Amazingly penned 👏 Beautifully captured every ripple of Harka's emotions and pain.

I was telling Lashy ... not sure why I am so focused on Akbar's point of view but perhaps it was Harka's pain that was deeper here.

especially this -A heart weighed down by my brain and Shehzaade was that brain. A mastermind who recognized my talent and raised me up in life. Now, I wanted to repay him with the price of my heart.

Thank so much dear! It is Lashy that inspires me to write so 😳

Even some of the metaphors- like the buttons- are from Lashy's own writing, I embedded then in my take.

Personification is one of my favorite literary devices- where a thing is described as a person. Thanks for Lashy to bringing it to life to me.

Sorry formatting is so poor on my iphone but I loved your poem - for katputli / bommalaatam is a perfect description for what Lashy is putting us all through. I like how your writings combine the reel with the real. Hats off!

The story goes ..


The Chapter nineteen is emotion filled
The author has taken care to build
How the two hearts which blended yesterday
Have hopelessly parted when they meet today..
How she has portrayed the scene is so wonderful
That it makes the readers' eyes tearful
The lead pair are puppets in her hands
She manipulates them to act as she commands!

Both the lead pair leave for their destination
Each is different from the other in their direction
But both do have something in common
Their hearts are heavy as if they weigh a ton!
The teaser created a suspense about the expectant chapter
And the suspense was for her when she met him later
She stood before him emoting her feelings
But what she received from him was not any word of healing


He was not the one she saw before
This was some one else who gave her heart the sore
Strange that the man who gave her the pain
Is sorry for what he did and for what he would do again
He decides to go in search of the Farmaan
She goes to Bansi to be with her guardian
Leaving her heart here with all the memories
He, on his errand with the heart heavy with worries


Thus we see the author's flair for presenting
The scenes she has chosen with the style astounding
Maintaining the suspense till the end
With warnings about the arrival of someone she has penned
Let us see who would the new entrant be
We will wait to watch the Katputli
Enjoying the dexterous working of her hands
Unwinding the knots well she has planned!

I am happy that you liked my poem. I saw the Bommalattam picure when I was searching Google for something else, and I wanted to use it in this context. Strictly speaking, my poems do not come under any poetry grammar (called in Tamil as SeyyuL IlakkaNam), but gives me pleasure in writing. Lashy's HBAS thread gives me platform to do it. You will be anxious to know who is our V.I.P today...I leave it to your guess...I can say that our chief guest today is a masterpiece writer, because whatever she writes becomes a masterpiece..Her latest serial in the IF magazine has crossed 2000 pages having a readership in hundreds... She also does the illustrations for her stories, and this marks her unique in the field of fiction writers in the magazine..Ah, yes..you could have guessed by this time...Yes.. it is our one and only LASHY, Author of the Historical Romance titled "Hiding Behind a Stranger..."! 👏👏

KK: Good morning Lashy, it is a pleasure to meet you in our studio, and I thank you for finding time to be here inspite of your multifarious duties and responsibilities...

Lashy: Good morning Mrs KK. It is indeed my pleasure to meet my readers through your programme and am thankful to you and the IF channel for that..

KK: Lashy, I have heard that you have a big fan following from the days you have started to write in the IF magazine .. and how do you feel about it?

Lashy: Oh.. that is something that I received as God's gift..a gift I cherish in my heart always..

KK: Tell me and incidentally to the viewers something about your long term friendship with some of your friends from early days.

Lashy: (smiles) All my readers are my friends and if you ask me about any particular person I can say that there are two and they are Kausi and Sandya .. They will fight with each other for their right to be called "Chellam" by me..

KK: Okay Lashy.. Tell me about your latest novel "Hiding Behind a Stranger"

Lashy: It is a historical fiction set up against the 17th century background.. A romance blossoming between an orphaned heiress and a recluse with simple tastes..

KK: Well...viewers..we will now call her Chellam no 1 Kausi to the studio..

(Kausi enters)

KK: Good morning Kausi ..

Kausi: Good morning KK.. Hi Lashy!..

KK: And I call Chellam number2 Sandya to the studio..

( Sandya enters)

KK: Good morning Sandya..

Sandya: Good morning..Hello Lashy.

Lashy: Oh. what a surprise!.. think of the Devil...

KK: Kausi and Sandya.. tell us abut your association with Lashy..

Kausi: Lashy is a loveable person..

Sandya: Yes .. and also very intelligent..I love her style of writing..

KK: But Lashy said that both of you fight with each other for the title "Chellam"?

Sandya: Yes ..but most of the time I will be magnanimous towards her and permit her to use it..

Kausi: No.. she always fights with me for the sake of fighting..For example.. she is crazy about Jalal and she doesn't want anybody to say his name even, particularly me..

KK: You mean Akbar?

Sandya: I mean Jalal and not Akbar..

KK: But..where is Jalal in the story?

Kausi: Akbar is the name of the hero..Akbar Muhammud Khan.. or AMK shortly..

Sandya: But Harshu and others post their musings for Akbar..with Jalal's pictures..

KK: But was Jalal not Abar?

Kausi: Yes.. but he was Jodha's Akbar.. but this one is Harka's Akbar..

KK: You are confusing me.. Is Harka Bai another name for Jodha.? Om Puri's voice repeated it everyday before the serial Jodha Akbar started..

Sandya: That was Harka bai.. This one is Heera ..

KK: Uff.. Heera and Harka? How many heroines are there in the story?

Kausi: So far only one..

Sandya: If Akbar will be like Chandra, he will have 2 or 3..

Kausi: Then what will you do Sandy Begum?..

KK: 😲Sandy Begum? Whose Begum is she?

Kausi: No..no.. All our friends call her Sandy Begum..

KK: Oh.. When both of you fight, what will be the reaction of Lashy?

Sandya: She will enjoy it..

Kausi: Sometimes she will speak in favour of me.. I am her pet..
