becoming their commander!] Ratan Singh turned his face with grudge. Maan Singh understood the taunt, though he reciprocated with a smile... "Kya karu Kakasa, wohi humara kaam hay; or ek Rajput hone ke naate kartavya ka palan karna bhi jante hay... Khair... [What to do uncle, that is my job! And being a Rajput I know to fulfill my duties... However] He looked back to the field again. "Humne Shahenshah ko sandesh bheja hay; unka sandesh aata hi hoga... [I have sent message to Shahenshah; his message is coming soon.]
"Sandesh nehi; Shahenshah khud aa rahe hay... [Not message but his majesty himself is coming!] Madhav Singh, who was just attending a messenger, gave them the news.
"Kya?? Ratan Singh was confused. "O yudh karenge o bhi inn adibashiyon se? [What? He will fight that too with these tribals?]
"Parantu aisa kya hua jisse unhe aana padega? [But what has happened that he is needed to come?] Bharmal told in a vexed voice. "Kya humare sare sainik paryapt nehi Maan Singh? O abhi swasth nehi hay or... [Isn't our army enough Maan Singh? He is not well now and...]
"O yodhha hay Dadasa, sharir ke duhai deke o chhauni me baithe nehi rahenge! [He is warrior grandpa, he will not sit in the camp with the excuse of the health!] Maan Singh said. "Or zarurat hay ishi liye unhe sandesh bheje hay humne! [And I sent him message as there is a reason!]
Everyone was silent after hearing the voice of authority in Maan Singh. It is ture that though Maan Singh is the youngest among all, he has achieved the adequate status and personality to talk with his elders with such authority when it needs to. His opinions definitely have much gravity then the random officials of Amer.
However, after a while Jalal came in the war-field along with his little troop and joined them. Without any type of formal introduction he just came to Maan Singh. "Batao kya ho raha hay Maan! [Tell me what has happened Maan!]
"Aap khud hi dekh lijie Huzur! Humne to aapko patra me sab likhke bheja tha. [You yourself have a look my lord! I had written everything in the letter.] Maan said gently.
"Hmm... Jalal did not waste much time to understand the situation in one glimpse. "Ek kam karo... Do sipahi ki tookriyo ko chorkar sabko wapas aaneka hukum do! [Do one thing... Order the army to retreat except 2 groups of soldiers.]
"Kya? [What?] except Maan Singh all screamed in surprise.
"Haa. Jalal looked at them. "Sare sipahiyon ko pichhe hatne ki hukum diya jaye. Unme se kuch 100 sipahiyon ko chhaunime lautne ka hukum diya jaye, or baakiyon ke sath hum abhi baat karna chahenge! [Yes. Order the army to retreat, order 100 of them to go back to camp and the rest to meet me at once.]
"Ho jayega Shahenshah! [It will be done Majesty!] Maan Singh told. "Par aapka chal kya hay? [But what is your plan?]
"Hume yaakin hay ki Raipur ke sipahi hume jung ki maidan me gherne ka chal chal raha hay. Jab Amer ki sipahiyan jung ladte ladte bichyon bich chala jayega, yeh sipahiyan humlogo par dono taraf se dabakar hamla karega! [I am confirmed that the army of Raipur are trying to corner us in the war-field. When the army of Amer will be centralized at the battlefield, those soldiers will do a sandwich attack on us!] Jalal explained in brief. "Iss liye hume taaiyaar rahena hoga, humko bhi unlogo par picche se hamla karke unhe gherna hay... Iss liye hume zyada tar sipahi maidaan ke bahar chahiye... [So we have to be careful, and will have to corner them as well by attacking from back... So I need most of the soldiers out of the battlefield.]
"Thik hay Shahenshah... [Okay My Lord...] Maan Singh nodded. "To padatik bahini ko chorke sabko pichhe hatne ka hukum de? [So should I order everyone except infantry to retreat?]
"Nehi Maan. Aisa kuch karna hoga ki yeh sipahiyan zyada aage bhi na barh paye. [No Maan. We have to keep in mind that those soldiers cannot move much forward.] Jalal told after a little thought. "Tirandaazyon ki fauz bhi baitha do... Unhe hukum karo taki o log ek ke baad ek tir ki barsaat kiye jaye, or adibasi sipahiyan zyada aage na badh paye.Or ek toap ka intazaam bhi karne ka hukum de diya hay humne. Usse chalane ki zarurat nehi. Inn sipahiyon me zyada tar log paheli baar jung me ane wale bacche hay; toap dekhke darr ke mare galat kadam zarur uthayenge! [Set the troop of the archers... Order them to shower the rain of arrows on them so that the tribal troop cannot come much forward. And I have ordered to set a cannon also. No need to use that. Most of the tribal soldiers are coming in the war for the first time; they will be nervous and take wrong steps seeing the cannon.]
"Sahi hay Shahenshah... [Alright Majesty...] Maan Singh ran to pass the order.
"Bhagwant Das sahab... Jalal looked at him. "Aap se iltaja hay ki aap bhi chhauni laut jaiye ek tookri sipahi ke sath. Uaha par Jodha Begam ke upar sare zimmidariyan de aye hay hum, aap unki madat karenge. [I request you to go back to the camp with a troop of soldiers. I have given the responsibilities to Queen Jodha, you will help her.] He told in a composed voice. "Or intezaar kijiega... Hume lagta hay ki kuch aisa hone wala hay jisse ho sake ki jung rook jaye! [And wait... I think something may happen which will lead to stop the war!]
Precap: "Who the hell are you that I have to obey your order???
"I am Mallika-E-Kabul, Mirza!! The emperor of Hindustan himself has given me the responsibility! With a voice full of authority, Fakhrunnisa hissed.
